Brooklynn takes Bella to meet Cinderella! Page 242 Downtown Disney

but she fell down some stairs and they did an ultrasound early to be sure everything was okay. that's when they found out it was a girl and it was like a week before we went to disney in december. so i got to get her a pink minnie onesie! princess:

Maybe I should call on the Monday before Thanksgiving and just make up something ;)

Honestly I think I might be glad I don't find out until after. I'll be finding enough stuff as it is anyway ....I don't need a trip to disney to tempt me and spend ALL my money!!

Where is a nice, suburban place to live? I don't want to be in the city but DEFINITELY not the country either.

MeMom can definitely help you with the possibility of teaching positions, but I would also love to help you with areas around Nashville. Living in NY I'm not exactly sure what you are used to, but I think Nashville is a perfect sized city. Although I am a little bias :rolleyes1....feel free to PM me and then we can get a e-mail chat going if you want :thumbsup2

Welcome home....glad you had a great girls trip!

So I found out that my best friend soon to be former best friend is at Coranado Springs for a car conference that she is covering for some car magazine she works for....the former best friend comment because she did not tell me about it until she was there!! :scared1: She never tells me when she is going to my favorite places...I could have tagged along...gone to the F &W festival....oh well...i know I will enjoy it when I am there in Feb!!

I think I saw that car conference set up as ours was breaking down. Yes former best friend status for not telling you she was going!!:lmao:

That's the fun of trip reports - showing things that are new along with the usual things everyone knows about. I hope you will get a chance to go in that area in Tony's. Later in the trip, I took the others back, so you will see more later. There are some cute little photo ops back there.

I did not know about that area!! Another item to do on the next trip :rotfl2::thumbsup2

That is true. As much as I love those girls, and as much as Jill loves those girls, sometimes I'd like to just have my own girl alone for a short time. I know she would not want to be away for long. I never wanted to be away from my kids. It would just be very short and very fun!

Yes, during my trip I noticed MANY families dealing with the stresses of travelling. I said to myself many times as I passed " an incident" that I have been that family. Even though mine are older now, I enjoyed not having to be responsible for anyone other than myself. An Adult trip wold be fun!

I did tell Drew. He laughed and shook his head. He thinks the Dis thing is pretty funny. He doesn't have a clue about what it is about, really. I did stop him and show him his greetings, though. I also showed him that the DIS has a Photography Board. I scrolled through it and told him he should check that out sometime
.

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY DREW!:cake: He should look at the picture of the day thread. Maybe that will feed his photography love and bring him to love Disney more. Great words of love from his mom.

The stepsisters will be great, I'm sure. When we rode the Teacups at the Halloween Party the other night, they stopped and were screaming at everyone on the ride.

That Saturday Morning we met, the stepsisters were in rare form!!

More responses later. I have to get to the grocery store. I like to go before the crowd gets there. Kind of like rope drop!

 Me too! Sometimes I even turn on the Imagination song as I enter the Walmart parking lot just like when the buses reach Epcot! :lmao: Somehow it isn't the same though.

OMG!! This made me laugh so hard!! :lmao::rotfl: I Listen to monorail narrative in the car and try to imagine we're headed to MK or epcot and not normal everyday places! Also, not the same thing ;)

This just confirms that I am not nuts when I do this:) Or I am but I have company.;)

I have 4 Parks, 1 World, Magic in the Streets, SpectroMagic, Illuminations, Candlelight Processional, and more to transport me away from real life while I am driving. I haven't imagined myself going to a park yet, but I may give it a try! :goodvibes

I am now the proud owner of 4 parks and Illuminations!!! I plan on wearing them out!!!
We enjoyed sending the pictures. It was fun sharing our good time with you guys.

We appreciate all the work you go through to share your trips with us.

When I graduate, Chris and I want to move off of Long Island. It's so expensive here, it makes us sick and we would be living with our parents until we are 35 if we stay here. We're looking at the Carolinas and Tennessee.

I grew Up on LI and now live inthe Charlotte NC area. I would be happy to give you the low down on the good and not so good of our area. We have been here 20 years so I guess I can say I like it

Just wanted to share with you one of my favorite pictures from this last trip.

I did laugh out loud when I saw that.I hope it was just surprise and she enjoyed the ride.

I was right there with MeMom and the gang when she sent this to you. I happen to look up and saw them and went over to introduce myself to them. MeMom was taking a picture and she said, "I am sending this to Punkin right now." How very cool to see it. I only spoke with MeMom and Jill for a short time but they are every bit as nice as you could imagine. Brooklynn and Bella are adorable and I am so glad that I ran into them.

I had the same thing happen to me when I arrived to MK at rope drop. I spotted Brooklyn having a picture taken by Memom out of the hundred if not thousands of people there. I was so used to seeing Brooklyns picture here that it was like jumping in a trip report.:rotfl:

Thanks Erica! I read yours and Dawn's Vandy Girls TR and saw that you're pregnant so congratulations! I also think we're going to be in WDW at the same time...we're going November 29-Dec 5. I'm going to PM you right now, thanks sooo much :)

Trunk or Treat is so cool! I've never seen anything like that before, what a great idea. :thumbsup2

Actually, I've been wanting to ask you a question. When I graduate, Chris and I want to move off of Long Island. It's so expensive here, it makes us sick and we would be living with our parents until we are 35 if we stay here. We're looking at the Carolinas and Tennessee. Well, since you live in TN, I figured you'd be the person to ask. Where is a nice, suburban place to live? I don't want to be in the city but DEFINITELY not the country either. I'd like someplace similar to where I am now, just not $304384098530 a month for taxes and a mortgage. Someone I work with told me Knoxville and I was looking at other places like right outside Nashville. I'm a real NY girl so I can't be anywhere thats too rural LOL Are teaching jobs in demand there? Any info you can give me would be appreciated MeMom! :goodvibes

I'll let Memom speak for Tenn. but I will offer my advice on North Carolina. We are desperate for teachers here. But you need to understand that there is a reason for that. We have a very high turnover rate in NC. I think the average teacher is gone from here after two or three years. I taught 3rd grade before I had my DD and I will tell you that it is not something I want to go back to. I wanted to be a teacher my whole life, but it was NOTHING like what I expected. But it may be different for you if you could get hired at a good school in a nice area. I taught in a small city with mostly urban kids and I was miserable. Most of my students every year were low performing and had little or no home support. I felt bad for the kids b/c they didn't ask for that kind of life, but they made my life very stressful.

I would think long and hard before moving to the South. There are some wonderful things about the South and I am very thankful that I was raised here. But it is not like it was when I was a child (and I am only 34). We used to sleep with the windows down in the summer when I was little and there is NO WAY that would happen now. My house is like Fort Knox!:lmao: We've even considered moving and I never thought that would cross my mind. But I am a country girl and all the things that used to be just urban problems are now creeping out here to us. So if you are used to the city life, then Raleigh or Charlotte may be good choices for you. But if you are a true NY girl............ I think you may have some serious culture shock! I've been to NY several times and each trip has certainly been an adventure for me.:) I'm sure you would feel the same way. But this is just one opinion. I'm sure there are others that would tell you to go for it. Just do some good research first. Good luck!

Welcome back MeMom!!

Bella looks so much bigger!! I look forward to hearing about her reactions and seeing her sweet face light up.

And a big happy birthday to Drew! Your post made me tear up. I have a, now former co-worker, who was adopted from Korea at the age of 8. I am SO VERY thankful for her parents in choose to adopt - I couldn't imagine my life without her. She is a pure joy. Adoption is such a beautiful thing!!

Love the pic of Brooklynn on Test Track. I can't wait to hear that story!

Trunk or Treat looked like a blast! I'm a tad jealous that people in your state can still wear short sleeves. :sad2:

Brooklynn looks adorable in her costume, I love the red hair. :thumbsup2

This is Henry's costume this year too!

Trunk or Treat looks like it was so much fun!

Aw..Bella playing with his hair.

Our Little Miss Ariel had a blast I'm sure!

Trunk or Treat looks like so much fun!! I love it!! What a great thing for the kids to do!! We actually have a few different things going on around here next weekend for halloween! But, we'll miss them! I am kinda torn about be a litte sad to miss them, I know they're going to be a lot of fun! But WDW will be way more fun ;)

Hope you don't mind me chiming in here. I live in Murfreesboro, TN, which is 20 miles from Nashville. Moved here from FL in June (I lived in Nashville for a year before we bought our house here). So far, we LOVE it. Great family community, low cost of living, etc. Feel free to PM me if you have any specific questions.

Welcome back, ladies!! Sorry I am late to the party! :lmao:

Those pictures are just darling! Trunk or Treat does look like a lot of fun. They do that at my church as well and people just have a great time.

I'm glad you had a good trip! See you ladies in about 2 months!! (WOW, I can't believe we are getting that close to the trip!!  )

Hi there!
Great Trunk or Treat pics MeMom! We are trying to get excited about Halloween for Toby's sake (we're not huge fans I'm sad to say!). He has 2 Halloween vests, a little Bat outfit (I will post a pic on Halloween!!!) and a small pumpkin cuddly toy. Daddy is also cutting him a scary pumpkin and we're then gonna make pumpkin puree for his food!
I have seen pics of you girls only trip on Jill's facebook - they're brilliant! Can't wait to see all of yours too!!!

I wondered if I can ask for some help (and from anyone else reading!)... I really want to make some sugar cookies but the recipes aren't great over here. I have googled, but not come up with too much... could someone please share a sugar cookie recipe with me? Ideally not using the "cup" measurement tho (just to be fussy!!!) as we don't use those here! (we use grams or ozs!)

Thank you very much in advance!
Julie xxxxxx

I completely agree. It's never bothered me at all that my cousins weren't biologically related to me. I would love them just as much if they were my biological cousins. Actually, Josh and Jeremy both recently became fathers :) They each had a baby boy. Josh and Jeremy are actually brothers, so the babies are biological cousins. But it doesn't bother me one bit that they're not really related to me. I love them both sooooo much. They're absolutely adorable and the sweetest babies ever :goodvibes

I feel the same way. There is no difference in how you feel about your kids either - biological or adopted.

I loved the truck or treat pictures. The kids are so cute in their costumes. The little boy eating the apple was precious.

That's Dean. He was not interested in candy when he first showed up. The apple was very important. :)

I can't believe you died brooklyins hair red

Just sprayed it. Most of it comes out in the first wash.

Trunk or Treat! What an adorable idea!! We need that in Connecticut! :)

Maybe you should be the one to start it! :cheer2:

We had a Nemo and Squirt a few years ago. Such adorable costumes! Trunk or Treat looks like a great way to hang out with good friends!

I know they were so cute! How about a picture? :)

We did have a fun evening.

Trunk or Treat is a great idea. Wish we had it at our church. We will be having a bonfire and hayride for our kiddos. I think we will sit it out though, since Ty is so young still. Plus, I think my bunch is cooking up a surprise for my birthday. I turn 45 Saturday. :(

P.S. I told Ty that Bella was crawling, so he got to it and started crawling this week. Still no teeth though.lol

He still has way more hair than her!

45 - that's nuttin'! You are still a youngster at heart, right?

Trunk or Treat is so cute -- a couple of our local churches do it as well!

Brooklyn is so cute as Ariel -- I don't blame Jill for feeding her to save the costume -- my 10-year-old managed to get chili on himself at dinner tonight. :confused3

How did you score those Disney Halloween cups???

I scored them because when you stay at a moderate, like we did (we thought we were really hot stuff!) they leave them out for your coffee! :dance3: I don't drink coffee, but I swiped the cups anyway! ;)

Happy belated birthday to Drew. My nephew turned 1 on the same day! We struggled for a long time to get pg and endured many fertility treatments. I really believe God gives you the children you are meant to have through pg or adoptions.

I think you are right.

Happy Birthday to your little one!

Trunk or Treat is so cool! I've never seen anything like that before, what a great idea. :thumbsup2

The Knoxville area would be nice for quick trips to Gatlinburg. Our area is nice, and we have distinct seasons. We are not rural.

As for teaching, you would be better off to go in an out-of-county system. Metro isn't the greatest place to work for many reasons.

Great Trunk or Treat pictures! We love Trunk or Treat, it's great for the little kids! We are looking forward to ours on Saturday night. My kids are going as Minnie and Mickey. I can't wait to see them all dressed up, I just hope Owen will leave the ears on.

They will be adorable, I am sure. I hope Owen keeps his ears on, and please share a picture with us. :)

That picture of Brooklyn is HILARIOUS!!! You're not a bad mommy Jill, just a funny one!:rotfl2: Kinda like when your kids are just starting to eat baby food and they make those funny faces when they taste something sour or nasty? And you give it to them again just so you can see their reaction one more time???:lmao: I LOVE it!

I know that the Lord has big plans for you. And, as far as material things, those don't mean anything. I know a family who wants for nothing, physically, but their dad is NEVER home and their mom hires a nanny in the summer so she doesn't have to spend time with her kids. I'm sure that Drew never wanted for your attention or your affection and love. He knows that you love him and that he was very wanted in your family. Don't sell yourself short just because you don't live in a mansion. There are more important things in life other than how big your house is or how new your car is.

The love is there, no doubt. I just wish I could give them all more material things, as any parent does, I guess. Rich people probably wish they could give their kids more, too.

Ack!!! :scared1: I was only gone a bit more than you and I am more than 12 pages behind.

I had a blast meeting both MeMom and Jill and of course Brooklyn and Bella.

Thank you for being patient with me we both moved around MK and missed each other a few times.

Glad to be back, but the catch up may be a bit crazy.

Hope you had a blast at the Halloween party. I was watching Hallowishes from the beach at the Poly :cloud9: My favorite place!

It was kind of fun playing telephone tag.

The glow sticks were a big hit. it was so thoughtful of you to bring those for Brooklynn. She enjoyed sharing them with some other children, too.

Watching fireworks from the Poly - good idea.
So good that we plan to do that New Year's Eve.

I've been out of town, so I a little late, but I'm glad you had a good trip and I hope that Drew had a good birthday! I definitely teared up at the birthday message and the story of him getting off the plane (I don't have kids, so it must not JUST be a mom thing) I am sure that all of the material possessions in the world cannot make up for the love and experiences Drew has had with you and your family and vice versa. No sense worrying about things that would have most likely end up discarded or forgotten when the memories and warm fuzzies will always be there.

I love the picture of Brooklynn on TT. It cracks me up, especially that you can see Jill laughing in the back of the picture.

This makes me smile. My mom did the same thing with all six of us while she was alive.

That's Michelle, one of our cousins, in the background. She and Jill both have brown hair and are skinny girls, so they get mistaken sometimes.

One of the things I want my kids to remember about me is that we had fun when we were together.

Honestly I think I might be glad I don't find out until after. I'll be finding enough stuff as it is anyway ....I don't need a trip to disney to tempt me and spend ALL my money!!

You could look for things you like, and the when you find out what your baby is, you can call Disney Merchandising and have them ship some of it to you.

I did not know about that area!! Another item to do on the next trip :rotfl2::thumbsup2

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY DREW!:cake: He should look at the picture of the day thread. Maybe that will feed his photography love and bring him to love Disney more. Great words of love from his mom.

This just confirms that I am not nuts when I do this:) Or I am but I have company.;)

I am now the proud owner of 4 parks and Illuminations!!! I plan on wearing them out!!!

Hopefully Drew will come over to the Disney side someday. He enjoys it when he is there, but he'd probably like Universal just as much, if not more, and he'd really rather be traveling all over the world than just returning to WDW.

Nuts with company would be correct, I think. I don't think we are normally, but we are happily abnormal.

You will enjoy those CD's!

I did laugh out loud when I saw that.I hope it was just surprise and she enjoyed the ride.

She says she wants to ride again. She laughed at herself in the picture and reenacted her squealing for me.

I had the same thing happen to me when I arrived to MK at rope drop. I spotted Brooklyn having a picture taken by Memom out of the hundred if not thousands of people there. I was so used to seeing Brooklyns picture here that it was like jumping in a trip report.:rotfl:

I think it is funny when people see me and say they knew it was me because I was taking pictures. I'm glad you saw Brooklynn in the crowd.

I'll let Memom speak for Tenn. but I will offer my advice on North Carolina. We are desperate for teachers here. But you need to understand that there is a reason for that. We have a very high turnover rate in NC. I think the average teacher is gone from here after two or three years. Heed those words. Unless you get into an awesome school, that's pretty much how you will feel about teaching here, too.

Welcome back MeMom!!

Bella looks so much bigger!! I look forward to hearing about her reactions and seeing her sweet face light up.

Brooklynn looks adorable in her costume, I love the red hair.

This is Henry's costume this year too!

Brooklynn looked at her hair so many times in the mirror.

It was warm enough until the sun went down. Then it got very chilly!

Henry as a racecar driver. Who woulda thunk it?

Trunk or Treat looks like it was so much fun!

Aw..Bella playing with his hair.

Our Little Miss Ariel had a blast I'm sure!

Bella loves to grab hair.
Brooklynn did have fun. She really enjoyed the hay ride. She was very happy with her haul of candy.

I would have chosen WDW over Trunk or Treat any day!

Have fun!!!

Think of all the fun you will have at disney

What she said. :thumbsup2

Trunk or Treat looks like so much fun! I'm glad you were able to have such a great time!!!! Looking forward to more pictures!

I have a lot of school work to do tonight, so I am guessing it will be maybe Wednesday before there are more pictures.

Hope you don't mind me chiming in here. I live in Murfreesboro, TN, which is 20 miles from Nashville. Moved here from FL in June (I lived in Nashville for a year before we bought our house here). That area is really growing. The boys have a lot of friends who live out there.

Trunk and Treat sounds like a great time, I love halloween season!

Hey, girl! You haven't been around much lately, have you? Tell David I've got a couple of Poly pictures to share with him later.

It looks like you had a fun night at your trunk or treat. We leave for WDW in two days!

Hope you have a blast!!!

Welcome back, ladies!! Sorry I am late to the party! :lmao:

Those pictures are just darling! Trunk or Treat does look like a lot of fun. They do that at my church as well and people just have a great time.

I'm not a Halloween person either, but a Disney Halloween and Trunk or Treat at church are both things I enjoy.

I'm glad you have seen the pictures that Jill has up.

Have you ever looked on the allrecipes site? They have all kinds of recipes, and you can convert the measurements for whatever amounts you want. Give it a try, if you haven't. You will probably find what you are looking for.

I know they were so cute! How about a picture? :)

We did have a fun evening.

If I must! ;)

Such little guys! This year it's all about superheroes here: a Batman and a Spiderman. I think Aileen is going to do Winnie the Pooh, unless I think of something else before Saturday.

I scored them because when you stay at a moderate, like we did (we thought we were really hot stuff!) they leave them out for your coffee! :dance3: I don't drink coffee, but I swiped the cups anyway! ;)

I think I feel cheated -- our room at CBR had Celebration cups -- cute, but I would have loved some Halloween-themed ones. I did nab the 15 Celebration ones left in our room though. :lmao: I like your idea of using them for cookie decorating! :thumbsup2
