My cat promptly jumped up onto the hutch when he heard Ben come in. He's scared to death of that dog, but all Ben wants him to do is come down and play. We shut Ben in a bedroom and I tried to force the cat down to get him in my room for the night, but he hissed at the broom liked something possessed. If you saw wsushocker's picture of Mickey recently, that's something like what my cat looked like. He just hadn't had time to adjust to his company yet, and he was still jittery. He is such an 'unbrave' cat! I ended up leaving him there until there was no one left in the kitchen watching, and then he came down in a friendly way and made his way to the bedroom, where he will stay until Ben leaves on Sunday.

I got busted! The surpize trip is no longer a surprize....

I totally forgot about the ticker and of course my darling DD saw it!

(insert I'm a complete dummy here!)

I can't believe I ruined my own surprize.....but she is so EXCITTED!!!!

She was bouncing around! She ran to her Gramma and said " we are going to Disney for March Break!"

My Dmom said "oh are we? I knew your mother couldn't keep a secret..."

It was so hard not discussing things with her (like ADR's), so at least now I can now fill her in on all the details.

I had such a fun surprize planned with balloons too, I will just have to try harder nextime.

Thanks wigdoubtdismom ! We have real live cats too but she wanted to share these ones? Gotta love kids!

#1 was when I was teaching kindergarten many, many years ago. A little boy brought in an absence note which read something like this:

'Shawn' was absent yesterday because he had to go to the doctor. The doctor found a bean in his ear. I guess it was there from when you all planted beans a couple of weeks ago.

oops.

#2 was from a 3rd grade parent concerning her son's headaches. It went something like this.

'Chris' got a haircut yesterday. I think that is what was causing his headaches. The doctor said he may still have headaches until his hair feels lighter.

I assure you, that child's hair was no longer than Connor's or Baylor's - just a normal little boy haircut, not long and hippy-ish or anything. I can't remember how long it took for his hair to feel lighter, but I think it was just one day.

what the heck??? that is insane. i can't believe a parent would actually write a note like that! that sounds like something i'd hear in court on why a criminal missed his court day.

Jill's bunch got here last night around nine. Bella's bottom teeth are definitely through more than they were when I saw her last. (It has been three weeks. I miss them so much when I don't see them for that long.) Brooklynn was wearing a lime green Disney World 2009 shirt. Her karate class had been cancelled because the teacher had been in a wreck, so she was telling me about that. I was glad to get to spend a few minutes with them before it was time for bed for everyone. It was funny watching Bella do some version of the breast stroke across the kitchen floor. It was both arms forward and pull, over and over. She looked cute and crazy.

margot's bottom two teeth are in and she's getting two on the top that are spread apart, like the two on either side of her middle two. brett said she looks like a little vampire. i'm going to post some pics of her on my TR this morning that i got from my stepmom yesterday.

aren't they cute when they scoot around like that??? luke never crawled. he did this thing where he would scoot on his butt across the floor. it was hilarious!

My dog and your cat sound similar! My dog has actually been frightened by a cat a few times -- I'm talking belly to the ground, feet scrabbling but not going anywhere (I have a retractable leash for him and he had it pulled as far as it could go), kind of frightened. It's a really sweet cat, too, which makes it even funnier.

Aww...thank you so much! My TR actually got moved into the "completed" TR section (even though it wasn't), because I got so crazy with finals and life that I just kind of forgot, and by the time I went to do an update, it was already closed. Yeah...I fall into the "trip abandoner" category. I am toying with the idea of doing a PTR, or at least a TR, since we're going in February so I'd love it if you came over there if I do! I promise won't abandon those.

Every year, when we plant seeds, I think of that kid, and I warn my students not to put beans in their ears. Did you know there really is a song called 'Beans in Your Ears'? It's really old, like me, so you might not have heard of it.

The cat is snoring away right now. Bella is down for a nap and Brooklynn is watching 'Turkulees', known by most as Hercules.

So what are the plans today MeMom? Are you all staying in and relaxing or out and about?

Jill and I hit Target and Cool Springs Galleria this morning by ourselves. I gave in and got two Minnie stockings for Brooklynn and Bella, because I knew I would regret it if I didn't. I also got Brooklynn's present - a 3 DVD set of Disney Christmas shows - Mickey's Clubhouse, Little Einsteins, and Tigger and Pooh. At Cool Springs, we went to the Disney Store and might have picked up a few things. We also went over to Williams-Sonoma so I could get some of that malted waffle mix that makes the waffles taste like Disney World waffles. They had some samples of the exact pumpkin dessert that I am going to make for our teachers' brunch next week, so we sampled and then came home and made one for ourselves. My kitchen smells better than a Yankee Candle store right now.

Those notes from your students are hilarious. I'm thinking of becoming a 2nd grade teacher when I'm out of the military. I really want to teach and I would be following in my grandma's footsteps.

Shopping this morning, babysitting right now, more baking this evening.

I am enjoying second, but it is amazing the difference one year makes in independence. These kids can't do nearly as much as my kids from last year. They are making progress, though.

We saw the ad for that today when we were there, but we're walking in a St. Jude walk Saturday in Huntsville, so we can't do it. We would love to see your pictures!

That's a really nice Disney store you have there by you. We have a store in the mall about 25 mins west from us and then an outlet about 20 mins east from us but neither are that good.

I know how you feel about those snowglobes! You wouldn't do too well in my house then though because my mom collects them and has about 30 of them!
