Brooklynn takes Bella to meet Cinderella! Page 242 Downtown Disney

Are any of your kids Disney kids?

I was wondering the same thing - do you find opportunities to talk Disney in the classroom?
I'll never forget the time one of my 7 year old students got all animated and recounted the tale of how whilst he was on a safari at Disney something really exciting happened and they had to save a baby elephant from some poachers! I stopped short of saying "us too!". :rotfl2:

Love the Disney touches in the classroom. I used to do the same - a few plushies and my favourite when I was with the little ones - a Disney A-Z and 1-20.

No, no definitely not crazy in the least, even hypothetically.;):rotfl2:

Can you imagine having your classroom in Disney World?:yay:

Memom,

Your room looks great. Brooklynn's picture with the "Steps" is great, and I love the picture of her with Mike and Sullly. You had a really clever idea for using your pins.

You have really entertaining dreams. I love your latest one. The best part is the Disney parade coming down the hall and you having to take pictures. :rotfl:

Thanks for sharing your experiences, I feel like I have known you all forever. I would love to meet you all one day.

I love love love your classroom! Wanna come help decorate mine? Your kids will love the Disney touches!
DH is going with me tomorrow to help set up. My bum ankle is really putting me behind...I figured I would be done by now! Oh well, I'm glad he is able to come help and it will get done somehow!

I'm going to have to take a trip to the Disney Store soon to see if I can find a halloween bag. Hannah has been begging to go and I went without her last time I went...she was not very happy with me.

MeMom, I want to come and teach with you but I'd like to have a classroom with a roof please!
AND if you are out purchasing those Halloween bags.....:rolleyes1

MeMom,

I am coming to TN tomorrow! I will have to keep a look out for that Mickey Halloween Bag, I think I may need a few for our October trip...

Remember, I moved to second grade this year. Are you willing to start your education over from that level? I'll see if there are any extra seats available. It'll have to be in the back, since you might be taller than the average second grader.

That's right! No more testing. Ok, I'm coming back. I'm only 5'2" so hopefully I won't stick out too much. ;)

Your Disney touches in the classroom are great! When I worked at the school I made a huge Mickey in a race car-we were racing to kindergarden! I enjoyed working with the kids!
I can't wait to get one of the Halloween bags in Oct. We don't have a Disney store around here anymore!

Great classroom pics! I can't remember school being that exciting and fun when I was there!

I thought of some great news to share with you today - my Dad asked my Mum what she wanted for her birthday and she said "to go and see Mickey Mouse and ride Big Thunder Mountain" (because she wouldn't go on it on her own in November when we went and I couldn't because I was baking Toby in my oven!!!) so................ he's booked them a week in Orlando!!! They depart London on 27th August and she will be there for her birthday on 29th August.

I suddenly remembered today about the "What will you Celebrate" promotion and said she could get in for free!!! She is very excited so she will definitely be visiting the MK on her actual birthday. She is even excited about getting a badge to wear and CMs singing Happy Birthday to her!!!

I'm so excited for her but of course very jealous! They plan to spend 1 day at MK and 1 day at AK (Mum's favourite park) and 1 day at DTD shopping and the rest relaxing at their hotel (off-site!). They would like to have dinner at Boma on Mum's birthday so please keep everything crossed I can make an ADR for her! I think I will also arrange a cake for her afterwards!

Anywhere... where is this report?!?!?!

Hi Memom and Jill :wave2: Just wanted to come out of lurkdom and say hi. I've been reading and enjoying your trip reports for quite a while now, ever since my daughter (Megablocks) told me how much fun it was over here in your neck of the woods! :) Thank you so much for sharing your adventures. :goodvibes

Hi MeMom, Jill and family,
Re-coming out of lurkdom. I posted a couple times on last year's summer TR but haven't been on much lately. Can't get on anymore at work so it's hard to find the time sometimes at home.

Anyway, you all have so much fun here that I just wanted to join in. I'm having major withdrawals since our June trip and probably won't be back until next summer, so I'll enjoy reading about your fun and help me relive all of our memories too. Maybe someday I'll write my own TR.

I love all your pictures, your Disney touches in your classroom, and your beautiful granddaughters.

Thanks for sharing!

Alice

I guess I too will come out of lurkdom. I have enjoyed all your previous trip reports. This one has helped pass the time as I recover from knee surgery.
Love all the early morning pictures of the resorts. Hope to get some myself next month.

Your boards look fantastic. I have 3 grandkids that started school yesterday. Jacob and Grace are in 2nd and Christian is in Kdg. they would love to come into a room like that everyday. Are any of your kids Disney kids?

I don't know yet. I will meet them tomorrow and we'll see what kinds of reactions I get.

One of my students from year before last went to Disney World in June with his family. They stayed at All Star Sports, I believe. He was so excited about the trip at the end of last school year. Every time he'd see me in the hall, he'd tell me his countdown. There's a family that goes once a year, too, and I think they are going during fall break this year.

I sneak in a few Disney books here and there during Rocker Reading time. That's when they gather around my rocking chair and I just read fun books - nothing that involves a particular subject. They like Disney, Berenstain Bears, Clifford, Amelia Bedelia, etc.

I would like to work in the educational department in Animal Kingdom. That would be a great combination of my teaching and my Disney addiction!

I have had some crazy dreams, for sure. I once dreamed that I was trying to make a phone call, but it wasn't going through. You had to feed the phone with M&M's instead of coins, and I was down to my last M&M! It was so frustrating, because it was an old dial phone and there were no numbers! I was having to guess ho far to turn the dial!. Yeah, that was a weird dream.

We'd love to meet you, too! You can always come to the Poly beach on NYE! ;)

I love love love your classroom! Wanna come help decorate mine? Your kids will love the Disney touches!

I would if you lived closer. Between your bum ankle and my bum knee, we'd be a sight!

How dare you let Hannah know you went to the Disney Store without her!

MeMom, I want to come and teach with you but I'd like to have a classroom with a roof please!

I prefer a roof, too, but if it's near the Brown Derby, I might reconsider.

I will go to the Disney Store on Sunday afternoon. If you want one, just let me know before Sunday morning so I'll know how many to get.

I am coming to TN tomorrow! I will have to keep a look out for that Mickey Halloween Bag, I think I may need a few for our October trip...

Anywhere near Nashville? I have to be in school all day tomorrow, but you are welcome to come see my classroom! :)

That's right! No more testing. Ok, I'm coming back. I'm only 5'2" so hopefully I won't stick out too much. ;)

No more testing for now, anyway. They told us it'll only be a few years before 2nd is testing. I give up!!! :sad2:

There are so many good ideas for 'sneaking' some Disneyness into our everyday lives! :thumbsup2

Love your classroom Memom!!! I want to come to school at your school!!!:goodvibes

Come on!

Wish I were going into 2nd grade instead of 11th

Such a cute classroom!

Next year, you'll be so glad you are a senior!

Very nice for your mom! MK and AK sounds like an excellent plan, and then lots of time for relaxing!

There is a report; I promise. Just a little bit longer.

If you're kin to Megablocks, then you're welcome here. Such a sweet girl! I know you are proud of the fine young lady she is! We do have fun over here, and we actually write reports, if you can hang around long enough for us to get started!

Let us know if you write a trip report. I love to see other people's pictures. Reports are time consuming, though, and there is a commitment in doing them.

I'm glad you like my beautiful girls. I like them, too! :goodvibes

So very glad you chimed in!
We'll look forward to seeing your morning pictures. How long will you be there?

Please tell me all about your knee - symptoms, diagnosis, and what you had done. Mine is not good, and I have to just make that phone call to the doctor soon.

This has been a good day for new readers, or at least new readers who spoke up! We are very glad to have you all!

We will be there for 5 nights. One night at Saratoga Springs and then moving over to Bay Lake Tower for the last 4 nights. I have never been when everything is decorated for Halloween, so I am really looking forward to it. Hopefully this will be a pain free trip.
As for my knee, I have had arthritis for years in both knees. I had a cortisone shot about 6 or 7 years ago that helped a lot until about 7-8 months ago. I tried several different non surgical treatments until I got to where I couldn't stand to walk at all. I was hoping to wait a few more years, but as a nurse if I can't walk I can't work. Right now it is just getting back to the full range of motion and strength, but as far as walking on it, it has not hurt at all like it did before surgery. Sorry if that is more than you wanted to know. I hope you find some relief soon.

*********************************

If you knew of someone who dreamed that it was the first day of school
and her classroom was on the other side of the Brown Derby
and it had walls but no roof
and it started raining as you were talking to parents
and you all had to figure out which indoor attraction to run to
and she had forgotten to put out her final list of students
and she started to the office to get it
but had to stop to take pictures of a very short Disney parade that was coming down the hall.............

would you think that someone was crazy?

Just a random question, of course! :rolleyes1

:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2::lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

Nah, I wouldn't think that person is crazy, I would think that person is someone that thinks just like me! ;)

The girls are in bed and the house really needs to be cleaned, but I finally sat down and loaded a handful of pictures so we can get started.

Trent and Jarvis were kind enough to wake up early on Saturday morning to deliver us to the airport. Our flight was at 6:30 so we got to the airport at 5:00. MeMom rode with them and then when we got to the airport we unloaded and Trent took our car so we didn't have to pay $100 to park.

Brooklynn was super excited and felt very grown up with her own bag.

We got through security fairly easy and headed to our gate. John and I left the girls with MeMom and headed to get some breakfast. The girls had on their matching "I'm going to Disney World" shirts.

We went to the Burger King and they were in no hurry. I headed back once I got our drinks and John waited for our food. When I turned the corner to the gate they were lining us up to board so I quickly put Isabella in her carrier and gathered up all our stuff and moved to the line. John arrived with the food just as they were boarding the first 30 passengers. We were numbers 33, 35, 37, and 39. There was a family of five that had the even numbers. We boarded the plane which was just half full. MeMom had a row of 3 seats to herself and John and I sat with the girls in the row in front of her.

Before we knew it we were in the air and the peanuts, wheat thins, and drinks were delivered.

Next up ... 35 pictures later we actually land in Orlando!

Hi MeMom and Jill, have been following your report since the pretrip and decided it time to chime in!! You all have such a lovely family (and Trent sure is a cutie!)

Can't wait to go to POP next month. DS is so very excited. This will be our first stay there!

Looking forward to the next installment!
