Brooklynn takes Bella to meet Cinderella! Page 242 Downtown Disney

That's a nice loot you got there. Nice C.Ds:thumbsup2 Of course they are for Brooklyn. ;) I think I might get a few this trip. For the kids of course.:cool2:
I love all those pins. Emily has the nemo and squirt ones. I could go very broke on pins.:rotfl2:

For the kids...of course!

I know. The pins are so cool, and if you got one for everything you did, you could spend a LOT of money!

I just took a short break from a research paper to Dis a bit, and am I glad I did!!!! My mouth dropped open like a kid on Christmas when I saw this Parks Holiday Medley CD. This will most definitely be accompanying us home from our trip......in 48 days! :cool1: 48! I have a paper to write! :scared1:

Thank you for the pictures, Memom!

You would probably enjoy the Candlelight Processional one, as well.

You are welcome for the pictures.

I love the idea of the test track pin I have one for splash mountin

I have two Splash Mountain pins. I picked one for my favorite ride in MK pin when I first bought some, and then I got a different one when Brooklynn had her first ride on it.

Cute things, I am so wanting a Wishes and 4 Parks One World Cd. That holiday one looks great!

The holiday one shows 2009, so I guess it is brand new. I was excited to see something new. :)

I love the idea of getting pins for every new thing that happens on your trips.

Eeeeek...the toys must be set free!

That is how I decided to enter the pin buying world - just getting ones that were significant to places we've stayed, favorite rides, or special events. I did not buy a F&W pin either year I've gone, but Jill bought me a MNSSHP pin this year, so that's cool!

I can't look at those pictures for more than a second. I didn't enjoy taking pictures of those poor little trapped plastic characters, but I did it for the sake of the report.

Oooh, Disney Parks Holiday music...I likee!

You can get one in December and bring Disney happiness home with you to last through the cold January and February days.

I love all the souveniers! I need some of the "park" CD's.

Great idea to buy pins that represent special memories from a trip, good way to not go overboard.....I find it hard to choose from so many!

One day I will hold on of those MNSSHP brochures in my hand....:) Thanks for sharing.

Trunk or Treat is such a neat idea! I loved how you put the cookie toppings into WDW cups. (if they were left out, I would have taken them too ;))

Brooklynn's costume is so adorable, I love all the details.

Where did that green smiley come from at the start of my response???? (maybe there is a cult......)

You would love the park CD's.

Choosing particular pins really does help me not just go crazy. It gives me a direction and purpose for buying, which helps me rationalize the purchase.

So the green smiley is our cult mascot? But it's not lime green!

Hey Memom,
Thanks for the pictures! Could you post a picture of the back of the Christmas CD - it looks like something I might really need :goodvibes Thanks!!!

I will do that as soon as I can remember to.
Maybe tonight, but don't hold me to that.

thanks again. ;)

by the way, i have some good friends who are on their way down there right now. NONE of them have ever been before! and the kids don't know where they're going. they have a 9yo son and a 6yo daughter. they're gonna be so excited!!! oh, and they're staying at your home away from home, pop century. check out this MADDENING schedule!

3:00 a.m. this morning - they left their house to drive down
11:00 a.m. - check in at pop (if their room isn't ready they are gonna hang out by the pool and grab lunch)
4:00 p.m. - MNSSHP (how's that for an introduction to MK?)
tomorrow - MK all day
thursday morning - check out of pop
thursday - DHS all day
after fantasmic - hit the road!

i can't believe they are gonna drive home after fantasmic, but she says that's normal for them. they didn't have much money to work with so they had to do a short and sweet trip, but i'm just glad they're getting to go. i'm excited for them!

Wowser - they are going to pack a lot into a very short trip! Come back and give us a report of how it all plays out for them. I hope they love it!

Thanks for sharing all your souvies, MeMom! You got some great stuff! I'm wtih everyone else, love the idea of the Holiday music CD!! You'll have to let us know how it is!!!:cloud9:

I do what you do, I buy my boys pins, too, for everything new we do.....Soarin', etc. It's fun and a nice souvie for the kids to remember. Love it!!

I have the toys here, too, we have the Nemo, Buzz/Woody, Incredibles set.....my boys love them, Cole is playing with them as we "speak" he saw your post and was on a mission to find ours. They are fun!! And I'm with you, they need out of that bag.....lol!!;)

Pins and CD's are also very small and light, which is good for traveling.

Brooklynn loves the smaller hard plastic playsets, too. She has several of those, and sometimes those have decorated our resort windows on trips.

I think my favorite souvenirs I have bought at Disney are the music CDs. I love listening to them in my car and going to my happy place! :thumbsup2

Yes, they are a favorite souvenir for me, too. I get my money's worth and more out of them. I travel to our happy place many afternoons when I leave school.

Can't wait to get my hands on that Holiday Medley CD! :santa: I listen to DIS radio sometimes while I'm talking to everyone on here because you mentioned it once :thumbsup2

All that Halloween stuff is so cute!

I love all the souvenir's you got. Thanks for posting them. I will be down there in 11 days - whoo hoo. I am already starting to think about things I want to try to buy when there. We find out if we are having a prince or princess two days after we get back (probably a good thing as I won't spend as much when there). Trying to keep us healthy right now. Both Abby and I were sick last week and I am still not 100% yet. Now DH is starting to feel bad - yikes. Thank goodness, none has been flu, mainly sinus infections so far. Hope your knee is feeling better!

Back from my trip and all caught up! It was great meeting you and Jill. The girls were adorable. Our trip was good for the most part-my sis in law ended up sick and the heat picked up some. I don't do well in the heat so I was really hot! Enjoyed the halloween party! Definetly will do it again one year! I think yall should do a "big" girls only long weekend-that would be alot of fun.

Those pins are such a great way to remember the great things that happened on your trip!

I need to get some Disney CDs for myself to get me through this long stretch of no Disney trips!

I was watching our videos from our trip last night and guess who is walking right down the middle of Main Street USA with us at rope drop? You guessed it, Jill with Bella in her front pouch and Miss Brooklynn on Jill's back. How's that for a small world! So not only did I get a surprise meet with Memom and the gang, I got a surprise glimpse of them on our video for about 5 seconds.

I love my Disney music too! I listen to it in the car even when DD is not with me! My DH thinks that makes me a dork but I don't care!:lmao:

I don't think you are a dork at all. :)

I like your souvenirs, especially the pins. I am kind of addicted to pins. My kids and I love to trade pins. I just wish they were cheaper. At least you can find trader pins on ebay.

I hope there are many updates to read when I return from WDW next week.

They can play with your budget a bit. I don't have many, but I really like the ones I have.

Have a great trip!

I've been lurking MeMom, but very busy at work!! We are so excited about our August trip, I'm giving you the dates now so maybe you guys can end up there at the same time?? lol

August 13-15th - Universal's Hard Rock Hotel
August 15th-22nd - Polynesian

I'll never be able to do anything past the first day or two in August, and that is pushing it, because we start school then. When we returned this year, I had one day free and then had to be back to school.

We have a better chance of meeting up on an October or holiday trip. :)

I want those CD's

I think my mom and I have settled on April instead of Feb. For a few reasons. We don't want to go when Splash Mountain is closed; it's our favorite. Another reason...if we went in April we'd have more time to save up money so we could go all out :) AND our birthdays are in April. Mine's the 30th and hers is the 29th(I was a birthday present apparently :rotfl:). That's a few days after we'd get back but we don't mind not being there on the exact date. We've never gone for our birthdays so we're excited  The only problem is...April is so far away :lmao:

It all sounds practical, but I know it is hard to wait. I start getting anxious about the next trip after about two months. I really need to go about every three months! ;)

Can't wait to get my hands on that Holiday Medley CD! :santa: I listen to DIS radio sometimes while I'm talking to everyone on here because you mentioned it once :thumbsup2

All that Halloween stuff is so cute!

DIS Radio is good stuff!

Aren't the Mickey pumpkin heads cute?

Yay for you! I hope everyone is healthy and ready to go have much fun in 11 days!

Brooklynn was fascinated by that TV thing in the corner. Sorry she wasn't very sociable.

We hit it just right with the weather. It was great for us.

Thanks for the help in getting the big girls trip to happen. ;)

Yes, and your baby needs to be hearing the Disney music, too. :lovestruc

That's great! That means I was close behind you. My job was to park the stroller and meet them at Dumbo.

I did that, and when I walked up the ramp at Dumbo to take their picture, that's when I heard my 'teacher name' being called. It was a family from our school. I had one of the kids in my SS/Science classes last year, and the mom had asked for advice several times before their trip. I told her Dumbo and Peter Pan first, so she took my advice. I got an e-mail from her today thanking me for all my help and telling me how nice it was to walk on to all these rides.

Here is the back of that Christmas CD, for anyone who is interested.

It is labeled as 2009, and it has some normal singing and some character singing, so it's good for the whole family.

You are such a trooper and such a true DIS'er to do something for the sake of the report.

Thanks! It looks like a great CD!

I feel lucky to live close enough to WDW to go pretty regularly! I don't often go longer than 3 months without a trip. We rarely stay more than 2 or 3 nights at a time, but that's usually about as much as I need to last till the next trip. It's nice to know I could call in sick and be at WDW in 2 hours, not that I ever would  I do envy your long trips at times, It would be much more relaxing, and you probably spend just as many total days there as I do :goodvibes

I know you understand the sacrifice.

I was going to be meeting Jill at the barber shop where Brooklynn would be getting a haircut.

IMG_0168.jpg

Judging by the next picture, I peeked back into The Emporium for a minute.

The purse a lot of people would like to have.

IMG_0169.jpg

I want a solid black one with a hint of Disney, and I found just the right one at POFQ. I am hoping to get it when we go in December.

I hear the parade, so I went out to get pictures.

IMG_0171.jpg

The characters waved and smiled all the way back into the gate.

A bunch of CM's were out there laughing and dancing, too.

IMG_0182.jpg

Here come my people.

IMG_0183.jpg

Inside the shop.

IMG_0185.jpg

Guess who is watching the action from underneath that floppy hat.

IMG_0187.jpg

Brooklynn is less than thrilled at this point.

IMG_0188.jpg

Now she's starting to get happy.

IMG_0191.jpg

He put a whole bunch of that pink goo in her hair.

IMG_0195.jpg

Too much, if you ask me.

You can't really tell how thick it was.

IMG_0196.jpg

She thought she was stylin', though.

IMG_0197.jpg

She kept wanting to touch it, and she would bring her fingers down with a big glop of pink. It was a bit of a mess until she just sort of forgot it.

IMG_0199.jpg

Then we got on a boat.

IMG_0200.jpg

Any guess as to where we are headed?

Her hair is so adorable!!!!!!!! I have to know if the pink goo came out easily though. I'd like to do this with DD but not if we will have to scrub it out!

And I MUST KNOW if you have a picture of this perfect purse! I want a black one with ahint of Disney too. You must tell!!!!!!!! I leave in 10 days and you have to tell me about it before I go.:)

I just love the hairdos that kiddos can get at Main Street Barber Shop. I just love all the glitter. I'm sure it's hard to get out though. :rolleyes1

I didn't wash the stuff out of Brooklynn's hair, so we'll have to consult Jill. All I know is that until it dried, it was a little bit of a gooey mess. An older child might have had a little more self-control about not touching it, but we were dealing with a not yet three year old. It felt weird to her, so she naturally wanted to touch it.

Here's the purse - the one on the left. It's something that can be taken anywhere, and I know the Disney is there, even though it doesn't scream Disney to the rest of the world.

You guys can all take your little ones there someday and have the full experience. Those little Mickey heads fell everywhere as she moved around.

That's Michelle, one of our cousins, in the background. She and Jill both have brown hair and are skinny girls, so they get mistaken sometimes.

oops. :upsidedow Love the the souvenirs you got! The pins are so cute, I can see how someone can get addicted to them.

That's a lot of glitter in Brooklynn's hair! She certainly was styling though and makes that pink goop look good! :goodvibes

Have you seen the thread with the Dooney & Bourke Disney bags? They are too cute. There is a wristlet, a smallish one with a tassle, and a large tote bag. They are white with Disney characters on them. I'm not sure how to post a link to it. It's under the theme parks community thread, I think.

Did you guys see Southwest is having a $25,$50 sale on way flights in for some dates in Dec and Jan.?
Didn't mean to hijack the thread or be an enabler! I don't know if I could convince my boys to go back so soon though. My b'day is in Jan and I'm hoping to go for Sping Break.

Memom, We aren't Halloween people either. I asked my DS(8.5) what he wanted to be for H'ween and he said he didn't want to dress up! He's always liked giving out candy better than going trick or treating.
Are you all going to the Candlelight Processional? We are going on the 28th. I can't wait, but my DH and DS aren't too excited about going.

What great pics! Loved them all! Very cute purse. Brooklyn's hair did look cute but gooey! I am sure Cayley would have made a mess of it.
CP-I was thinking the same thing and I think we would look FABULOUS!!
