I'm in. I'm a single mom, although my little brother is traveling with us this time. He's single too, so he'd probably be interested too.

Hi Sue,
I just decided on the cruise this past week - so I don't have my "cruise folder" organized yet. I'll keep a running list of everyone interested in the brunch/tea and once I get the info on how to book it I'll check w/you all to pick a day. Sound okay?

Hi Dee, I think this is a good idea. finding a time when everyone is available might be difficult for the first couple of days. maybe sometime sunday after we set sail? I think some of the girls want to see the magic fountains cause they saw it in the cheetah girls movie. maybe we can all do that on saturday night.

we have a cruise meet thread going revolving around the girls. it's called transatlantic august repo - age 10-12 group or something like that. haven't figured out how to post the link yet.

btw, melanie got an email from alexis. thanks.

ellen

My boys want to see the magic fountain for the same reason. Who knew the Cheetah Girls could be so influencial. :)

WOW!! A ladies brunch or tea sounds great! I am interested!

Linda

Hi Linda,
I forgot how to multi-quote reply - I am going to keep a list of everyone who's exrpressed interest in the brunch/tea and once I've got the info I'll check w/all to pick a day. Sound okay w/you?

Its raining & nasty in Gib today(but come August it will be HOT!)
thought Id post a couple of things that sprung to mind as I charged down Main Street this morning!!!
INTERNET-take laptop to "Gibralter arms"(MainSt)order a coffee or coke "lite"&use there connection in nice surroundings,no charge.

MAGAZINES/PAPERS/PAPERBACKS-great place to stock up for the sea days .(In English & reasonable prices)
ALSO SEA SICKNESS Meds,or infact any medication,as there are 2-3 really good pharmacys in Main St
Prices, dont forget these are shown in £ (everywhere EXCEPT the post office will accept euros)GIB is REALLY EXPENSIVE.
Ifyou need to change $ there are plenty of currency exchange booths in Main St to do this at decent rates.
FOOD-dont,thats all Im going to say on the subject!
Any? regarding the rock,I will be happy to try to help,
Sue:coffee:

Are you there now? I am very interested in finding out more about the area. We have decided to do a taxi tour of the rock, but I would like to experience more if time allows.

Tea/Brunch sounds like great!
Please count me in too. Will probably be 2 - my daugher and I.
Thanks
Charmaine

I know my daughters would love to do this. They are already so excited since they have started emailing a couple of girls their ages. This would be a great way to meet each other.

As for a Dis meet, one idea may be the fist sea day (Aug 20), early afternoon? That is what we are doing on the 10 day. It would be nice to place a face with the names of everyone!

Linda

Would love to be included in the Dis meet. We would probably have a problem with Aug 20th .... it's the date of our 25th anniversary and we have a lot planned etc. for the day.

Chris,
Sounds great to me. By the beginning of this cruise I would have spent 36 days traveling with my loving husband, 3 daughters and in-laws. (Aw, Togetherness!!?)
I believe I will need "my time" or alcohol or both!!! Since I do not swim I cannot jump! Darren (my husband) and I have Palo brunch on Aug 29th. Other than that I planned on relaxing.
Thank you for organizing this. I cannot wait to meet everyone.

Linda

Does Spain observe Daylight Savings time, or is this a US thing? What time is it there now?

Yes they do observe Daylight Savings time in Europe even though their start and end dates are a little different. Spain, Italy and France are all on CEST Central European Summer Time at the moment and are 6 hours ahead of the current east coast USA and 9 hours ahead of the west coast USA.
Here is a cool Timezone tool to use: http://www.timeanddate.com/

We are booked the same day. We will be celebrating our Anniversary and taking a monent to spend alone. If we are there at the same time lets make sure to say hello.

Our anniversary is actually August 7th but we decided to celebrate on the cruise.
