Hello this is my first time ever in a chat room. so i will need a lot of help.
my home is ssr and was there 10/04. i would like to take my girlfriend & family to okw 10/05 but i need 43 more points. what is the differance between renting them or tranfering. if someone could help that would be great!!! :confused3

Actually transferring points is a lot easier than renting. There is still a trust factor involved, but for the renter it's easier. Since you are a DVC owner you would have another DVC ower on the board (rent/transfer) the number of points to your account. You can use the points any where but they are suppose to expire based on the account use month they were transferred from. Example: My use month is Oct. If I transfer you the 43 points so that you can use them for your Oct 05 reservation I will need to transfer points from my 05 account. I could not transfer from the 04 points because they would expire before your reservation. All you need to do if find someone who can transfer you the points you want, agree to what ever payment you both agree to, give the other DVC owner your Member Number, make your payment to the DVC owner and they will transfer you the points. Normally in this type of transaction payment is asked for 1st and then payment is made. Many transactions take place using Paypal for the protection of both parties.

Renting points on the other hand, is a DVC Owner who sets up a reservation for a renter and then collects the payment of the points necessary for the reservation.

Have you considered just borrowing points from your next Use Year? Assuming that you will be in your 2005 Use Year, you can always borrow the 43 points from '06. You'll have that many fewer points to use in '06, but you can either take a shorter trip that year or, better yet, borrow from '07. :)

thanks. but i need the 43 pts on top of my 2005 & 2006 pts.
