I am unclear about your comment regarding "horrible options for public office" based on Bristol Palin's situation. Anyone past puberty can become pregnant, and the most vigilant parents can have a DD who ends up pregnant. She made the right choice. She gave birth to the baby.

Once you run, every aspect of every person in your life is critiqued. You don't just sacrifice of yourself, you also place your loved ones in harms way. The media needs to let this girl live her life...

As little as I thought of Sarah Palin (and I thought very, very little of her), I feel bad for her kids. She could have sheltered them and didn't. The media should give them some respect and doesn't. I wish the best for all of them.

I think he meant that the minute you put your hat in the ring you have a bunch of people digging into every tiny little aspect of not only your life but that of your family. What these two do have absolutely nothing to do with what sort of job Sarah Palin would do, yet here we are still talking about it months later. So there are a lot of talented people who are put off from running for public office and I don't blame them.

Exactly! Things happen. We can show our kids the right path, but in the end their actions are really up to them. We can't be with them 24/7.

But she did the right thing and gave birth to her child.
I had when my son when I was 18, 1 month after graduation.
Maybe not my greatest moment, but it was the best thing I have ever done.
Being a single parent somedays is a struggle. But I am way better off being a single parent then being in a horid relationship.

If Bristol thinks that Levi, is not going to make a good parent or partner, then its better to get out now than years down the road.

I don't like Sarah Palin in the least bit however this can give some small amount of respect for the women.

The only way she could have sheltered them was by not running for public office. And, that's only protecting them from the media.

We can't and shouldn't shelter our kids from life. They must learn they can't please everyone and there are some nasty folks out there. Unfortunately, our kids will have to be much tougher and more resilient to get by.

Don't get me wrong. I'd love to protect them from every ill this world has to offer. But, I can't do that. First of all... it's not possible, second of all...it's not practical and lastly...it's not healthy.

They are both so young, it wouldn't surprise me if they didn't stay together. If it's true, I'm glad they found out now, early on. Life goes on. People, especially young people, make mistakes. She has her whole life in front of her to get things right.

If you believe the Star, does that mean the Globe is accurate, too? Should MSNBC be running a story on this, too? I think they all should be put in the cat box, but, then, I think keeping your sexual preference masked for convenience is both wrong and cruel to the other party and yourself.
