Good morning. Temp is only 63 right now going to the low 80's. I can live with that.
It;s been busy around here. Ella got her license but I still wound up driving her to work. Her car had work done on it but the engine light kept coming on. The ignition coils were misfiring one at a time. I had a disagreement with our mechanic, not sure my car will be going back there because of it. My neighbors recommended the one they used so I had Ella take the car there. The issue was a coil again but they recommended getting the last 3 replace at one time. Financially it made sense. One coil at a time was around $750, the last three combined was $1000 total. I lent her the money and now she is happy and promises to pay me back over her next 2 or 3 paychecks as it is on my credit card.
Jim has been cleared to get the surgery on his toe and my daughter is happy to finally find out why she has ITP. It's a fancy word for non-specified low platelets. Jim has the same disorder although we can't understand how it was never caught before now. The drs. will give him something to boost his platelet counts right before surgery. The normal treatment is steroids but since he is diabetic they will try something else. She also wasn't overly concerned as it's a minimally invasive procedure on a toe. He'll have to wait til I get back from DIsney though as it will take at least a month to get a date for the OR and a month of recovery. I leave in less than 2 months and the trip is paid off so I can't postpone, especially since I am travelling with a friend.
My dad is doing ok. Minor issue, ok MAJOR issue to me, with an LPN but she has been better so maybe she had a bad day. It can happen, or maybe somebody else reported her attitude. Dad took 5 steps which was a HUGE accomplishment. He will probably be in rehab for another month and then home. We are getting mom to do as much as she can while she has the time because once he comes home she will not leave him alone. Dad also has been diagnosed with mild dementia. It's going to be hard on my mom. But on the good news side they adopted a puppy yesterday. Their dog is 16+ and not doing well. Mom knows she has to make that difficult decision soon but every time she tries talking to dad he starts getting very upset and cries. This may help ease the transition. Dad named the puppy Spirit. This is Spirit. Shes a 9-week-old Golden Doodle

Mom said she will only be 25-30 pounds. I think mom is deluding herself as Spirit's paws are huge.
I have had a bit of an issue with a couple of neighbors recently. The one neighbor had a cat that was always outside. 100-degree weather, thunderstorms, it didn't matter the cat was outside. She kept showing up on my doorstep so my next-door neighbor that I share the steps with and I took turns leaving food and water out for her. The next-door neighbor even said something to the owners who responded, "she's an outdoor cat and we feed her so what's the problem?" The problem is they are bad owners. The cat disappeared about 2 weeks ago. The next-door neighbor and my husband found someone to take her in. By all accounts the cat is very content and has not tried to get out at all, so much for being an outdoor cat. Last night the daughter came pounding on my door demanding her cat since she knows the cat is in my house. I have 3 of my own, no she isn't, and I can honestly say I don't know where she is. A neighbor who has been hanging out with this family, odd in and of itself but they all like to drink and get high so that makes sense, popped out from behind a car shouting obscenities and I have the cat in my house. I responded by slamming my door shut. Now I am a little concerned about what they plan to do. Thankfully I do have a security camera out front so I can keep an eye out. They can't access my back without climbing a few fences although the obscenity yelling person can see my backyard from the house she is staying at. I have to warn my grandson to keep an eye out while he is here working.
On a positive note Anthony is playing baseball again and the best birthday present for me ever is I am going to his game today. I cannot wait to see him in action again.
Hope you all have a great day
