Is it OK to get a seat at Fantasmic, and send one adult out to get a counter service dinner, and carry it into Fantasmic to eat while we wait? And if so, which food service would be the best for that? Thanks!

bring in all the food you want. but remember what you learned in grade school. make sure you bring enough for everybody.

We have always brought food into fantasmic. Usually we stop at Sweet Spells and get candy. It has become a tradition, and no where else but WDW will I spend a small fortune on candy.

If you get seats and send someone out to get food make sure they know to be back to your seat before the seats fill up or they may not be let back in. They do sell food in the theater but your choice is limited and you usually have a long wait. There are many counter service places along the road before you enter the theater so it's usually better to get it here.

You bet you can, especially considering they sell food items within the amphitheatre - just make sure they're as quick as possible, since the seats do fill fast, and the busier the day, the sooner the amphitheater can be shut down to additional people entering.

I would buy my food before entering so there will be no chance of someone missing the show because of an unexpected long line, etc. We maximize our time by eating while waiting for the show.

They make announcements to make sure your whole party is together before going in and to not leave. If you leave, you risk the chance of not getting back in.
I'd suggest staying getting food before you go in and all enter together. If you do choose to send someone to get food, make sure you have some way to contact each other and make plans for meeting up afterwards, just in case.

We have gotten counter service at Rosie's and brought it to Fantasmic. I second the suggestion of getting the food before you go in instead of sending someone from your party back out. :)

Yes, there is plenty of food in fantasmic, along with the thumb size roaches scurrying around, so be prepared. Yes, they are hard to see at night, and people dont see them because they are watching the show. But if you feel something on your leg, you know what it is. I kid you not.
