Still hungry after my lunch.

Looked up some sides in the cafeteria today:

I guess I'm getting the Brussel sprouts . . . (but I really wanted the fries!):guilty:

duh......the fries of course!

With ranch dressing. Or better yet, a Wendy's chocolate frosty to dip them in.... or maybe with bacon and cheese AND Ranch dressing.

...I'll be right back.

Ooooo!!! Dipping french fries in a Frosty!! I haven't done that since I was 12. Yummy!!

Actually though I am a big fan of brussels sprouts, especially roasted.

I like my brussel sprouts with bacon, so that probably offsets some of the health benefits, I suppose. :rolleyes1

That was me yesterday..sigh.

I REALLLLY wanted the grilled cheese sandwich and creamy tomato basil soup. But, together they had over 500 calories and the sodium was off the charts. So I came back to my desk with couscous primavera and balsamic grilled zucchini. Which had a whopping 115 calories, 1 gram of fat, and 135 mg of sodium...combined!!!!

It was good. But not melty grilled cheesiness good!!!

Fries.

Gotta die someday, somehow.

If they open me up, they'll exclaim, "Hey, look-it! This cat could not have lasted one more day! Didn't even bother to take the butter out of the box!"

There is no way I will eat brussel sprouts. I must have had a really bad experience with them when I was a kid. I can eat cooked cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli - but brussel sprouts! - no way!

I know that my mom overcooked veggies, so that's part of it.

I like most vegetables but there are some on my don't like list but before totally giving up on any of them I try to have them prepared in a multitude of ways. Brussels sprouts were on that list until I finally had them prepared a way that I liked. They were pan seared in a honey reduction and that is how I make them now. I cut them in half and toss them in a pan with olive oil for a few minutes to get them started and then add natural honey and allow it to reduce while the sprouts finish cooking. :thumbsup2

And I'll bet you were hungry again an hour after you ate. You had no protein or fat to last you!

I was not, actually! I was not hungry again until around 7pm (so 7 hours later) when I served dinner. And even then I had a very small portion of mushroom stroganoff. I eat the majority of my calories at breakfast and am rarely hungry throughout the rest of the day. I tend to just graze....

Brussel Sprouts are one of my top 5 veggies. I will eat them any way they are served to me. Love them with just some lemon juice and sea salt the best...
