britax or chicco stroller?

I am debating getting another stroller (currently own 5 strollers).

Normally I would take a sit and stand since I have 4 kids, but that is a pain getting on trams or the bus and it doesn't recline enough for naps for a little one or for changing diapers if a baby care center isn't nearby.

Last year we brought our average stroller (the kind that you can snap an infant seat into) b/c it fully reclines and an umbrella stroller for another child that we slid into the basket and wrapped on the handles when we didn't need it. That was a lot of stuff for trams and to stuff in our car.

So, this year I was thinking reclining umbrella stroller. I want to keep it around $100 (preferably less). I would bring one of our cheap umbrella strollers also.

I am looking at the Chicco Liteway. It looks like it reclines flat. It's under 20 pounds. It can hold up to 40 pounds.

I am also considering the Britax Blink. It looks like it reclines a decent amount, but not flat. I am wondering if I can still change a diaper easily in it. I am having a hard time telling when looking online. It is also about $60 cheaper than the Chicco. It holds up to 50 (55?) pounds. It is also under 20 pounds. I am leaning toward this one, but really concerned about the recline. (Anyone know how this is different than the Britax B Nimble besides the price?)

Also, I was wondering if you think either of these will attach to my other umbrella stroller with those plastic attaching clips that connect strollers. Most of the time they won't need to be connected, but if DH is off with older kids and both younger kids want to be in a stroller, I can't push them separately.

Thanks for your advice and opinions.

Hi!

I can not comment about the Chicco but I have both the Britax Blink and Britax B-Nimble (don't ask how I wound up with both it is a long story).

I like both very much. Here are the differnces. The Nimble has a removable seat cover that you can throw into the washing machine if it gets dirty. It is also a little wider and a little taller. Other than that it is pretty much the same.

Regarding the recline.. the Blink does not recline all the way but pretty far back (I actually think that the Nible reclines a tiny bit more). I would say that you could do a quick change in the stroller as far as recline goes but it is narrow so you will not have much room to work with.

The storage on both are the same. The basket is not very big but you can fit a small diaper bag. I bought a bag from Amazon that straps to the side of the stroller that gives you extra space. I would not hang anything too heavy off the back of either stroller they do tend to tip a little.

I hope this helps make your decision. If I can be of any more help let me know.

I have a britax blink and love it!!! It doesn't recline all the way back but I have enough room to change her diaper.

I have the liteway. Overall I really like it. Lightweight, easy to fold/unfold, decent push, good recline, and the sunshade is ok. The only thing I don't love is the basket area. It's basically a cinch sack bag that attaches to the frame. There is not much room in that area and the bag doesn't attach/detach easily. I can't decide if I want to take the liteway or my big jogger with me for our trip in October.

While I don't have those exact strollers. I have a Chicco and a Britax. My Britax is a work horse. It has been through 2 kids and thousands of miles (seriously). My Chicco has only been through 1 kid and shows a lot of wear and tear. It has only made 2 trips to DW and can't go again. It's been a great stroller but I just think Britax is made better. I could sell my Britax 3 times over and can't give my Chicco away. Since I have a stroller buying problem, resell is important to me :goodvibes

Thanks, everyone! This has been very helpful. I think I'm going to go with the Britax. Has anyone purchased from Albee Baby? How was your experience?

I just noticed something. These strollers were on the recall list for possible finger laceration/amputation. The stroller that is still for sale has the same model number. So am I going to get a repair kit with it or an improved stroller that just happens to have the same model number? If it is a repair kit, do I still want the stroller? Never had to deal with that before... :confused3

They are great! I'm up in Canada and had my Perego Pliko P3 shipped to the resort. I called them and asked when I should order it so that it would be there a few days before we arrived. They were very helpful and my stroller arrived safely a few days before we did.

The recall was for the hinges (just like on the Mclarans) and all the kit is, is a little wrap that goes around the main hinge. It is really easy to put on and no big deal at all. I also bought from allbee and they were fantastic. The kit comes in the box with the stroller.
