Bringing Water Bottles into the Parks?

The Six Flags I was referring to was in Eureka, Mo (St. Louis metro area). I'm a season pass holder, and I brought water in before. Last Saturday when I was there they were confiscating it at the entrance.

If you're going to refill your plastic water bottles with Disney water, be prepared for it to taste a little funky. I saw one family w/ a water bottle that had lemon slices floating in it. I told my sister next time we should pack a lemon and a paring knife and do that. My brother-in-law brought a bottle that strapped around his waist and it was handy to have each day, but oh that Disney water! In my opinion water should not have an after-taste.

I saw someplace, on some board, that you can have only clear water bottles if you are going on any of the attractions/rides. Is this true? If so, how would the Brita work or the white plastic ones that have the thermal foam carriers.
A question for those of you that love the Britas. I have one, love the way it filters but...I have a lot of trouble getting the water out!! I squirt and suck (no comments from the peanut gallery please!!) and am not getting much water. Is this just the way it works or am I doing something wrong. Can't believe I could be using it incorrectly afterall, I can get the water out of the other water bottles!!:(

Well, if you're going to put lemon in your water, pre-slice it; I think that a paring knife would get confiscated at the gate.

I've never been stopped on any ride with my Brita bottle, and on some, I've even had it in my hand as I boarded. If you are concerned with that, I believe that the Culligan version is clear plastic.

The valve on a Brita bottle can be tricky, as it is a double-click valve. If you pull it up only halfway, water will come out, but only in a minor trickle--DS has to be watched to make sure that he doesn't put it in a backpack like that; because it will leak. At full open, it pulls out a bit more than a 1/4 inch, I would say. Also, you need to keep at least 3 inches of water in it to keep the flow going through the filter, because it draws the water in only through the end of the filter; less water than that, and it won't come out through the spout properly.

My husband got a case of bottled watter from Wal-Greens while we were going through Jacksonville (for about $5). We froze most of them and put about 6 in the bottom of our stroller everyday and it came in handy! That was probably the most water I've ever drank on a trip and I felt better walking around then I had in a long time!

I hope this doesn't sound too "deep" or opinionated, but I agree about drinking water and feeling good. Water is life. :D

The Brita idea with the holster could be great and I'm going to try it. Thanks everybody!

I was at a concert last week, (coincidentally in ST. Louis), and was told their rule was only water in factory sealed water bottles would be let in. I guess to keep people from filling them with alcohol, etc. ?
Not sure how this applies to this thread, but just thought I'd share. :p

Pre-cut your lemon and freeze it overnight, then toss it in with the ice cubes first thing. Your water will be lemony all day and you won't have to squeeze it (the juice expands inside the little sacs when you freeze it, which bursts the sacs and sets the juice free as it thaws.
Please do not bring paring knives (or any other kind of knife) into the park. If you need to cut any food, plastic knives are available at all counter-service locations.
