6 weeks before my very first trip to the world and what do I do........trip over a case of soda in the kitchen! Broke my pinkie toe on my left foot. Isn't much that can be done for it except taping it up. I just hope it heals in time. It's ten shades of purple and blue right now. I'm such a klutz!!!!

Don't feel bad, I stubbed and about broke my toe on a door. Who's the clutz now? It should heal, but try to stay off that "toe" as much as possible!

Ouch!
You will be fine in time for your trip.
In the meantime vicadin followed by a glass of wine can be a very effective painkiller.
Feel better!

Tape it up and use firm soled shoes. Nothing which will flex in the toe area...

I broke my toe on a coffee table at the hotel the night we arrived in Branson a couple of years ago. My husband and dad had to take turns pushing me around in a wheel chair through Silver Dollar City - it was horrible! SDC is very hilly and not paved :-( , but I couldn't put shows on for a couple of days.

You will be fine in time for the trip!

I sure hope so. I'm wearing flip flops right now. Dunno what I'll do for work tomorrow though. Can't wear flops there and my tennis shoes don't fit!!

Aww! hopefully it will be ok! :thumbsup2 Or wear flipflop's and tell them why you have to!

I broke mine 2 yrs. ago. It was horrible my toe was actually turned out pointing to the side until I reached down and popped it back in. It hurt so bad I don't know what I'd do if I broke something bigger! It took about 5-6 weeks to heal. I was lucky that I could wear sandals and fancy flip flops to work. For several weeks there was no getting that foot in a regular shoe.

Be very careful. I broke my pinky at least 4 times and the last time I did not go to the dr. It healed but inside there is a pointy bone. I have suffered with it and have had too many shots of cortisone...am having surgery on May 26 to shave down the bone. If you hve not gone to the doctor I suggest you do just to be sure you have it taped correctly. It is torture when you cannot wear ANY shoes and are not able to stand flip flops.

dont worry when i was watching the ducks game last night i hit my toe on the coffe table and of course i had a soccer game so now its all black and blue! :sad2:

I broke my toe while at Disney!! Don't worry, you should be fine by then. Heck the day I broke mine I still managed to limp all over MGM and ride the rides!! :)

I broke my pinky toe a couple of years ago. I got it caught on the leg of our coffee table and it stuck out at a funny angle for a while. My food turned all sorts of ugly colors and it hurt like heck for about a week. Once i could get a shoe on after that week things went much better. Keep it taped up til you can get a real shoe on it! On the bright side, it felt completely normal after about a month so your trip shouldn't be affected.

Those pinky toes sure do hurt for such a stupid little appendage! Hope you feel better soon!

You should be feeling much better before then. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

It could have been worse. I broke my right little toe the morning of our last trip to WDW, which was in December. I heard the crunching and all. DH kept saying that we should cancel, but I didn't want to disappoint the kids. I figured that if I rested my foot for a couple of days, I would be fine. I should have listened to DH, he was right and I couldn't have been more wrong. It was a miserable trip for me and it affected everyone else. The bruising spread all the way to the top of my foot, it was horribly painful. After about 3 weeks, my foot felt much better. I still feel some discomfort if I curl my toes under, but no problems with walking. DH jokes that he is going to buy me steel toe boots before our next trip, which is coming up soon. :teeth: :teeth:

Rest your foot, tape it and apply ice bags to the area. Feel better soon! I know it hurts. :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

I agree with the above posters: rest, ice, Advil. If you can tape the pinkie to the next toe that will stabilize it. I have broken three toes, including the one i bashed on the fireplace 10 days ago. It feels bad and looks bad for a couple weeks, but you should be fine by your trip.

I have broken my little toes many many many times and I have found that I do better to just go ahead and wear solid shoes (like tennis shoes) and just suck it up and go. I tried wearing flip flops or other things that did not touch the toe and I just ended up hitting it on other things and made the pain last longer. Yes it does hurt a bit at first (having a solid shoe on) but it gives it much better support.
