I've been lurking and planning for some time now, but we made it official this past month and booked for November 15, 2007!!! So now I'm 10 months away and freaking out!!

Anyway, we decided that we'd like bubbles for the ceremony recessional. I thought it would be cute to have bubble guns (the automatic bubble blower) to hand out at the beginning of the ceremony. Now the problem is I can't find any that are in wedding colors or any muted tones. I've seen a couple of Disney themed bubble guns, which I would be more than happy to go with, but I can't seem to find a place to buy more than one!!

Any ideas?

Thanks ahead of time!!

have you tried like Disneyshopping.com? or maybe wait a bit, till the stores bring out their summer stuff. Disney ones are usually pretty easy to find

Have you thought about painting them the color you want? ...that is if you can't find the ones you want... I think at the craft store you should be able to find a paint that will adhere to plastic. Also, sometimes just adding some ribbon, or monogram stickers to them that are in your wedding colors might work too.

Thats something I've considered. I'll have to experiment.

Thanks!!!

Here's a link to the bubbles I made.

Those are adorable! I guess my fear is that people will forget to use the bubbles when the time comes. I thought with the automatic guns it would be even easier for them. I guess I could always announce when the time comes.

Thanks for the link, it's getting my creative juices going!!!

I have put my maid of honor incharge of the bubbles, she is gonna tell people when to use them.

Belle Amy, I love you sig, and avatar! My husband just recently got me into Firefly!
Let us know what you decide to do with your bubbles! :flower3: I'm sure people will be eager to use them. I know...cuz at my wedding they were asking, "where are the bubbles?" "What do we throw?" But, my venue didn't allow us to throw anything, or blow bubbles.

we had bubble machines on the sides of the gazebo, I think they were somewhere around $200+. They were very cool! FTW shoots them off after you are pronounced husband and wife. We also made bubble wands...we had 2 of our relatives (young girls not in the wedding) hand them out as people sat down for the ceremony. I loved our bubble wands, they turned out exactly as I had envisioned:

Bubble Wands

just a quick FYI, if you havn't actually used one already make sure you test out the brand of bubble gun you decide on before you buy a million. A few of the brands (sorry I can't remember which) are VERY VERY noisy. Definatly not something you would want at a wedding. I also agree with just painting them. You could make it into a fun party with a few friends.

A few places to look for purchase:
-A craft store like Michaels/Rag Shop (they do get in summer kids stuff and they will go on sale and then theres always coupons)
-Pool Stores
-Toy Store
-Dollar Store (beware of the noisy ones!)
-Ebay! (make sure they either have a return policy or you test out that brand fisrt)

Good luck!

Here is what we did to our bubbles.

If you decide to go with bubbles just make sure that your guests know to pick them up or to have someone distribute them for you. Ours sat in a basket the entire ceremony somewhere. I saw them at our reception just sitting there. Which meant that I wasted money on something that was never used. In the end I think that I passed them onto my cousin for her wedding.

Oh...that's so sad! :sad1: I'm sorry that happened to you.

Okay...so if our venue allowed us to have bubbles... I would have picked these...

I know they are "kiddie" bubbles, but I think they are cute! :flower3: Instead I just put them in the kid's gift bags.

Thanks for all your ideas and pictures...sorry it's taken me a while to post back, Brian just went through surgery Monday on his knee...so I've not been able to get back online while I've been scurrying around for him...

I'm going to try to make a trip around town this weekend to see if I can get some ideas...I'll let everyone know what I come up with....
