Budget Board List of Favorite Things--Think Oprah!!

About the Juniors Dept clothes...very true about the Desperate Housewives! Hollywood women get to dress in sparkles, sequins, low cut, and hip hugger until they are at least 60!

Oh, and DisneyPHD...way to go on getting some nice fitting jeans! I definitely don't see anything wrong with women getting a nice pair of jeans that fit them properly. Now when I see the older moms with ripped and embroidered low riders and a belly baring tee that says something silly like "naughty" or "sassy"...then I start laughing. :rotfl:

I shop in juniors and I'm 29. That doesn't mean I'm buying belly shirts or butt cleavage pants either :teeth: Tapered or high waist pants aren't flattering on anyone no matter how old you are, and that's all I seem to find in "misses" therefore I stay away from that dept.

Oh and whoever said that Glad Press n Seal is their favorite, thanks! I picked some up yesterday and I LOVE it!! Wayyyy better than saran wrap!

You are so right! I always keep my "muffin top" covered! (it is a little stripped after 2 kids :rotfl: ) Good fitting jeans can be a good thing. I just got rid of all my old ones (they were too big anyway! :cheer2: )

I hope I am never a mom that tries to pass a my DD's sister.
As it is I have a 14 year old neice I have most places with me and it makes me look like her mom, making me older then I am.

Had to add a few things to this list:
Hersheys Kisses, Good Wine (Cheap), Xmas lights (not all white), Kabboom Spray Cleanner, Mr. Clean erasers, Central Vacuum, Promotional Codes on the internet, Desp. Houswives, Grey's Anatomy, ER and the Amazing Race, Levis 515 stretch jeans at Kohls. ,Black Friday, homemade brownies.
**The day after our winter formal= had 2 girls going and they pay for everything(sadie Hawkins style), cold, snow, ice. They are now home and sound asleep but happy. They looked so beautiful!!

Oh, skiing in Montana!! I get to go over Christmas (relatives live there) !!!

Forgot about the crock pot liners tip for you.

I buy Reynolds oven bags at the grocery store and use them when I really don't want to clean up the crockpot. They work wonderfully and they are not expensive (no shipping!!) Used them for a Nacho bar for the melted cheese. Just tossed the bag and wahlah !!cleaned.

Two of my favorite things right now are:

1. A Ho, Ho, Mocha from Caribou Coffee. I am completely addicted to these. It is minty white chocolate coffee with whipped cream and chopped candy canes on top. I have already had four this week!

2. Robbie Williams' new CD, Intensive Care. This is an excellent CD. It is a combination of pop and rock. I have been a huge fan of Robbie Williams for about eight years and this CD is his best. He is huge in the rest of the world, but has never been successful in the U.S. Unfortunately, this CD was not released in the U.S., but you can buy it as an import in the stores. It is well worth the price.

There was not anything more perfect on Saturday than driving in my car drinking a Ho, Ho, Mocha and listening to Robbie Williams' new CD.

Having lived a very long time :rotfl: I have seen most everything under the sun and very few things impressed me or were worth the shelf space but there are two products that I love right now.

One is the Hefty plates that snap together. Fantastic idea and so great for putting together plates of leftovers for later. you can freeze them and microwave them too.

My very favorite item is my Shark, floor cleaner. They are only about $40 when they are on sale at Big Lots and when my first one's handle broke I went right out and bought a new one (has a different handle so they must have learned their lesson). It is rechargeable and so powerful to boot. It will suck up a small throw rug in nothing flat so you have to be a bit careful. When my sil tracks his muddy shoes in my house I am more able to keep my temper under control now than when I had to drag out the big cleaner.

Slightly Goofy

I thought of some more;)
- I'm HOOKED on Charmed tv series, thanks to my daughter!
- All of my Kitchenaide copper counter appliances. I have all of the extra blades for my food processor, too! LOTS of FUN!!
- And - recently, I bought a Breadman bread machine that has an automatic dispenser on top to dump rasins in during the last couple minutes of kneading. No more mushed up rasins and we just LOVE the smell of homemade bread baking! I always have a fresh loaf of cinnamon-nut-rasin bread available!

Body Butter moisturizer from Basin.
(Downtown Disney or Basin.com)
I have extremely dry skin and this creme improves dry patches within a day!

Really quick off topic -- which one do you use? My oldest DD has such dry sensitive skin - I would love to find something that would help - without the burning that some lotions do.

Thank you -- sorry to interupt

Awesome thread!

Some of my favorite bargains & indulgences:

Pernigotti chocolate imported from Italy. You can order from Amazon & it is worth every penny, even with the high shipping.
Donna Karen's Be Delicious.
Caldrea Lavender Pine Countertop Ceanser spray. Works as great as it smells.
Coke Zero. It's about time.
Starbucks Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffins. I am in serious trouble with these.
Philosophy The Present. Evens out skin and protects it.
Shea Soft Mango Body Butter. Smells so juicy & fresh. Great for foot massages at WDW!
Neil Diamond's new CD "12 Songs." Can't stop playing it.
Dove's Smooth & Soft Anti-Frizz Cream.
Ziegler's Pomegranate Apple Cider.

I think they all work pretty much the same - they are just different scents. They have an original formula, which I believe is unscented. This may work best for her as there wouldn't be any fragrance oils in it.

My new favorite thing is homemade sugar scrub.

1 cup sugar
1/2 cup olive oil
essential oil

Mix it together and use it in the shower or on your hands. This is like the stuff that sells for $20 in stores. I've made lavendar, orange and peppermint. Love it.

A really good, and not too expensive one to try is Vaseline Intensive Care "Soothing Moisture with Cocoa Butter moisturizing cream." It comes in a tube (it's really thick - do not try to go cheap and buy the Suave brand - not the same at all;o). It's about $3-4 per tube and I use it daily for really dry skin. I live NM (very dry climate), and with the heater running - the air is so dry that I have to run a humidifier 24/7 to help cut down on static electricity shocks. Without the humidifier, we risk frying our electronics from the shocks and we shock poor kitty every time we touch him (poor little guy:o(

Anyway, I have to layer 3 lotions everyday - I am a self-proclaimed lotion expert! This lotion does not sting at all! I highly recommend trying it! I've tried several body butters - some of which sting and some just plain don't work and the Vaseline cream w/cocoa butter is the best I've found. It can be difficult to find, though. I originally bought it at Target and then couldn't find it when I ran out - so, I ordered it from www.drugstore.com. You may want to look at the packaging online before/if you decide to go out and buy it so you will know exactly what you are looking for. If you do buy it and it doesn't work for dd, you can always use it on your feet;)
