Build your own light sabers?

Do they allow these light sabers on the plane or ship them home?????What is the Jedi training????

I don't know about the shipping or airplane part, they are pretty bulky, esp. the Darth Maul type. I guess you'd have to pack them?

Here is a link to a post. When you click on it you will see two more links. One takes you to the Jedi Training Academy info thread and the other takes you to my pics of the Jedi Training Academy a couple of weeks ago:)

We have been to Disney World many times & this last trip in Nov., my 18 year old "baby" had building his own lightsaber as the #1 thing to do!!

It is the coolest adventure for any Star Wars fan .... young or old!

My DS 10 built a lightsaber and LOVED it! We actually had a problem with it and took it back and the CM gladly helped us and gave us a new part. DD 8 & DD12 both did the Jedi Training and had fun with that too. (I think DS felt too self consious to do this in front of people.) We have some great video and pictures of the girls fighting Darth Vader! Definitely, one of the highlights of our last trip!

Everyone should check it out even if your not a fanatic. Lots of fun!

He is turning 8 while we are there..he has no idea we are going yet!
Where is this place?

It's at Downtown Disney in the Once Upon a Toy store. The legos are at the huge Lego store there at Downtown Disney too.

Gosh, there is so much to discover, I just recommend reading all you can here on DIS, I learned a lot from reading people's trip reports or TR, too:thumbsup2

This is #1 on my DS's to do list!

Strange question, but do any of you know if the handle part has a "belt hook" on it? My DS LOVES to have them "hanging" off his shorts!

Do you guys know about the Jedi Training Academy at Disney Hollywood Studios? It was incredible too!!!
Here is a link to a great thread about it and how to get picked to battle Darth Vader, I just posted pics yesterday:)

Is the Jedi Training Academy an ongoing thing? or is it just something that happens once a Year during Star Wars Days?

Oh my god! My son is totally going to LOVE this - building his own light saber - he is going to be over the top in happiness. How much $$$ is it??

Yes, they have it every day about every hour or so:thumbsup2

It is $19.99 and comes WITH the batteries and a limited edition Jedi Disney Trading Pin. You can pick either Jedi or Sith.

It's the best deal in WDW!!!

I was so expecting like $40 or higher! WOW! And this is at Once Upon A Toy Store at DTD???

Yep.

It's the same price to make a Darth Maul style light saber with two ends too, only one end will light up though. Don't forget you can take one each of the disks that make it change colors and one each of the different noise makers! There are compartments to fit them in and it's okay, you're supposed to.

Does anyone know the "recommended age" for these? My one "mainstream" thing is trying to buy toys that are for DS's age, so I'm wondering about these... Anyone know?
