DS9 woke me up at 6AM today, crying that his throat hurt. Off we went to the pediatrician's office at 11 (thankfully they're open 365 days / year). The doc said she's never seen a strep test come up THAT positive THAT quick (2 minutes!)...This is fun...NOT! :sad2: I have a feeling I'm next...

Dee, I hope you are not next. Strep usually responds very quickly to antibiotics and I hope it does in your son's case as well because it is so painful and miserable to have.

I have been dealing with my Dad for about a month now and just got him settled into assisted living 4 days ago, still lots to do but I can focus on some other things too now like:

What is the airline's rule about how far out you can book airfare? It is something like a little less than a year right? Dee, you already have a room reservation? So it is possible to book hotel more than a year in advance?

Just trying to get my head back in the game here. Hope everyone is well or gets better very soon, have a fun weekend. :sunny:

Alisha

Alisha,

The airlines usually let you book 11 months out -- we're close, just not quite there yet!

Some hotels let you book more than a year out. This particular place is a B&B in London that people rave about, and judging from my email exchanges with the owners, with good reason. The TripAdvisor reviews are HERE, and the B&B site itself is HERE. There's a hotel in Luzern I have my eyes on, but it can only be reserved a year out...so I wait!

I'm taking my zinc and hoping for the best here. I'm sorry for everything you're going through with your dad :grouphug: Here's hoping things get better for all of us soon! :thumbsup2

Happy 4th Everybody!

Well we are back and what a fantastic trip it was! :thumbsup2

Val, you were missed but we know all that could not make it were there in spirit!

The Regency was a fabulous Hotel! The staff was amazing! The accomodations were top notch! :thumbsup2 No regrets using my DVC points!

Alisha, glad to hear you have your dad settled. Take some time for yourself, it will do wonders for your spririt.

Now it's back to reality! :sad2:

Hopefully this weekend I'll get around to posting some pics!

Dee, hope DS is feeling better and that you stay healthy!

I lost a good friend in a car crash this week. He's had a horrible 5 years or so -- nasty divorce (his wife was cheating on him), and a year in Afghanistan with the army. He was finally starting to feel that his life was getting back on track...

I'm really hurting right now. :sad2:

Another Week is Over!

Another Week Closer!

TGIF!

I was beginning to worry Scratch42! Thanks for the heads up on crossing another week off of the countdown. I'm off to WI for some hot sun, a big lake & my windsurfer! Hope everyone has a great weekend!

starting to get real excited now that we are almost to the 1 year mark. . .looking for a good way to surprise my family and tell them about our cruise. . .any ideas??

anybody have a daughter that will be about 10ish at time of cruise. . .my duaghter (hannah) is a bit shy and always helps if she has a friend or two before we leave for vacation--went on a med cruise last summer (carnival--liberty) and she didn't want to go to kids club because she "didn't know anybody". hopefully she will have a good time at the disney kids club--that way mom and dad can have a good time also. (we also have a son--ethan--he will be 3 at time of cruise--he loves kids clubs!).

Well it has been a while. Seems as if everyone is doing well. Dee, So sad about your friend. It must be hard for you as well. May you find some comfort here with your new/old friends and may he be in a better place.

This are seems to be losing a lot of young people in car crashes latley. Such a tragic waste.

I thought I would stop by and say hello. I have been busy with packing and moving and now have a moment to breath. I have already done a lot of packing for my cruise in Novemeber so I would not put the stuff in storage and then have to try to find it.

I keep checking about the air fare, but have not found anything yet. has anyone else?

Well I am off to cook dinner, will check in later.

Hi Everyone,

Dee, sending you a big hug :grouphug: and my sympathies on the loss of your dear friend, I am so sorry. I know only time can ease your pain. Please let us know how you are doing.

Wishing everyone a good start to their week!

Alisha

Dee, I'm so sorry about your friend. I just realized that I hadn't seen your post from last week. My thoughts are with you. I hope things get better for you soon. I'm sure it will take some time for you to heal. Hopefully, you have many wonderful memories to look back on. ((((hug from MN))))
