that's alot of jello LOL
My friend who sadly passed on made a delicious pretzel/jello dish. I found this on Cooks.com that sounds just like hers
STRAWBERRY PRETZEL JELLO SALAD
2 c. crushed pretzel sticks
3/4 c. melted butter
3 tbsp. sugar
8 oz. cream cheese
1 c. sugar
8 oz. Cool Whip
1 (6 oz.) pkg. strawberry banana Jello
2 c. boiling water
2 (10 oz.) pkgs. frozen strawberries, partially thawed
Mix first three ingredients and press in bottom of a 9"x13" pan. Bake at 350 degrees (metal pan) or 325 degrees (glass pan) 8 minutes. Let cool completely. Beat 1 cup sugar and cream cheese. Fold in Cool Whip. Spread over pretzels. Mix Jello and water until dissolved. Add strawberries. Stir into Jello, then set aside for 10 minutes. Pour over cheese mixture. Chill.
Here's a really fun recipe, and it's pretty to look at -
Rainbow Jello
Ingredients: jello, water, sour cream
You can use as many pkgs of jello as you want (and will fit the pan)
Choose colors and flavors of Jello as desired. For each color, dissolve Jello in 1 cup boiling water. Divide in half. To one half, add 3 tablespoons cold water. Pour into 9x13 inch glass pan and refrigerate 1/2 hour. To the second half, add 1/3 cup sour cream, mix until smooth, and keep at room temperature. When clear Jello is set, carefully pour sour cream mixture over it and refrigerate 1/2 hour. Repeat for each color.
You cannot taste the sour cream, it just makes the layer creamy.

Here is the ultimate EASY and CHEAP jello recipe:
Whipped Jello
3 oz. box jello
8 oz. Cool Whip
Make the jello according to the box instructions, except only add 3/4 cup of cold water (instead of 1 full cup). Refrigerate for about 45 minutes just to thicken the jello liquid a bit. Put the jello and the Cool Whip in blender and blend until smooth. Should sit in frig for a few hours before serving.
I get asked ALL THE TIME to bring this to family gatherings. I never have leftovers to bring home. It disappears quickly.![]()
Definitely in a bowl. I'm a no-frills cook, so I wouldn't trust myself to use a jello mold.do you serve in a bowl or do you unmold it onto a platter???

I make it with orange jello and mandarin oranges. YUM!My Mom used to make this when we were kids.
1 container small curd cottage cheese
1/2 container Cool Whip
1 box Jello (any flavor, I liked Raspberry)
1 small can crushed pinepple, drained
Mix up and chill
She used to make a cake too. I think it was a basic white cake in a 9x13 pan and when it was cool she'd poke holes in it and pour Jello (not yet set) over the whole thing. Then she'd refridgerate it and serve with Cool Whip. I'll have to ask her for the recipe.
What is it with my mom and Cool Whip?
