I read on the passporter website that you can build your own light saber at Once Upon a Toy. Does anyone have a picture they'd be willling to share, or be able to confirm that they still do this. I have a much younger kid brother who would think this is the coolest thing in the world.

Thanks so much!

Hi,

I don't have a photo, but we just did this last night. My six year old loved it. The girl that was working helped him put it together. You get to pick different color "stones" that make certain sounds inside of the light sabre.
You also pick which attachments you want. When you go to the register to pay, they put the batteries in and you receive a pin - either a 'Sith" or "Jedi"-you choose. I think it was $20.

Yes they still have it and it is around $20.00. Our 16 year old even thought it was cool, but felt he was "to old" for one! :upsidedow

By the way, Mom was busy stuffing herself a huge, plastic Mr Potato Head :rotfl: and the 16 year old was worried about a light saber.

nice! as a huge SW fan I might want to make one of this myself (and I'm 23y/o!)

I think they should make one of this on the Star Tours gift shop, I bet it would sell a LOT!!!

DGS5 just made one and loved it. One of the workers helped him. He was so serious about picking out everything. It cost $20. His parents decided to let him make one for his friend for Christmas, but warned him that he would have to keep it a secret. So far so good...

My boys made their own light sabers back in April '07 and it was a huge highlight of our trip! My tip.... definitely ask for help! There are lots of pieces and you want to be sure that you get everything and put it together correctly. Have fun! :wizard:

What an interesting thing to know. I've seen the kit around in some stores at Disney where you buy all the pieces, but that can be quite expensive. This is pretty cool, and being as we are going in just over a week as a Magical Gathering with a bunch of SW addicts, I would like to know where this Once Upon a Toy store is. Thank you to all who reply. :thumbsup2 :confused3 :surfweb: :hippie: :woohoo: pirate: :hourglass :coffee:

Once Upon a Toy is in the Marketplace in Downtown Disney.

Oh, dear God...DD and I saw all these little boys frantically making these sabres and thought....hey, Nicholas (DGS) would think that is cool...he is 3 and into laser swords etc...well, we just could not figure out how to put it together...and these little boys were trying to help me....I felt like an idiot...and then they finished and left and DD and I were summoning a CM to help...I just couldn't put it together! It was $20 and you got a special pin with it. Nicholas LOVES it...it really is cool and well worth the money.

In my checked luggage. It isn't that long. The sword is like cones that slide out when you flick it. It would probably go on the plane in a bag too. It isn't big at all and doesn't look like a weapon. It is an updated Star wars version of those plastic things Disney always sold that kids loved and they would fling them and hit everyone. Oh, yes it lights up too when you push a button.

My DS got one in the beginning of October. I think his was about $27, but that was because he wanted several different color disks for his. It folds down and easily fits in luggage, although DS did carry his on the plane on the way home.

Now this is just too cool- my list of souvenEARS I'm going to have to get just keeps getting longer!! :lmao:

First I find out there is a lego box you can fill, now build your own light sabre??? This is so exciting! My two boys love light sabres and lego:banana: They are probably going to be more excited about this than going to WDW:rotfl:

You can fill a lego box? How does this work and how much is it? TIA.

I just read about it, waiting for more info. What I do know is they have it at the lego store at DTD. They say it is actually like a plastic tumbler and I thinks the price was around $13.00. They said there are pieces like wheels, window, etc. I don't know if they have people parts, I hope they do.
I see you are go to WDW next week, if you go you shoud post about it when you return. I would love to know more:)
