Brooklynn takes Bella to meet Cinderella! Page 242 Downtown Disney

oops. :upsidedow Love the the souvenirs you got! The pins are so cute, I can see how someone can get addicted to them.

That's a lot of glitter in Brooklynn's hair! She certainly was styling though and makes that pink goop look good! :goodvibes

Yes, one could really get into the pin thing if they had some money. There are pins for parks, resorts, rides, special events, etc. They are a nice souvenir, but you just have to limit yourself a little.

She was stylin' with her hair full of sparkles! :cutie:

Have you seen the thread with the Dooney & Bourke Disney bags? They are too cute. There is a wristlet, a smallish one with a tassle, and a large tote bag. They are white with Disney characters on them. I'm not sure how to post a link to it. It's under the theme parks community thread, I think.

Did you guys see Southwest is having a $25,$50 sale on way flights in for some dates in Dec and Jan.?
Didn't mean to hijack the thread or be an enabler! I don't know if I could convince my boys to go back so soon though. My b'day is in Jan and I'm hoping to go for Sping Break.

Are you all going to the Candlelight Processional? We are going on the 28th. I can't wait, but my DH and DS aren't too excited about going.

I've already checked the March flight prices, so you aren't an enabler. I can get $102 down and $158 back, and usually they will drop at some point in time. I shouldn't even be looking, but if everything were to fall exactly into place, you never know. ;)

I hope to see Candlelight Processional from standing in the back, as I did last year.

Brooklyn's haircut and glitter are just too cute!

I wonder what I would look like with some Mickey glitter in my hair?

You would look just mahvelous!

What great pics! Loved them all! Very cute purse. Brooklyn's hair did look cute but gooey! I am sure Cayley would have made a mess of it.
CP-I was thinking the same thing and I think we would look FABULOUS!!

Yeah, a little too gooey.

Be sure to show us a picture when you guys get your hair all fancied up. :)

Good point! I gotta get the conditioning started early!

Brooklynn was hearing Disney music before she was born, and Bella was even moreso, because Brooklynn listened to and sang along to Disney CD's daily. Never too early to develop an appreciation for Disney tunes. :goodvibes

Love Brooklyn's hair!!! Awww she is so cute!!!! I'm really enjoying reading more and more about your trip MeMom!!!!! Must confess I have often thought of getting my hair done like that...but well I'm a chicken LOL!

Great update :thumbsup2 Cute pictures of the parade , so neat that they kept waving all the way to the gate ! I have that Mickey purse w/ Walt holding Mickey's hands & I love it , got it two years ago in the firehouse on Main street , back then it was the only place you could find it ! Brooklyn's hair turned out so cute , I know what you mean about the colored gel , DS got it in his hair at BBB and it takes forever to dry , he's 5 and still had it smeared every where , it was on our stroller , his car seat and even my shirt . It just took way to long to dry even longer than the 15 minutes they told me it would take, try the whole day .LOL

Can't wait to read more ! popcorn::popcorn::

::yes:: Let's do it next time! :lmao:

Again I will say, we will need to see pictures.

One time when my Ds got some gel and glitter, I got some glitter too. It was fun, but messy! It seems like the gel washed out pretty easy. Of course some of it got rinsed out when we went on Splash Mtn. That night when we got back to the room and I tried to brush it out of his hair before his bath....it was everywhere..I'm sure mousekeeping loved cleaning it up, it was mostly in the batroom though.

I bet mousekeeping has seen some crazy colored bathtub rings this past week or so. I know Brooklynn's red hair spray this time made the tub a pretty pinkalicious. I'm sure they have seen it all and cleaned up about everything imagineable. Poor souls!

Great set of updates. LOVE the souvenir shopping pics. Disney sure does offer some great shopping, doesn't it?! :rolleyes1

Brooklyn is too cute getting her hair done in the barbershop. She does not look too sure about it at all in the first pic!

LOVE the purse with just a hint of Disney. :thumbsup2 I hope it is waiting for you in December! With a matching wallet. And sunglasses case. :rolleyes1 :goodvibes

I think she was a little unsure of a man doing her hair. That was a little different for her, I guess. But, he talked to her and she began to relax and all was well.

If it is meant to be, the purse will be ther and I will have the money to buy it. I haven't seen any like that in parks or other resorts, and believe me, I have looked. Someone here said they had seen it, though, so I may not have to go to POFQ to get it.

I think that purse is awesome! It's one of the ones I always debate on getting and then I never do.

Haha, love the pic of Bella watching Brookie under her hat!

Ooooh I bet you and Jill had fun cleaning Brookie's hair after that! :thumbsup2

I debate with myself about a lot of purchases. I usually tell myself no.

Bella just hung out in that carrier. She still fit in it quite well on this trip. Maybe by December she will start getting to heavy for it.

brooklynn is rockin' with that hair! :thumbsup2

um...i was gonna guess wilderness lodge but i know you will actually be staying there later. so i'm gonna go with fort wilderness.

You are so savvy about our trip planning.

Awww, how cute that she got her hair cut and fixed up with thick pink goo! :goodvibes I showed Chad the pictures and gave him the look....but before I could say anything he shook his head no! :rotfl2: I told him it would be really cute to let Hollie get her haircut at Disney!

Yes, Hollie needs a haircut, even if she doesn't do sparkles and goo. Brooklynn has had three haircuts there, I think.

Brooklynn looks so adorable with her hair all done up! Soon Bella will be getting hers done, too!

Love the purse you're considering!

Denise

Bella doesn't have much hair yet, but in two years, she'll be sitting in the chair beside her sister.

I'm glad you like the purse. I wanted all black and a hint of Disney, and that one fits the bill.

I'm sure I had my oldest DD conditioned to fall asleep to 'Wishes' every time we were in the car on the way home at the end of the day - I started that way before she was born!!

But be warned - at just turned two now she puts her own requests in -
"mall world please mommy" (for small world). And just recently since we came home from our DLParis trip "Mickey car" (Stars and Cars has moved to Disneyland Paris and we already had the music from our WDW parade CD).

Brooklynn puts in her requests, too, so we are familiar with that. That girl knows the words to everything!

I miss Stars and Cars. That was a great parade. I guess we should plan a trip to Paris to see it. ;)

THANK YOU!!!!!!!! I really appreciate you posting that picture! I really like that bag. We may have to make a pit stop at PO! My DH will be thrilled.:rolleyes1

Just leave me one purse, please. :)

I have seen those bags on someone's TR but I don't remember which one. They are VERY cute, but I am VERY frugal and would NEVER pay that much for a bag. I wouldn't even be able to enjoy it if I had spent that much on it.:)

I got that same deal from SW this morning. That is an amazing offer!!! I wish I had gotten one that cheap for my trip. They has lots of destinations for $25!!!

I wish BNA to MCO would be $25. I would be planning all kinds of trips!

Aww, Brooklyn's hair looks so cute!!! But I can see it being a bit messy for you guys!!! How fun for her, thought!:cutie:

Love the Disney bag you're hoping to get, it's very subtle but will remind you of your happy place. Hope you can pick it up in December!!!:goodvibes

I hope so, too. I walked by it fifty times during the trip, but I just didn't have $68 extra this time.

Brooklynn looks so cute with her new hair cut and 'do! I like the bag too!

Thanks on both counts!

Love Brooklynn's hair! Pink's my favorite color so that's what I would have picked too :cutie:

I really think the Move It Shake It Celebrate It parade is so cute. Thanks for the pictures! :goodvibes

We enjoy the interaction in that parade, too, and of course the kids love getting to move it and shake it out on the street!

Loving your report and photos. Was Bella jealous that she didn't get a hair do too? Those girls are so cute. I don't blame Brooklynn it would feel weird to me also to have that in my hair, but it sure was cute.
I will tell you I really like the purse you picked out. I'm a one purse woman and it's very hard for me to find just the right one. It has to be brown or black, not to big or small, straps just the right length and not heavy or stiff. I know all that just for a purse. When I find one I carry it until it is worn out .About how much did those cost? I probably won't make over to French Quarter when I'm there in 10 days, but maybe I'll find something in the park.

Also, I need your and Jills help. As you know I am taking my best friend and her granddaughter in 10 days for their first trip. My friend and I are both turning 45( me 10/31 and her 11/9) we will be there on her birthday. Avery her granddaughter is 2. Okay I've never been with anyone under 8 so I need advice. It will be a quick trip we land on Sat. 11/7 at about 11:30 and leave Tue 11/10 no time park time that day. Since we will only have 2 1/2 days in the parks I plan on just hitting Animal Kingdon and Magic Kingdom. I tryingto get out of park hoppers so I was thinking of hitting Animal Kingdon when we get there Sat. Do ya'll think that is enough time to see the parade, see lion king, do the safari, maybe the petting station and maybe bugs life?
I really think we will need 2 days to do Magicc kingdon right and take times for naps. I need a game plan for Fantasy Land. Where to go first and what not. Any advice would be great.

~Rhonda~

We're just alike on the purses. I bet Jill was thinking I could have written those same words. Some people spend hundreds on a purse, but I couldn't even bring myself to do the $68. If it had been for Jill or as a gift, I would have not thought twice about it, but spending that much on myself- that's a little much.

Our Fantasyland plan is alway get there at rope drop and do Dumbo and Peter Pan first. Then do Winnie-the-Pooh, Snow White, and Philharmagic. Small World and the Carrousel are usually pretty easy to get onto, but just be sure DUmbo and Peter Pan are first, because they get long.

I think I would skip Bug's Life with a two year old. Sometimes they get scared. If you do the safari, Lion King, Jammin' Jungle, and Rafiki's, you'll be cramming in a lot. The petting station part is pretty much just goats, so you could always ditch that and put something else in its place, like Triceratop Spin, which is a Dumbo ride, or go over to Camp Minnie-Mickey and get pictures with the characters in their safari gear, which is kind of cool.

Anyone else can feel free to throw in your ideas and experiences here for arkie. I'm thinking off the top of my head right now, but may have more of an opinion when I have time to think about it.

Brooklynn's hair looked so cute! :lovestruc

I love that purse-hopefully they will still have it in January. :goodvibes

I'll try not to take the last one in December!

Great update. Love the purse! We went to Riverside to catch the boat to DTD-now I wish I would have went in the stores!

Isn't the boat ride so pretty and peaceful?

I could spend a whole day just walking around the stores of DTD.

Hi MeMom and Jill! I have been lurking for a little bit, so I decided its finally time to post now that you are home from your latest trip. I am very jealous that you guys go so often!

I love all your pictures, especially the shopping pics! :thumbsup2 And Brooklyn and Bella are the cutest! It is so much fun to see Disney through kids' eyes, isn't it?

Love that Mickey bag- I think that is the perfect subtle Disney bag for everyday! I'm sure it won't still be there next September! :sad2:

Looking forward to reading more!

So glad you joined us!

Have Brooklynn and Bella makes Disney World even more special than ever, no doubt.

We try to get our money's worth out of our AP's, and in turn Disney World and Southwest make a killing off of us.

that is the way I did it my teacher also suggested it in a round about way cuse am always lossing my thumb drive

:upsidedow Dontcha hate losing things?

OMG! That pink goo is so awesome and scary at the same time! I agree a little less would have been better but It still looks cute :)
I love all the glitter and confetti though!

We liked the glitter, too. :goodvibes

We're glad to have you along, by the way. Welcome to the group!

I am lucky I am saving a little spending money each week until December. Your shopping pics have shown me so much I want to get!

I can't wait to see your WL pics!!!!!

That's what I have to do - save a little each week. Only it doesn't always work so well.

Wilderness Lodge was beautiful. We'll see if I got some decent pictures of it.

Great souveniers MeMom! This trip is sort of a budget one for us too, being that it's so close to Christmas. With gas going up and groceries costing so much, I'm even thinking about maybe cancelling a TS meal or two. The economy is not fun right now. I think you brought home some fun goodies. Love Brooklynn's pink hair! So fun and cute! :)

We're not even doing presents for Christmas. My present to everyone is a steak dinner at Kona and a place to sleep while we're there. Other than that, they're all paying for their own stuff this time. I love doing it when I can, but sometimes I can't, and they know that and are more than happy to pay their way. Everyone has an AP paid for except Drew, because we never know if he is really going or not.

I will enjoy listening to the Christmas music as we get ready for the holidays and our trip. :)

Brooklynn is so cute with her pink hair and glitter! I remember seeing that on Trent's Facebook.

I wanted to tell you about this -- last night, after I told my B/F about getting our ADR's (he has never been to Disney but listens to me about it), he read aloud a Facebook status from someone -- something about "Bella" and getting Disney dining reservations. I asked him if he had gotten into my Facebook somehow and he said, "no, why?" I was like, "well, I have friends from those Disney boards on Facebook, one of them has two daughters, and the youngest one is Bella." He then proceeded to ask how old the older one was, I said three. He asked how old the younger one was and I said she was about six months. THEN he asked if it was Katie (since we text a LOT and he kinda feels like he knows her from me mentioning her a lot -- dunno why he thought it was her but he was really confused, as was I :rotfl:) Then he just looked at me and said really slowly, "is this friend's name...Cathy?" And I said, "no...Jill." It was really confusing but really funny -- it turns out that the Facebook update was from his cousin who has two daughters the SAME ages as Brooklynn and Bella (and one who shares a name with Bella), and he thought that I had been talking to her via the DIS, not knowing it was her. :rotfl2:

I have been enjoying your report for quite some time, so I wanted to make my first post to you! We just returned from Disney on Saturday. It was a first time trip for my two daughters. I got many ideas from you and Jill on fun things to do on our trip.

Disneygirlstripend10-09027.jpg

I can't stand to look at them all trapped inside there. I have them in the back room with the door closed so that they don't haunt me.

Still, SO sweet for you to think of us :goodvibes and to boot you don't even like the packages :rotfl:. Makes me even more grateful that you thought of me!! :upsidedow

Some people spend hundreds on a purse, but I couldn't even bring myself to do the $68.

:scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1:Did you say $68!?!?! I know it is a Disney item being sold at Disney World.......... but that is a bit rich for my blood. I didn't even think to ask you how much it was. Oh well. I guess that will have to wait. I just can't bring myself to spend that much on a purse. I know plenty of people would think that I am cheap, but I can't help it. That's a lot of money to me. But I agree, I'd probably spend that on my DD without too much hesitation. It's a mom thing I guess.

We're glad you are enjoying the report. I wish I could spend more time doing a better job on it, but work and chores get in the way. Jill has less time than I do, because she has little ones to attend to when she gets home. I hope to put up more pictures either tonight or for sure Friday night. Friday night is crash night for this old schoolmarm, so it's a good night for me to have time to do pictures.

If you do get your hair done, you might just tell the stylist to go a little easy on the goo. :)

Same with us - it took a good while for it to be safe. We used a lot of napkins and baby wipes for a couple of hours.

More pictures tonight or tomorrow, depending on what's going on around here tonight. I know that as soon as I get home, I'll be fixing some BBQ ribs that I have sitting in the fridge. After that, it should be an open evening for picture posting.

yes mema expecialy when it has my work on it

Yep, school is hard enough without setbacks like that.

Did you have just the greatest trip with your kids? We'd love to hear all about it. It makes me feel good that we helped your family have a more magical time in some small way. How was the weather for you? It was getting warmer the day we left, but it was also starting to rain, too. The Disney sky always 'cries' along with us the day we leave. The last four times we have left, it was raining after either little or no rain our entire trips! :sad1:

Thanks for honoring us with a first post! Please make yourself at home here.

Still, SO sweet for you to think of us :goodvibes and to boot you don't even like the packages :rotfl:. Makes me even more grateful that you thought of me!! :upsidedow

Like I said, I have them hidden in the back room so that I don't think about them!

I'm cheap, too. I have to divide the days I will use it by the cost, though, and it will come out to be a good deal, because I use one purse for forever. $68 divided by forever turns out to be a pretty good deal per day, I guess.

Yeah, it's a mom thing. It's so much easier to rationalize purchases for your kids and grandkids than for yourself.

******************************

We are going on a field trip today, only it's not to a field. We are going to a play called Seussical at a local university. We'll come back, eat lunch, have a Halloween snack and a movie, and then it will be time to leave. Should be a good day! :)

We hope you all have a good day, as well. The weekend is almost here!

I wish we still went on field trips and had Halloween snacks and movies. High school is so boring :lmao:

There are a TON of sick kids in my school. A mix of swine flu and seasonal flu. It finally caught me. Seasonal flu, not swine  I've been sick since Monday night. We're not positive it's the flu, but does it really matter what it's called? It stinks anyway  But I'm on the mend and I'm going back to school tomorrow. I'm afraid of all the make up work I'm gonna get :scared1: The only fun part is spending the last 3 days on the couch with the laptop. Extra DIS time :rotfl:

Hi MeMom. Sorry have not been around too much. Life has been totally crazy with sick kids, work, uh... life :0)
Just wanted to let you know I saw the purse you like at the shop in the Contemporary on my one day visit friends trip a couple of weeks ago, if that makes it easier for you to find it. :0)

Just checked in to read your latest update. Brooklynn's hair is so cute. Love all the Mickey head confetti!! I also have the purse that Walt is holding Mickey's hand. I love it. I do rotate purses with the seasons but I usually do not spend too much on my purses either. I wait until JC Penney is having a sale & if I see one I like I might get it. I am VERY picky when it comes to purses!! But I just had to have that Walt & Mickey purse when I saw it.

ok - so I am at least 25 pages behind. This whole wedding planning has been taking a complete toll on me... well that and we are re-doing our Kitchen..
I hope you are all doing well and I cannot wait to have a few moments to catch up on this great report. I really miss all of my Dis friends.

oooo - no disney wedding...but my NY wedding is entirely disney themed... everthing from my ceremony music (someday my prince will come instrumental) to the Beauty and the beast prologue. I have mickey votives and getting a pirates of the carribean and minnie mouse ice sculpture. I ordered a cinderella castle wedding cake. All my table settings are named after characters and my save the dates were disney inspired. I even have cinderella champagne flutes and my bride and groom ears... and don't forget the mickey confetti... The list goes on and on and on... I told Joe it would have been cheaper to get married there. :rotfl2:

Hey can I use your disney theme idea I love it. It is almost as good as having it @ the world

We did haircuts for the boys at the barber shop last winter. They are so gentle and sweet. I just really am amazed by then. We had asked Doug about getting some of the gel and he was horrified. From the stories I've heard about the goopiness, I think I am glad he didn't!
