Has anyone used Budget Car Rental picking up at Orlando Int'l and dropping off at the Canaveral location?

If yes, do they have a shuttle to the port? I have not been able to get a definite answer and the local phone number is not really a local number.

I read that someone used National and had to take a cab from the National Car Rental office to the port. I may just go with Avis because they at least have the shuttle from the Radisson to the port.

Any help is appreciated!

2 weeks from today....Disney Wonder!

I haven't included Budget in my recent car rental surveys (www.dcltribute.com/carhire) because they quote rates on their web site that are inflated by a large factor to compensate for the one-way rentals. Avis, Hertz, and National do not charge these inflated rates. I've also heard some anecdotal reports that they're understaffed on cruise days and they sometimes rent dirty cars.

However, they are conveniently located near the port (just a couple blocks beyond Avis and the Radisson) and they do have a courtesy shuttle to the port. If you can get a good rate, another recent poster said she was perfectly satisfied with their service.

We rent from Budget whenever we travel because that is who my husband's company contracts with for it's corporate rental car agency.

We rented at MCO and dropped off at the Budget office in Cocoa Beach for our first DCL cruise last year . Yes, there is most definitely a complimentary shuttle from their office to the DCL terminal. It's about a five minute ride. We are doing the same thing next month for our upcoming DCL cruise.

We didn't find any problem with staffing at their office, or dirty cars, when we dropped off the day of our cruise, or when we picked up from them on our return. Everything went smoothly and both the rental desk staff and the shuttle to the ship were prompt.

I don't have the telephone number for that office, but their address is 8401 Astronaut Boulevard, Cocoa Beach, FL.

Thank you to both of you! The reason I picked Budget was because of the rate. My company uses Budget and their rate was much better than Avis. I am glad to hear that there is a shuttle. Great feedback Carol...thanks!

Thank Dave....but!

Unfortunately, if you call that number, it goes to a central reservations office. I called it a couple of weeks ago and it gets answered by a central customer service group.

I always book online at the Budget website. Just put in your corporate number where it asks for it, and it automatically applies the discount.

Kevin, I've previously used that # to talk to a local rep, but if it's forwarding to the CRO now, I guess there's no way around it.
