We are going on our 1st Disney Cruise in May 2005. It will be myself, DH, DS 6, DD 3 and D infant 8 mos. How would we go about doing any excursions and traveling with the little guy? I would never go into a taxi without restraints. I was just wondering if I would be staying on the ship for those days at Grand Caymen and Cozumel. Just wondering how other families did it. Thanks for you help.

The only excursions you'd be able to book with DCL are very limited because you're traveling with an infant. There will be a few in each port, but are usually bus tours or a beach day. Even the beach day would require a ride in a bus or a taxi to get there, which usually a car seat is not allowed, especially a bus. In both ports, you can get off the ship and walk around and do some shopping. If you wanted to go somewhere, you could get a taxi and bring your own car seat, but my experience in the islands is that seat belts are few and far between, even in taxis. The safety laws in the Caribbean are much more lax than here in the States, so don't expect to find a taxi with good working seatbelts without looking a lot. You could rent a car yourself and drive around and tour yourself, that would probably be your best option if you want to see the ports.
