DH is insisting we go to BD. I don't really care for it, but will get the Cobb Salad! We are going for lunch.

Do you know if we can use just 4 credits and then pay out of pocket for my salad and dd6's mac and cheese...saving 4 credits?

This really isn't an instance of trying to save credits for later, really about not wasting them! We will use 2 on DH's meal...as he MUST have as much food as he can possibly have at each meal :sad2: , and 2 on DD3s meal. DD6 will eat maybe half a bowl of mac and cheese. Wouldn't touch either of the app. with a ten foot pole and will have a bit of dessert perhaps. DD3 will eat her entire meal, the rest of her sisters, and mine! :rotfl: So, using 2 credits on her is well worth it.

Has anyone actually saved some credits there and paid OOP or shared, etc?

It is currently impossible for individual restaurants to tell the difference between folks paying OOP just to use those credits (for the age of patron they were intended) later, versus those strategically paying OOP in violation of the Dining Plan rules. Until the systems change to give the restaurants that ability, you could very well face the same refusal other members trying this faced, such as:

I will just be upfront with them and if they aren't allowing any portion to be paid OOP, then we will just share two meals, an adult one and a childs. Works for me, but will they allow that? I would be saving two adult and two child credits, to eat at Boma later...which would reguire exactly what I saved.
