Brita Bottles?

Not this year, but if I see them on sale I'll post it. We love the Brita water bottles and always use them at WDW.
We were fortunate to find them 2 years ago on closeout at a Sam's Club for $2.00 each! I doubt we'll ever see that price again, if I do I'll snatch up all of them. :)

Go to www.ebay.com and type in Brita bottles using the search link and you will find quite a few brita bottles at a decent price.

I've found Brita bottles at Wal-Mart for $7.00, of course that's regular price. I would say based on what I've heard about the water and what the park charges for bottles that it's worth it.

Buy a used water bottle? Ouch!

Are these filters only good for one use? If not about how much water will this filter?

Thanks,
Tammy

Hi Tammy!

The filters last through numerous uses. The bottles hold about 16-20 oz. The filter will last at least several weeks or longer depending on your use.

Is there something wrong with the water at disney???Should I be afraid? Is like Mexico and Montezuma's revenge??

Filter says replace every 15 gallons or every 2-3 months depending on taste and usage.

I got my bottle at WalMart for 6.49+tax (or was it 6.99???). It came w/ one filter. Last week, I picked up a 2-pk of filters at Harris Teeter grocery store on sale for 3.99.

I looked on Ebay, and I only saw one auction for the Fill n Go. It came w/ 2 filters and was up to around 7.99 + 2.59 shipping w/ several days to go. I say just stick w/ WalMart (or another local store if you don;t like WM :D ).

Thanks Guys. I have one on my faucet at home and you get used to certain taste. I try to stay away from sodas....This will work great for our trip.

Tammy

I have tried to find these at Walmart and Kmart in PA.. No luck. I think I will try to buy once I get in Florida.

"Wrong" is a subjective term! I've consumed Orlando water in the past without any adverse affects on my system. The "problem" is the taste. I find it nasty, as do a lot of people. But it is safe and drinkable.

The Britta takes most of the "flavor" out of the water. Know that you'll put up with the "flavor" in the water, fountain sodas, and anything made with water. We stick with bottled soda and the Brittas. In my opinion, any water bottle is better than paying $2.50 a bottle for water. But that's an option, too!

Thanks I was just afraid that we were going to get there and if I had a drink of water that I was going to get sick!!:D

I just picked up 4 at Wal-Mart in York PA for 6.99. Drugstore.com has them for the same price right now w/ free shipping when you buy 25.00 or more. I thought about ordering from there and saving on tax ( a big $1.65 or something) but I wanted them now!

Here's a budget tip for you that may work for some.

We used our in-the-fridge pitcher from home for 2 weeks there. We drove down so wasn't a problem packing it dry with other items inside. Every evening & morning someone was assigned the Water Bottle job. We put all our normal bottles we usually use with their thermal "coats" & straps for carrying on a counter. Designated person filled them half-full with Brita water from pitcher in little fridge. As there were 6 of us the pitcher did have to be refilled during this process. All half-filled bottles into freezer if we had one at the hotel/condo that night.

Next morning, designated person fills up rest of bottle with cold Brita pitcher water. And we're off.

I really thought I'd be buying the Brita bottles for each of us before we went, but then the idea of x 6 AND always getting filters for them in the future (different from our usual Brita ones) didn't make as much sense as just using the one we had!

Of course, we did go during what turned out to be a quite cool Dec - January so refills during day weren't an issue. But if you are planning on mid-day hotel breaks with tired little ones it would still work.

I read (somewhere, I forgot where exactly) that a family had brought the Brita water bottles with them to MK and the water still made them sick. It helped with the taste but that was it.

I am VERY sulfur sensitive, and DO NOT want to drink the water in FL at all. We are flying so taking a cooler with water is out of the question. We will not be making a special trip to the grocery store unless it's ABSOLUTELY necessary for survival..haha.

Please give me a suggestion on what I can do to make the water drinkable.
I do have a Brita pitcher here at home and have thought about taking it and filtering water throught it at the hotel, but if it's not gonna filter out the sulfur-sickness....I don't know what do do...

Florida water has never made me sick but I think it tastes yukky. I searched all over town and finally got ripped off at Kmart and got 1 bottle for $7.99.

Aren't there little tablets that campers use to render water "safe?" Maybe those would help those sensitive to the sulphur? I

Colleen ----- The water tablets that campers use will make the water safe, but doesnt change the taste at all.... Sorry. Just a little info.

Ven ------ Be on the safe side and drink the bottle water, better than spending a day in the room if the sulfur is going to make you sick.

Time to check and double check my packing. Leaving for Universal/WDW in < 12 hours. YESSSSSSSSS:smooth:
