How much should I budget for food/snacks per day? It will only be me and DH and we are only planning on doing "fast food" meals for dinner and maybe a snack, fruit something for lunch. Also, we will be bringing our own breakfast foods as we are not big on morning meals. We are thinking of doing 1 character meal during the stay. Any help would be much appreciated. :worship:

I would go to allearsnet and look over the menus for each park and resorts. See what you think you'll want to eat. That gives you a good estimate of how much you'd spend a day. Then you can add some more $ for snacks and drinks.

That's what we do. DH and I will go over our days, write down where we'd like to eat on what days (to make our PSs) then figure out how much we'd need based on what we think we'd order.

I always budget $40 per day per person for food. Since I eat a lot of counter service and not so many sit-downs, $40 is plenty for me on most days and any extra goes back into the kitty to offset the few days that I eat at a sit-down and go over the $40 by a few bucks.

I don't snack much or buy water or soda because I carry a Brita bottle, but I do eat a full lunch and dinner every day.

For your character meal I recommend either Chef Mickey's in the Contemporary, or Liberty Tree Tavern in Magic Kingdom. Both have excellent character interaction and good food, though Chef Mickey's is a buffet and like all buffets can sometimes be a mess from unsupervised kids playing in the mac-n-cheese.
