Bringing food into the parks?

Can we bring thermos containers into WDW parks? I'm thinking about this option for our December trip. My older son recently became a pescatarian, and the rest of our family sort of followed suit (because when I cook it's just easier to cook the same thing for everyone). The counter service places offer limited attractive sounding veggie/fish options. (The kids don't like salads.) So I'm thinking of making stuff like chowder or veggie soup in our unit (we'll have a full kitchen) and bringing that in thermos in lieu of or to supplement our counter service purchases. I figured I can store them in one of the rental lockers inside the parks. Has anyone tried this before?

Sure, as long as it's not glass you'll be fine. How will you portion it out though from one thermos?

Easy enough, I have been known to carry a few solo cups with me in the park. (The size down from the big red solo cups). When my kids were little, we would share a large drink between the 4 of us.

One trip we asked housekeeping for a few extra plastic cups when I forgot to pack them.

I did a chat with Disney: Cast member is :) I am :goodvibes

:) Hello! How may I assist you?

:goodvibes Hi! I will be traveling with a little one with dietary restrictions. I already have it notated on my sit down reservations for dinners. But, I was wondering if I was allowed to bring food like sandwiches into the parks with his special bread, etc?

:)Hello :goodvibes yes you can! That is no problem!

:goodvibes Oh thanks! I just wanted to make sure he has stuff for snacks in between meals! Thank you :)

We make sandwiches on nice firm rolls and place them in flat storage containers and put in our backpack. If it is a very hot day we drop in a very small "freeze pack" that we have in a ziploc bag. For chips we take in Pringles or the Lays in the tube containers, they don't get crushed. We all carry bottled water. Our food is fresh, uncrushed, not soggy and works out great.

I was with my cousin today and I'm trying to convince her to come to WDW with my family and I in February. She would be staying at another family members house to save on money. Another friend told her that she could bring her own food into the parks so she wouldn't have to spend money getting anything from the restaurants. Can you do that? I just assumed you couldn't bring your own food in.

Not only can you bring your own food inside the parks, but for military guests staying at Shades of Green, they sell "bag lunches" (next to the bus port A SoG) with just about everything a hungry park visitor could ask for -- except those Disney prices...
