Are there any other options? Please inform!!?!!

bring a notebook computer that is what i am doing going for 10 days have 1600 pictures i can take between 2 sd memory cards. i took over 800 at the fireworks and 2 parades in disneyland

have you checked into portable digital storage units? Mydigitaldiscount.com has different kinds that work with the standard memory cards.

Might be worth it for you if you don't have a laptop. Even the 20gb units aren't that expensive.

The Compact Drive PD7X runs off standard AA batteries so that's a good thing to have in a pinch, and the Apacer Steno is an affordable solution. Check it out:

I don't know the expense (because I mostly skimmed over it since I always have our lap top for the kids to watch movies on), but the camera centers at WDW are now offering that service as well.

(did a search, but didn't find it....however, you know Disney nuts - I am sure there is info on it somewhere out there that would give you pricing!)

http://www.mydigitaldiscount.com/ ...exactly what do you do? Is 90. a good deal?

the $90 is just the unit without the hard drive. You'll want the ones with the hard drive already with it, so about $150.

Just for comparison, I took about 3000 pictures on my recent 9 day trip, each picture was a 3mp superfine setting - the highest resolution of my camera - and each picture was about 1.2 mb and for approx 3000 pictures I used up 3.7gb hard drive space.
So a 20gb storage unit can literally save 10-15,000 pictures depending on the size of each picture.

I think it's a good investment for $150 - if you burned your pics to CD at Disney at $12 a piece and a total of 120 pictures per CD like I've heard you're looking at 10-15 CDs for the same amount. With a portable storage unit, you could use it for digital pictures straight from the memory card or when hooked up to your computer, you can use it like an external hard drive. IMO a much better deal.

The unit comes with slots like a memory card reader, and you literally just pop in your full card, press a button to copy it to the unit, and then you're done. It'll tell you when it's done and then you can just put the card back into your camera and delete all the pics from the card. These units take the standard cards, like CF, SD, Memory sticks, etc. Usually it'll take xD cards with an adapter so read the description carefully.

The camera center at Epcot charges $12.99 + tax per CD burned. We had a vehicle though, so we went to Walgreen's at the corner of International Dr & Irlo Bronson (Hwy 192) and had them burnt for $2.99 + tax per CD! BIG price difference, but you need to have transportation to do this.

I was just reading something the other day about this. Not being an I POD owner myself I am not sure how it works but somehow you can download pictures into that. ( I believe it has to be the I Pod with the screen) but if you or a child has that than maybe that would work and it is a lot smaller than a laptop.

Last year I was able to purchase 4 memory cards at great prices. Perhaps you could find memory cards on sale somewhere before your trip? My 4 lasted me for 10 days. This year we are hopefully going for 14 days, and I just got a laptop with a built in Mem. card reader and cd burner.. Hope it works well! I can Review my photos, and 'edit' them to make sure they came out great! (allowing for re-shoots for some pictures) Best of luck in your descion.

I ended up buying a memory card at the park last year when I ran out of room... I could have downloaded photos to a CD, but I'd have to leave my card there for who knows how long, they could not do it while you wait. And then I'd have to carry that CD around and try not to break or scratch it. Memory cards are ridiculously expensive in the World (just like everything else! ;) ) so that's not the best option. The least expensive, and most convenient option (IMHO) is to buy an extra memory card and leave it in its packaging. That way, you'll have it if you need it, and if you don't need it, you can just return it to the store.

I agree with the PP, just buy a second memory card. Leave it in the packaging, if you don't use it, return it and at least if you need it it is there.

My DH has an Ipod, but apparently, not all Ipods have the capability of storing pictures, you need to have a special connector thingie (I am really technical, huh?) to upload the pictures, but from what he tells me - the ipod will store a BUTTLOAD of pictures. (and yes buttload is the technical term.... ;) )

that's correct. If you have an Ipod, you need a special card reader that hooks up to the Ipod. Belkin makes them, if you go to Belkin.com you can look at the accessories for your Ipod and see if your Ipod can take them.

My laptop had been less than reliable, and we just got it back from being fixed a day or so before our trip. We bought and used the Sony Photovault for pur last trip. It worked great. It transfers the pictures to a mini CD-R. (And makes a good back up form when my hard drive dies...again.)

Get a 1G card, you can put tons of pics in it!

Or take your laptop if you have one and save them.

Or if you have a car there, drive to wal mart and for less than $5.00 you can put tons of pics in one cd.

I couldn't find the price. Do you know how much they go for?

In April we took our film & our memory cards to Walgreen's on 535. Great service & product! We d/l the memory card on to cds for a fraction of what Disney charges. We even had several photos made from the cds while on vacation. I would highly recommend Walgreen's.
