Okay, you've convinved me- this is where we will stay for sure unless the rest of family wants to splurge for passports and try CDN side. But I would rather just save that hassle....and stay where u did. So there ARE Fallsview rooms? Could you actually see any part of them from those rooms or were the rooms just facing that direction instead of the casino, etc...
Thanks so much for all your info- it has been so very helpful!
No, you couldn't see the actual Falls from our room. But we did face where the Falls were though. In the picture that I took from our window...all those trees and green areas? That was the Niagara Falls Park. The only thing between us and the park was the other hotel's parking lot.
You could see the mist over top the trees from our room though and because we weren't far from Canada, great views of their skyline. We were on the 4th floor I think and there might have been a floor above us which would maybe have had better but still limited views. If it was a much taller hotel, I bet there would be some really nice views.
More than anything, the location was just perfect. A 2 minute to the Park, 5 minutes to the Falls, and a 5-10 minute walk to the Casino. Also right around the corner was the Hard Rock, a bunch of souvenir stands, street food vendors, yummy ice cream stand, and the outdoor snow park place (did not at all look worth going when we walked by it and I though it would have been a cute idea to try when I saw it online but no way). There was also a helicopter pad for rides just down the street as well. So while we were eating ice cream, we watched the helicopter take off and land right next to us.
We have stayed on the Canadian side many times and it can be really nice when you book a room with a great view but you are paying so much more for everything. The wax museums and haunted houses and fun houses and the more touristy restaurants and shops all start to call your name but they aren't cheap. A trip on the Canadian side can get close to the price of a WDW trip and well I'd rather use that money at WDW! LOL Plus we would always end up doing the attractions on the American side because we like Cave of the Winds and Maid of the Mist better on that side.
We had a great trip and didn't miss out anything by just staying on the American side. This was my DH's 2nd trip to the Falls and the first one that he had done anything but just look at them. It was also DD4's first trip. DD11 and I had been many times before but we had just as much fun. Actually, DH wanted to do something different for our mini vacation and both DD's wanted to go to NYC instead. They all ended up very glad that we went to Niagara Falls.
