WB Disboarders, I know you will all have a wonderful time bringing our Magic home to Florida. The memories you make will last forever. I absolutely loved the EB voyage - the disboarders I met made it so special. Enjoy the activities and each other. I know you will really enjoy Lindsay and Deanna. Deanna is so much fun - she lights up a room and you are all lucky to have Lindsay to keep you organized. She knows how to get it all done.

My big favor: When you are in Gibraltar and coming down the hill checking out all the shops there is a shop called, The Jewelry Box, on the left hand side of the street (ocean side). Three very pretty ladies run the shop - one of the daughters, Sophia, loves everything Disney.
Please stop in and tell them Anna from Florida said, "hi". I bought silver charms from them. I know they would love to see people from the Magic.

Someone on your thread asked about upgrading. We upgraded from a cat.9 to a cat.6 so we would have a balcony. It was not worth it - mainly because of the weather but even if the weather had cooperated I would have still been just as happy in my cat. 9. My daughter paid for our upgrade ($1200) so I didn't feel that I had spent money foolishly. We had a cat.9 on the Panama WB and loved our room. The balcony was not worth $1200 to me.

Get down and buy your Euros when they announce it as the line gets really long. Be sure to have Ducky autograph your drawing. Ours is hanging in our guest bedroom. Every day it brings back good memories.

I'll give you my input on ports. I really enjoyed Tenerife. We had a guide who was from CT. Of course her English was excellent. Some guides on that tour didn't speak English very well or they weren't informative. We did the big tour - volcano, plantation, gardens, and seaside village where we had lunch. Ask Deanna about the nude bathers as we went to lunch. I bought earrings at a neat little shop right next to where your buses will pick you up after lunch. I have gotten more compliments on those earrings and they were cheap. Cadiz/Seville - we did the tour with guide to Seville. Very beautiful city - we wanted to see the city as our son went to the University there when he was at KU. That is the one tour I would change. I would go on my own and tour just Cadiz all day. The bus trip to Seville is long but the Cathedral is gorgeous. Cadiz is an absolutely beautiful town on a hillside. I found a wonderful fabric store there although I could tell the owner didn't like Americans. Gibraltar, we did the guided tour that does everything. It was very good. We had an excellent guide. We stayed in town after the tour and had lunch at a British Fish Pub that is close to the Police station - excellent food. We shopped till we dropped. Definitely check out the glass factory - it had unique items. I just couldn't figure out how to get them home??? Be aware the walk back to the ship from town is quite a jaunt - I did it twice and I was tuckered out. Barcelona, I did on my own. My husband was so upset with the unfriendliness of the Spaniards he just went back to the boat.
I took the double decker tour bus and did both runs. Best way to see Barcelona. After seeing Familia (I was glad I bought the English tour - she did a good job of explaining everything.) I decided to walk back to Las Rambles to take the bus back to the boat. This was at 4. Well, I got lost and after walking for an hour and I had only 5 Euros on me I knew I needed help. I found help in a beauty salon and made it back to the ship by 6. Know where you are going if you are going by yourself. We saw 2 couples talking to the police about pickpockets who had taken their wallets and cameras. Be careful with your belongings. Barcelona is gorgeous. The fresh market is not to be missed and Las Rambles is incredible. Wait till you see the statues - some are not dressed so be prepared if you have little ones.
I loved the new menu, the new show, the updated ones, and all the parties and activities they planned. Have a BALL!!!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: Keep us posted on the disboard.Bon Voyage!

Here is another attempt. I think it is to much with the clip art and all the color, but it was fun exploring in both PHotoshop and powerpoint.

Cute image Dee!

Thank you Anna, I appreciate the imput. Now, friendly or not, where is that fabric store?

*The Jewelry Box, mental note to stop in and pass on a friendly hi from Anna*

I have an airlines question to those of you who have flown internationally... our flight goes from Denver to Atlanta and then to Barcelona. The connection time has shrunk from 2hrs 10 minutes to 1hr 45min. Delta won't change the flight without paying change fees which would amount to at least $200.

Is this enough time or cutting it too close? The flight is usually on time, but yesterday it was 84 minutes late, which is scary close. There's only one flight to Barcelona per day.

Someone posted somewhere that you can change your flight to an earlier one on the same day for $25, of course the agent didn't mention this at all. Is this actually true?

Wow Anna, thanks for all of the great hints!

Jewelry box, Anna says hi--got it!

I will definately look for those shops you mentioned!

Dee, your magnets look great!

Val, I don't know what to tell you--you have to show your passport when you check in, so I would think it would go more on making a connection in the US moreso than an international connection. It would be just another plane--wouldn't it?

Teresa

Thank you so much for your perspective. It makes me even more eager to go.

We will definately have to check out some of your spots as well.

Hi Gang,
I thought I was home free - found a buyer for the house I needed to either sell or rent. (its in a trust and I'm the trustee) So I could just get my houe together & get ready for the cruise.
BUT - no - the house sale fell through. I've got one other "as is" potential buyer. But, after the last experience - I'm having estimates done on Sat. for refurbishing the house to rent. I then have to find a property management firm to rent it - if the 2nd buyer bails.
I was so upset that I played hookey and took my dogs out to the beach - No. Calif. - Pacific Ocean. First tme for the 8 mo. old pup and he wanted no part of the waves (nor did my 2yr. old dog) - but they had fun chasing sea gulls and one another.
Thanks for letting me vent.
Back to the grind!

hi, my sister and i r going on the transatlantic crossing with our 4 kids. u made it sound great. Is there anything u recommend that is not too much walking? I had a knee replacement 5/1 and i am still having trouble walking.
Thanks so much,

Welcome. I am sure one of the EB cruiser who are taking the Maginc home will be glad to give some recommendations.

I just reserved a car for us in Tenerife. If anybody is doing the same, check cicar.com They have much better deals than Hertz or Avis. There are quite a few rental agencies near the port, just check when they are open (remember Spanish siesta).

If there is any couple interested in joining as for a drive to Teide park, back seats in our rental are still free ;)

My family are looking to do just the same.

Can you tell me what you put in where it said 'flight number' and what pick up location you choose.

Thanks

Could use some PD here!
Last night my FIL (89) was rushed to emergency w/possible heart attack. DH & I went to be w/MIL (86) - until 3am. FIL was admitted and is undergoing tests. His health is failing - he has dementia and his quality of life has deteriorated. My MIL is so stressed she is becoming very frail.
Life's complicatons seem to come in bunches!!!

I used the location MUELLE RIVERA on Tenerife; this seems to be a commercial complex at the exit from the port and a lot of rental agencies are located there. As for the flight, I just put down Disney Magic.

We used this agency once before on Lanzarote (one of the other Canary islands) and everything was OK. Just a quick note, before renting inspect the car for damage more thoroughly than you would in the USA.

UPDATE Time again!!

8/25

Welcome Linda to the Brunch. It is now FULL.

8/20

Still have room for 2 more Ladies. Again pm me w/full name and reservation # - and for any newbies my email is: ggchris3@yahoo.com
