BubbleBum Inflatable Booster Seat

Anyone ever use or know someone that has a BubbleBum inflatable booster?

Looking at our touring plans there are some times where the bus transport system is really going to add significant travel time. We're not renting a car, so the only other option is taxi/Uber. We have a 4 & 5 year old though so we need some kind of car seat. This looks really portable, so would pack well both in checked luggage and stashed under the stroller in the park, and our kids fit the requirements for use. I'm thinking could be a great alternative to relying on the bus system for water park travel, or when we want to make a speedy return to the resort at the end of the day. Any thoughts?

Those actually look very handy! I wonder how hard they are to blow up? I know that I always hated blowing up pool floats and the like, so I'd be concerned about having to inflate and deflate them several times during the trip, but maybe it wouldn't be as hard as I'd imagine. I guess that's what the husband is for!

We used one on our last trip and will be bringing two along the next trip. Very easy to inflate/deflate and it comes with a storage bag to hold it in. Basically, there is a valve that you twist open/closed when you inflate or deflate. To inflate, you blow into it like a balloon, then twist the valve shut. To deflate, open the valve, roll it up to get the air out, then twist the valve to shut it again. I wouldn't use it as a regular booster, but as a travel/spare booster, it is definitely worth it. Even when inflated it is pretty light and can just be clipped onto luggage or a stroller.

We used one for our last trip in January and it was great, it was easy to inflate and had great safety reviews plus now I can send it with my son if he needs to go home with a friend who doesn't have a carseat.

I'm a Child Passenger Safety Technician, and I've used the BubbleBum before (and will again). It really does inflate in less than a minute. There's foam inside (sort of like a life jacket), and when the valve is open it partially inflates itself. It only needs a few puffs to get it fully inflated.

My only word of caution is that 4 is young for a booster, especially at the end of a long day. If you're sure your kids will sit properly and it's for short trips, it's probably fine.

Where do Uber/taxis pick you up at MK? Nothing speedy about having to go over/around the lake at the end of the day. Just something to think about.

You need to go to the TTC before you can get a taxi at the Magic Kingdom. Or walk to the Contemporary Resort. So I'm not sure how much time you will save.

Something else to consider is that no one keeps an eye on the strollers once guests park them. So it is never a good idea to leave anything you need in your stroller, as it may be gone when you return. Unfortunately people do steal at Disney World.

This, above everything else, has been the biggest burr in my a! ADRs 180 days out? No problem. Totally changing touring plans because party dates/park hours change? I got this. But planning effective transportation? #slammingheadagainstawall

Why? Using the buses is easy peasy. No need for car seats. As long as you leave enough time to get to where you need to go, the buses are great! It is when you are trying to hurry from one spot to another that they are a pain. My advice is to not overschedule to the point that waiting for a bus throws everything off.

I think it started out when my husband saw the bus route changes for the water park and read some posts here about travel time. And then got some feedback from friends that are there now and were miserable with the travel time to and from TL. I was sold on just using the bus system, but now his travel time anxiety has carried over to me lol. Mainly I just tell him, hey I got this planned we're all good...but now he's got me freaked out that we'll spend hours every day waiting on or riding buses. This is our first DW trip with kids so I fully expected at one point to have a planning related panic attack. I'll be fine now, just going to go forward with using the buses.
