Hello,

I have used National on my last two trips, and I know their website gives you your total price with all fees inlcuded. Do you know if Budgets does the same? I am looking at 10/16-10/24 and right now, with a $20 off coupon, Budget is beating National (I tried almost every code on Mousesavers) by almost $80. That rate includes surcharge of 36.97 and taxes of 13.44. Does anyone know if Budget tacks on other fees that I don't see yet??

Thanks!!!

Erika

Budget gives you a total and a breakdown before you book.
The total at the end is the total you will pay (not sure if they deduct the coupon when you make the reservation or when you pick up the car and turn in the coupon).

I'm planning on using Budget too and was hoping the same thing. Also, I got the best deal from Budget by using their Mastercard promotion. Luckily I printed the coupon a couple of weeks ago. You get 20% off PLUS one upgrade but you must pay for it with your Mastercard. We're getting a Ford Taurus for a base price of $99.??/ 7 days (that includes the free upgrade but not taxes, fees etc.)

You might want to check that out, but I didn't see the free upgrade coupon online when I checked this weekend.

Another thing I noticed in the small print was a notation that a $200 deposit is required, don't know if this is standard practice or not but I'm glad I read that as I would hate to go over my credit limit as my MC has a lower limit and I was gonna put the park tickets on it too. (No flaming, I'm not charging the whole vacation! I actually have money in savings to pay the bill in full when it comes in)

It is "up to 20%" off not a flat 20%. You have a great rate and yes, it is Budget's practice to hold 200.00 on top of the rental price.
As to using your charge card for your vacation, that is not anyone's business but yours!!!! You don't have to explain yourself to anyone here. :)
