Bringing your own food

I read somewhere that you're not allowed to bring in any food or drink unless you have a medical need. I've been diagnosed with Candida and have been on a strict diet (I can't eat anything fun!). Would I be allowed to bring in almonds and other things I'm getting sick of eating? Do you have to prove you're sick?

Thanks,
Midori

You will not need a doctors note. We brought in sandwiches and nuts
without any problem. Just make sure everything is premade and put in baggies. We also took in our own bottled water as the water in the
parks is very expensive.

We brought in tons of food and snacks everyday (granola bars, sandwiches, lots of water), and security never said a thing.

We have always brought a few granola bars and water bottles in my backpack purse. The security people have seen them and have never said anything to us. :confused3

Maybe someone else will know for sure....

You can take food, as long as it's already prepared. No sandwich fixings but you can take in sandwiches. Stuff like that. Nuts, granola bars, baggies of chips, all acceptable. You will be fine taking in your own foods, no worries.

I have the same medical condition and it is challenging at the parks. We get a grocery delivery to out hotel room and bring in a lot of our own food into the parks. If I can help with any suggestions for a candida diet, please feel free to send a PM to me.

"Officially" it's "no outside food or drink." Unofficially, security has instructions to let through anything except a full-blown picnic basket, a hard-sided cooler or cooler on wheels. And as PP said, no glass bottles. Prepared sandwiches or whatever are fine.

We brought in water bottles, energy bars, goldfish crackers, etc. every day.

I brought in a small, soft sided cooler every day filled with sodas and ice. I also had a backpack full of food, including pb&j sandwiches, fruits & snacks. Only one time did security ask anything, and they just asked if I had any glass or alcohol.

Thank you all very much for your input. I'm glad that I'll be able to bring in the food I need. Now I'm definitely bringing a stroller to carry water! :)

In addition to no glass or alcohol, no cans. We have brought in things like sliced turkey for the kids to snack on, cheese, chips, juice, etc. No prob.

Does that mean I cannot bring in my can of Pepsi after all? :(

So I guess the Weber BBQ and rib eye steaks are out!!! :)

Hi there! I tried PMing you, but it wouldn't let me until I have 10 posts. Do you have any recommendations of food/places to eat at Disneyland? I have a reservation for Goofy's dinner and hope there will be something I can eat at the buffet. I know I'm going to want something sweet when I'm there. :(

Thanks!

I've never heard no cans, but we saw someone having to guzzle their bottle of frappucino at the bag check!

If you don't want to risk the can thing, how about a bottle of Pepsi?

I would think anything you can buy in Downtown Disney should be fair game! On my next trip I'm gonna try and grab a couple of po-boys from brennans kitchen and take em in to DL to eat riverside. Or maybe even a whole pizza from naples!
