British Isle Cruise Question

You will have a nice variety of shows like comedians, magicians, trivia games, the latest movies. Don’t miss the live shows in the Walt Disney Theater. Tangled, the Musical is unique to the Magic and should not be missed. Maximus, the horse is my favorite. 😊.

Enjoy your cruise. Anticipation is half the fun!

We were on the BI cruise last September and they offered a free shuttle into Dublin. We used it twice. It won’t be mentioned in the Navigator. We just returned from the Western Europe cruise and there was a free shuttle in every port. It was announced the night before by the cruise director at the show and was on the morning TV show as well.

The Dublin port is in a very industrial area and not in a normal taxi area. I’m fairly confident you can catch the free shuttle. DCL arranges those shuttles because walking in the industrial area would be too dangerous. There is also a set of railroad tracks running through the area (our shuttle had to wait for the train to pass) so foot traffic is not advised.
KDG How often did the shuttles run from Magic to Dublin centre?

First thing in the morning, there were several city shuttles to take visitors into town. When one bus filled up, it took off and another one pulled up. Once in town, I believe the shuttles took passengers back to the ship about every 20-30 minutes. There will be announcements about the timeline including when the last shuttle of the day leaves from the city center. Traffic can be bad in Dublin, especially at rush hour times.

Greatly appreciated KDG. Dublin is a long port day and we want to see as much as we can both in and out of the city. Glad our first day is "at sea" so we can gather all of the important information. Reading these boards is so helpful. Thanks for posting! :thumbsup2
Looking forward to the entertainment on Magic as you mentioned in an earlier post. It makes it seem real! :tigger:

KDG Does every DCL have a pirate night? How do you know in advance is there are special themed nights? We haven't received any updates or info on this? Thank you!

There is a Frozen night instead of Pirate night! I think it's the night we port in Liverpool.

The cruises that go “up north” have Frozen nights with a stage show at the pool, a ship-wide scavenger hunt and light up snowflake necklaces. No fireworks. There was not any dressing up like Pirate Night except for some girls dressed in their Anna or Elsa outfits. It is a nice change when the Wonder and Magic are in the northern climates. Dress warm for the show. I was glad I had a coat, a hat and lightweight gloves on our cruise in the Baltic. The show had to be postponed a couple of hours while the crew cleared and dried the deck after a “scrapple” storm. On our BI cruise, it was just a little chilly.

Enjoy your cruise. Wish we were going again!
