This might sound like a weird question, but does anyone have a photo of the Brown Derby Cobby Salad?

No picture, but, I find the Brown Derby Cobb to be very mushy...the salad pieces are cut really small.

If you want an outstanding Cobb salad...go to planet hollywood in downtown disney.

I too thought the salad to be mushy. It was not as expected and we were very disappointed in it.

I don't have a way of posting it, but I have a scanned JPG of the picture from the Disney Magazine when they published this recipe. If you PM me with your email address I'll send it to you.

I did follow the link posted above & have to say that the picture does make the salad look soggy when compared to the picture in the magazine. I like to put the pix on my recipe cards when possible. (I print them off the computer.)

I must love mushy salad.

The Cobb Salad at Brown Derby is one of the main reasons we do Disney every year, and we must dine there twice before going home.:D

I used to work at a restaurant that made the best cobb salad. On our last trip I was so looking forward to trying it at the Brown Derby. I have to absolutely agree with the others......too finely chopped and became mushy right away. I think the avacodos were over ripe too. But the restaurant was nice with nice waitresses. Thats how I remember it, so I hope this helps. I agree with alot of others that they could use more table service restaurants at MGM and AK.

I must say, we had the Cobb Salad at the Hollywood Brown Derby (We did the Fantasmic Dinner Pkg) and it was DELICIOUS!
DH and I both had one and we ate every single bite.

So that's my story! Hope you get to try one! :)

We will be trying the BD this year with the Fantasmic dinner pkg, What else is on the menu besides the Cobb salad that was memorable. And how is the Grapefruit cake?, it sounds terrific!

The Grand Floridian Cafe serves a very nice Cobb salad. Although BD's version has always been very finely chopped (or perhaps minced is a better description), I think it really went downhill a few years ago. Before that we always enjoyed it but the last few times we tried it it was so mushy...and there were tiny cubes of some translucent tasteless thing. We guessed tofu and then it finally dawned on us that it was supposed to be the turkey.

Love LOVE the Brown Derby Cobb Salad....

Hate HATE their grapefruit cake! :p

Am anxious to get my hands on some of that salad asap.......YUM

When we were there in August and had Lunch with Disney Artists, the Cobb Salad were were served came in a small bowl and all the ingredients came beautifully arranged in a row! It looked like a rainbow! Then the waiter came around and added the dressing but very minimal! I could see if you added too much dressing it would get mushy!

I really enjoyed it and so did DD until she tasted the Blue Cheese!LOL

That sounds more like the picture of the salad as it appeared in the Disney Magazine. pirate:

Yep...I had to figure out what the turkey was also...lol.

Nope, the salad did not have too much dressing to make it mushy...the way it is chopped makes it mushy. More like chunky baby food consistancy.

Thanks for the photo. I think I saw a better photo of it a few months back, but that works. I wanted to show it to someone who I was explaining the salad to.

Personally, I LOVE that Cobb salad. It was so unique and different. DH loved it too. I want to try and replicate it at home.

I only had the Cobb salad as my dinner-so did my DH. I had something good and chocolate for desert.........I can't even remember what it was. But anyhow, our dining companion had Muligatawny (sp?) stew and loved it so much she asked for the recipe. That's all I can offer.

DH *LOVES* the way they chop up the Cobb salad, says it is the best ever!

I was not thrilled with the cake, would rather have some candy-licious Florida grapefruit. We could scarf down a whole bag in season. One of our best-ever trip highlights was going to one of those fruit stands down by Cypress Gardens (so glad we did that park before they closed btw!), and tasting the fruit until we found the ones we liked best including a sweetly delicious pink grapefruit.

Cheers :)

I completely forgot about the DIS Photo Gallery! Maybe this will work.
