Brooklynn takes Bella to meet Cinderella! Page 242 Downtown Disney

Funny, I always say this about DD24 except I add "wet" and "cold" as well. Otherwise she's a lot of fun to be with!

Young people - don't always understand them, but always love them. ;)
Don't always like them, but always love them.

We are still planning the no parks WDW trip. I am afraid saying that will get me kicked off the DIS!

Tomorrow is our big switch resort day if we can. I might just get me a ticker when I have a more finalized plan.

Do you think you will give in to one day only at Magic Kingdom? I know it will be hard to be right there with three little ones and not do MK for one day.

Yes, I am an enabler, but I'm just thinking Luke would really be at a great age to love riding things in Magic Kingdom. :)

I will be looking forward to a ticker for you. :woohoo:

MeMom, Teena the greeter at Beach Club's screen name on the DIS is "TeenaS".
She is full of great information over on the Beach Club/Yacht Club thread. Her daughter is a teacher in Las Vegas and we had a very nice visit with her last summer.

If we get over there, we will ask for her.

Looks like it was a great breakfast!! A nice first meal on a special day.

The picture of Bella in the high chair truly shows what a peanut she is! She really looks like a doll sitting in there she's so little!!! :cutie:

Oh goodness!  I didn't even think about it when I wrote it...obviously! Oooops!

Oh ya, enjoy your dinner! I've heard many good things about the steak at Kona. Yummy. Is there any sort of landmark I should hang out around until you guys arrive? We can probably be there earlier, so I can start staking out the spot...

Bella looks too little to be doing what she does, so people laugh and smile at her when she is doing things they don't think she should be able to do.

Yeah, that steak is great! Maybe when you guys get to Poly you can text me and just meet me at the entrance to Kona. Then I can let you know how our time is going at that point. Where we sat for Fourth of July fireworks was perfect. Maybe we'll just go put a blanket and a big LGMH down before we go to eat. ;) Wonder if anyone would snatch it?

So I haven't asked this yet, how close were your rooms to each other?

Side by side. My room connected with Jill's, and then Trent's was on the other side of hers. It was a great arrangement. We were very pleased.

Probably no more Dising for me today. We have the Math Festival tonight, so we'll spend every spare minute today getting ready for that, and then it will be a long evening. Hopefully, we'll get to see a lot of parents, which is always good.

Have a Thrilling Thursday!

 I didn't know Cape May diner didn't have the characters....maybe I'll switch up my plans and go for the breakfast instead. :upsidedow

I'm planning it for our HS day, so we can use the boat to go back and forth.

I don't know how I missed that.....:confused3

I have thought about getting the free volunteer tickets. I am sure there is something around here that qualifies us for a day. And of course if I picked one park it would for sure be MK.

I am also struggling with the "if" I have to go back to work full time next year (my other half might retire... not sure how easy /would I want to find another person) mommy guilt would probably get me to ruin my budget and buy some tickets.

Have a great time at Math Night!

Cape May looks fun and yummy. I haven't really read much about it before so it was neat to see pictures. :) I also am a fan of the three men and lady (or a mouse you could say) picture. How fun! :)

hey, memom! i had to share this with you....figured you'd get a kick out of it.

i was over at anna's house yesterday afternoon. when i got there she had been in their guest bedroom playing a video game with luke. she allows him time for video games as a reward for reading and doing chores. anyway, he had stayed home from school yesterday because he was really congested and achey when he woke up. he came into the living room while i was there and i asked him if he was feeling better. he just nodded and i said, "i heard you didn't go to school today." he looked at me and thought about it and said, "yeah, i had to play video games instead." :lmao:

when i told anna that she about DIED! she was like, "oh, no...i hope he doesn't say that to his teacher!!!"

i think he just said it because he had just come from playing video games and it was fresh in his mind. it was still so funny though!

Yeah, you might as well get character pictures, too, and it's an excellent meal.

We had a great crowd, and it is always good to get to see parents face-to-face.

what is a math festivel

The families come and play Math games and do Math activities. They also get free dinner - pizza, hot dogs, salad, cookies, and drinks.

That's great! :)

We were just hoping the guys would get in the same building where we were when they arrived, so we were pleasantly surprised when they were right next door. :thumbsup2

I hope you do get to go for just one day. I did that once with a friend. Jill was pregnant with Brooklynn and couldn't go, so my friend and I and Drew and a buddy of his went down just to get away. We promised Jill to only go to Hollywood (then MGM) for one day so that she didn't miss out. Since we knew going into it that that's the way it would be, it was just fine. We enjoyed one park for the whole day, and then the rest of our days we went resort hopping and shopping and had plenty of fun. We both had new grandbabies on the way, so the shopping part was way fun!

Math Night was fun, but it sure did make for a looooong day.

It's almost time for you to go, isn't it? :)

MeMom, Wishing you a marvelous math festival tonight!

Thanks. It was fun, but I am spent and very ready for my weekend.

He probably will say that. ;)

Last week, I had a student come in on Tuesday and tell me she would be out on Friday. I asked her why. She said because she was sick. Not sure where they were going for the weekend, and truly I couldn't care less, but it was just funny to hear her say that three days in advance.

As teachers, we hear all kinds of things. Just like you do in court, I imagine.
Did I ever tell you about my favorite two notes from parents? If I didn't, let me know, and I'll tell you about them later. I've gotta get going on this school day.

#1 was when I was teaching kindergarten many, many years ago. A little boy brought in an absence note which read something like this:

'Shawn' was absent yesterday because he had to go to the doctor. The doctor found a bean in his ear. I guess it was there from when you all planted beans a couple of weeks ago.

#2 was from a 3rd grade parent concerning her son's headaches. It went something like this.

'Chris' got a haircut yesterday. I think that is what was causing his headaches. The doctor said he may still have headaches until his hair feels lighter.

I assure you, that child's hair was no longer than Connor's or Baylor's - just a normal little boy haircut, not long and hippy-ish or anything. I can't remember how long it took for his hair to feel lighter, but I think it was just one day. :rotfl:

The math festavel sounds like a lot of fun wish they had that were I live

Maybe you can suggest it when your kids are in school. It was fun.

I wanna hear, too! :yay:

Okay, you heard.
Now what do you think about them?
Funny, huh?

Yes! And I'm getting nervous. :goodvibes

You are going to have so much fun. I wish our dates overlapped. I'd love to meet you and your kids.

why u will have a great time

Yes, they will! :dance3:

****************************

Good Saturday morning, all!
I love not having to get up and get going. It is nice to have one day just to lounge around and do what I want to do rather than what I have to/need to do.

Jill's bunch got here last night around nine. Bella's bottom teeth are definitely through more than they were when I saw her last. (It has been three weeks. I miss them so much when I don't see them for that long.) Brooklynn was wearing a lime green Disney World 2009 shirt. Her karate class had been cancelled because the teacher had been in a wreck, so she was telling me about that. I was glad to get to spend a few minutes with them before it was time for bed for everyone. It was funny watching Bella do some version of the breast stroke across the kitchen floor. It was both arms forward and pull, over and over. She looked cute and crazy. :)

My cat promptly jumped up onto the hutch when he heard Ben come in. He's scared to death of that dog, but all Ben wants him to do is come down and play. We shut Ben in a bedroom and I tried to force the cat down to get him in my room for the night, but he hissed at the broom liked something possessed. If you saw wsushocker's picture of Mickey recently, that's something like what my cat looked like. ;) He just hadn't had time to adjust to his company yet, and he was still jittery. He is such an 'unbrave' cat! I ended up leaving him there until there was no one left in the kitchen watching, and then he came down in a friendly way and made his way to the bedroom, where he will stay until Ben leaves on Sunday.

It's amazing all those little girls in your classroom with long hair don't complain of migraines everyday!

Those notes are hysterical, MeMom!!! I am still laughing over the bean one! :lmao:

Have fun with your girls today!!! Hopefully, your cat stays in your bedroom, so you don't have a repeat of the crazed Mickey look. :rotfl:

So what are the plans today MeMom? Are you all staying in and relaxing or out and about?
Whatever you do, it's sure to be a wonderful day.
I'm glad kitty became friendly before you had to get a net to retrieve him...

Your absence notes were very funny! I'm sure glad that bean didn't sprout in that young man's ear...
.

Hi Memom!

I hope you have a wonderful day with your girls. What have you got planned?

Those notes from your students are hilarious. I'm thinking of becoming a 2nd grade teacher when I'm out of the military. I really want to teach and I would be following in my grandma's footsteps.:goodvibes

Megablocks---I remember a long time ago reading a trip report of yours. I loved it ...are you going to do another one?? I can't find the old one anymore.

:rotfl:.....funny 'notes'.....the hair one is just too funny! :rotfl:

Lexi is sitting here and said "you can't get a headache from hair, or I would have them with all the hair I got!" :lmao:

I hope you have a wonderful visit with your 'girls', especially the little ones. :grouphug:

Lexi has a request, if you go to the Disney Store. She would love to see pics of the Christmas merchandise. We don't have one anymore :sad2: She says you take great pictures of shopping stuff!
If you weren't planning a trip, don't worry about it.

It's weird not having to work first thing on a Saturday. It's kindove nice. I can DIS a little before getting ready. My shift will start at 12 noon.

** Oh, I made an ADR for Cape May breakfast (just in case I change my mind).
I have several months to make a desision or just go to both?
