I know lots of people bring snacks into the parks and don't have any trouble with security.

What about bringing in drinks (juice boxes, bottles of water, cans of soda). Will I have trouble bringing in these types of things?

What has been your experience?

Thanks,

I took a small, soft cooler into the parks during our trip last March. It holds about a six-pack of pop and then some. I had water bottles and juicepacks for the kids, plus some small snacks. They checked the cooler (for guns or knives or whatever they look for in our post-9/11 world) but had no problem with me taking these items in.

This worked out well. We always buy meals but my "extras" came in handy. Too much pop makes everyone feel bad and I find Florida water gross (although I worship Florida in all other respects!) If the kids were hungry and it wasn't quite time for lunch I dug into my snack reserves.

Have fun!

Just one piece of advice...I saw a family try to bring in a six pack of Nestea glass bottles. They were told they could not. Meanwhile, I was right behind them with 4 bottles of Gatorade and had not one problem.

So yes, you can bring in beverages, but make sure they're in plastic bottles!

We always bring water and never have a problem.

But, I bet Poohnatic is right--no glass containers

We just returned from eight days in all four parks....no problem with bringing food/drinks from the outside at all....they are specifically looking for items that can be dangerous to others....they have no concern regarding foods/drinks, etc....

we visited the parks 11/9 through 11/16 and brought a soft sided cooler with us filled with water bottles and juice boxes. Absolutely no problem. The cooler (and all of our bags) were inspected. Bringing in the water and juice saved us at least $15.00 a day, which we were happy to spend on other things. It also saved time since we didn't have to wait on line for a drink or find a restaurant when someone was thirsty.

We often if not always bring in drinks with us. I think the only rule is no glass.

I called Disney prior to my trip asking about this. The CM said bringing in juice and water was okay. I didn't ask about pop, but I guess that's okay too. I will even drink my water with a counter service meal. S

I would suggest if you are brining soda pop (Coke, etc) to bring the plastic bottles instead of cans.

We were just there 11/30 and I brought tons of water, juice boxes and snacks. One time I opened my bag and a couple of mini snickers fell out and the security guy said "You'll have to leave this bag with us" I was all worried and then he smiled. I should have offered him a snickers-- I'm not a quick thinker :)

I have always brought in frozen bottles of water without any problem.

Last month my boys put some of their Halloween candy in a zip lock bag and other than the security guard saying "trick-or-treat":) nothing else was said.

We also always bring in water bottles & snacks & have never had a problem. It is a huge money saver. :p

We have always brought in our own drinks. We started doing this with our baby. We packed the baby bottles in the little cooler. Not only do they not have a problem with it - but the front desk said we could get ice from the vendors to pack around the drinks. The ice is made from reclaimed water and as long as you make it clear that you are NOT going to use it IN your drinks they'll give it to you.
We mix our drinks - chilled and frozen - so we have drinks to start with.
Also, I pack some snacks in my backpack - but now that the boys are 3 and 6 - they have to carry some of their own snacks.
I pack snacks that are alike in large zip loc bags so it makes it easier going through bag check.
Pretzels, hard chips, fruit snacks, fruit roll ups are all good.
Anything with chocolate will melt - fun. And anything soft gets smushed.
Hard candies are good.
We always use the plastic bottles. The kids get the straps and bottle tops. It sounds silly but they do make it easier for the kids to carry the bottles around.

We have carried bottled water and caned soda into the park with no problems. We have a insulated backpark cooler that we pack with our drinks and ice from the resort in baggies brought from home. The backpack is easy to carry. We however mostly carry this on warmer days when we tend to drink more. We like to tour very light!

I've been told "small snacks and drinks are permitted." In terms of food, it's actual meals that they're concerned about, sandwiches and the like.

We bring in sandwiches, snacks, drinks, etc. They check out our cooler, and narry a word has ever been mentioned.

Yup; they'll allow in a lot more than the minimum "allowed" based on the rules.
