Grand Californian Construction

I contacted a CM today to ask about Grand Californian construction since I haven't been able to find much about it online. She said they are refreshing the rooms but there's no major construction going on. I was surprised because I read some reviews that mentioned patios being blocked off and scaffolding around the hotel. But maybe whatever that was is over and was related to the new entrance.

Anyway, just wanted to share because I know a few other people were wondering, too.

They were painting the exterior so some areas were blocked off while they did that. I imagine it will be done soon, if it isn't already.

Just coming here to find out if they finished the full refurb which I thought was in 2024? Past few visits we have stayed at DLH but were thinking of GC several months from now but a couple years ago when we stayed there the rooms were looking very worn.

Are you talking about the hotel side or the DVC villa side?

I believe both had some renovations recently. I can't speak on the hotel side, but I believe the DVC renovations are done. It was NOT a full refurbishment like it should have been. But the rooms have been refreshed - new flooring, murphy bed instead of sofa bed, some new appliances.
