Bring us a Shrubbery!! May 25-June 1, 2007!!

Oh yeah, just had to add....

this time next week we'll be on a plane to Florida, bay-bee!!! :yay:

This time LAST week I was in Disney. I can't believe I'm not still there. Have wonderful, crazy fun. I'm enjoying the TR, and I'm not TOO confused. Yet.

Here, here! :thumbsup2

Where's the "Brenda for President" smiley?

I think I could take the nominees in both parties but I have no treasure chest and I would have to run as an idependent, but that suits me just fine.

OK...I've laid the first plankton in my platform...next up, ending world hunger...as soon as I finish breakfast. :rotfl2:

:thumbsup2 Pedicures are a girl's best friend. Well, after men, booze, Disney, and jewelry! princess:

I'll take diamonds with my pedicure, thank you very much, preferably in a platinum setting. If a handsome waiter wearing mouse ears happens to offer me some champagne during my treatment, why I think the day will be complete! :rotfl2:

Hi PittypatBR!! Glad to have you along and I hope you had a lovely trip! Thank you for reading so far and we'll try to keep everything as clear as mud. If you have a question ask away - someone is sure to answer it! :thumbsup2

And...I just have to ask...is your user name from Gone With the Wind?

:thumbsup2 Platinum indeed. Yellow gold makes my already olive skin looks jaundiced!

I did have a dream about WDW last night but not a happy one. We were driving and the car overheated and we never made the trip. :sad1: Left me with an icky feeling this morning. I am in need of a little retail therapy! :yay: I am in the mood to just buy buy buy things for the trip.

My engagement and wedding rings are both platinum and so is Jay's wedding band. I like platinum settings for three reasons...

1) I think platinum sets off the diamond(s) beautifully, giving the stone an almost bottomless appearance.

2) Platinum is practically indestructible - gold is too soft.

3) I have a bad habit of always liking best that which is too expensive. ;)

I had a rather bizarre Disney dream last night, too. Must have been something weird in the air.

Go forth and shop!! I wish I needed to but I don't, so I will behave. Besides, I did buy a fancy-schmancy dress for our dinner at V&A so it's not like I didn't get to buy something.

Hey Brenda! I've been busy and trying to catch up with the "Shubbery Saga" . I got this far and you hit me with this...

I may be the only person who didn't know this, but I like to share; so if there's a chance that anyone reading here didn't know about the fabu discount being offered by Ghiradelli... come a little closer and I'll tell you all about it.

If you go to Ghiradelli's web site (Ghiradelli.com) and click on the link Bake With Us, you will then see an option to sign up for Choco-mail.

I strongly urge you to do so.

Upon being registered, you will receive an email from Ghiradelli that will give you 20% off an on-line order, or 20% off a purchase in one of their stores or in their ice cream parlor.... where's that drool icon when you need it?

You are so bad!!! I love chocolate! But now I am torn... I am :rolleyes1 on the Nestle Toll House Advisory Council.:cool2: So if I subscribe, am I being disloyal or is it considered recon to check out the competition?

June

Here, here! :thumbsup2

I'll be campaign manager.... Just don't make me treasurer. I married my DH because he was an accountant and I wouldn't have to write checks anymore, just spend money!

:thumbsup2 Pedicures are a girl's best friend. Well, after men, booze, Disney, and jewelry! princess:

But not necessarily in that order.....

Sounds familiar. :thumbsup2 And, I'm a thrifty farm girl - I don't know how this happened to me! (All our rings are platinum as well...)

Hey, I got my babysitter!

Hi June! Too cool... Nestle Toll House Advisory Council...sounds like a tasty gig!

I don't think you're being disloyal at all. Just because you're affiliated with Nestle Toll House that doesn't mean you can't appreciate and enjoy other brands. And, you can't make your own product better if you don't know what the others are doing. :thumbsup2

Excellent - a campaign manager already! Perhaps I should announce my plans at Disney next week? I'm sure my manager would approve an 18 month leave of absence so that I could pursue my dream of becoming the first female president of the US. :rotfl2:

Thanks for popping in, June!! :goodvibes

I want in on the campaign, as well! In fact, you probably need security starting ASAP. Perhaps I should come along to WDW to keep an eye on things? I'd even go so far as to taste-test your alcohol to make sure it wasn't tampered with. Come to think of it, any desserts would probably need testing, too...

I don't know how it happened to me either - I grew up as a latch-key of a divorced mom who worked her tail off to make ends meet.

Hey, I got my babysitter!

Good for you!! :thumbsup2

Meet us at the East Terminal by 6AM Friday morning...I've got extra drink coupons from Southwest!! :thumbsup2

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Seriously, a campaign run by women for women would be awesome. Stop trying to do things the man's way...he's been in charge for thousands of years and look where we are.

And I'm not man-bashing...I like men for the most part (unless they're sexist pigs) but you gotta admit that the testosterone has created a lot of global issues. ;)

Hi everybody! Thanks Dr. Nick!

We had our pedicures this afternoon...ah, bliss. Here's a picture of my pretty feet, because on the internet nothing is off-limits any longer. ;)

And then, since we started talking about jewelry I thought I'd give you a look at our rings:

This is Jason's wedding band. It's made entirely of platinum with a thin gold overlay running around the midde of the ring - it was custom designed to match my rings.
DSC01942.jpg

These are my rings. The one with the three diamonds is my engagement ring and then we had a band designed to match it. It's very similar to Jay's only much smaller.

And then here's all three rings together:

Since we're celebrating our anniversary on this trip - number 8 - I thought I'd post a picture of us from our wedding day. This was scanned from those old fashioned non-digital type pictures that were so commonplace in the last century, so the quality might be a little grainy.

Can you tell I was starting to get tired of having my picture taken? I was thinking one thing: "Where's the damn alcohol???" :rotfl2:

And now for the food talk... I've been reading a lot of poor, recent BlueZoo reviews from people who have previously been huge fans of that establishment. While I normally take all reviews with a large helping of salt, this time I admit to being uneasy.

Talked it over with Jay this afternoon with the result that we canceled the ADR we had for 5/28 at BlueZoo and replaced it with an ADR at Flying Fish instead.

We've never tried FF before, either, so we're replacing a new restaurant with a different new restaurant. And...I hear they offer a champagne flight at FF!! :thumbsup2

And for what it's worth - I had no trouble getting what I wanted for a dinner reservation even though we are 9 days from the date I was requesting. Maybe that's because there were only two of us, but I thought it was worth mentioning to those of you who have trips planned within the next month or so.

Thanks again for reading! :goodvibes

While I don't have anything against Flying Fish, I still think you should plan a stop in at Blue Zoo some night, even if it's just for a Cosmo or other cocktail of your choosing. You have to see the interior of Blue Zoo. It's one of my favorite restaurants for ambience. Another favorite is Jiko, but Jiko can get a bit loud at times - not Boma loud, mind you. The clock is counting down quickly now! :thumbsup2

The pedicure looks fabulous!!:thumbsup2 I have to get one this week, too, as we have a wedding to attend next weekend and my friend lent me a beautiful dress with the matching open-toe shoes to match, so I must look presentable.;)

Your rings are gorgeous, and I love the wedding picture! I know what you mean about getting tired of the picture-taking. By that point I was thinking, bring on the champagne, baby!!

Not long now!

Brenda,

The ped looks wonderful! Oh, how I want one soooooo badly!! But until I heal a little more from the surgery on my ankle (my 10th on my legs in the last 11 years due to a car accident), I don't even let my Mark, my DH touch my foot! And it would look pretty silly with a one foot pedicure!!

Okay, since I have nothing else todo with my life but take care of my 4 year old, average grades that need to be in the computer Monday Morning, plan our 8th grade Promotion Ceremony and caligraphy 130 Promotion Certificates and 25 award certificates before Monday night, I've been trying to come up with Slogans for your campaign.

Brenda for President -- Food is Good and so am I!
Brenda for President -- Laisse le bon temps rouler
Brenda for President -- Never can pass a good flight (of wine, beer, Southwest Air, etc)

I'm still working on them, but anyone is free to contribute...

Oh, and I need your opinion, if you please ma'am.

I just made my ADR's for our November trip this AM. Please peruse and give me your wisest opinion.

11/16 Chef Mickey (before MVMCP)
11/17 Coral Reef (so Mark can eat with the fishes)
11/18 Le Cellier (w/o my DS, who is also a Jay -- he goes to Neverland Club for the evening.)
11/19 Kona Cafe

It's just a quick trip to get Mark's feet wet. He has never been to Disney and really doesn't think he will like it. Me, I've been 30+ times.....

Have a great day!

Your campaign manager, June

Thanks for the input Michelle. We did poke our heads into BlueZoo last October but we didn't get a real good look at it. And it's still on our radar, but some of those reviews I read were very food specific and that makes me nervous...and FF is offering She-Crab Soup right now on their menu which is a seasonal delicacy that I have always wanted to try...insert drool icon here.

Thanks for the sweet comment in your edit, by the way. Be sure to take extra good care of yourself over the next couple of weeks, OK?

Thanks, Lori! And I totally agree - you must get a pedicure! You've got all the best reasons for one, so don't neglect yourself. :goodvibes

Your rings are gorgeous, and I love the wedding picture!

Thank you! I think I kind of blew Jay's mind when we were looking at rings because I offered to help pay for my engagement ring if we found the right one (and I really wanted platinum). I'm a modern kind of girl. ;)

I know what you mean about getting tired of the picture-taking. By that point I was thinking, bring on the champagne, baby!!

I'm pretty sure champagne was on my mind, too! :rotfl2:

Five days my friends...I think I'd better get things organized! :lmao:

Every woman deserves a pedicure at least once a year. If you vote for me I promise to sponsor mandatory pedicure legislation for all the hard-working, under-appreciated women in this great country!!

:rotfl2:

Will you be a "write-in", or will it read "Brenda-Grimmie's DD"?

Excellent - a campaign manager already! Perhaps I should announce my plans at Disney next week? I'm sure my manager would approve an 18 month leave of absence so that I could pursue my dream of becoming the first female president of the US. :rotfl2:

I'm strong like bull...can I carry Brenda's Booze Bag around for you? Surely, there must be a job opening like this.

OMG!! I have to have a copy of those paddles for DS's cruise magnet. He hates feet and I aim to please him with an 8 x 10-matte finish-copy.

Hi June! :wave2: Well, the ped. was wonderful, nice and relaxing. I'm sorry to hear about your recent (and past) surgeries - I hope things went well and you heal quickly and then you can go splurge on the super-duper-queen-for-a-day foot pampering!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: You sound like me! I've still got all the work I brought home from the office Friday night sitting on the living room floor (last time I checked the cat was sleeping on it and I wouldn't want to disturb him... ;) ). I need to finish the laundry, clean the bathrooms, start getting our stuff organized for the trip...and (cue music from Night on Bald Mountain) Grimace is coming over for dinner tonight!!!

I like the second slogan the best so far - it reminds me of the time Jay and I spent in New Orleans.

We could always pilfer Homer Simpson's campaign spiel from when he was running for sanitation commissioner...

"Animals are crapping in our houses and we're cleaning it up! Did we lose a war or something? That's not America; that's not even Mexico."

His slogan: Can't Someone Else Do it? :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Your campaign manager, June

I don't know how helpful I can be, but I'll try.

Chef Mickey's is a lot of fun - never been there other than for breakfast and that's been a few years. Most people seem to be happy with the food and experience, though, so I think you'll be in good shape. And it's a great location for getting to the MK easily once you're finished eating!

Coral Reef - the food we had at the food and wine pairing in October was great but we've never ordered from the restaurant menu. I have been reading some good reviews lately and have been tempted myself to see if Jay and I can squeeze in a visit some time this year. If we go I'll be sure to let you know how it is.

Le Cellier - everyone raves about it but we've never been. You can blame Grimace for that....sort of. ;)

Kona Cafe... which meal are you going for? We've only eaten breakfast here and it's always been terrific! I have also heard lots of good things about them for lunch and dinner, so I think this is a good choice no matter which meal you end up choosing it for.

If you like coffee try the pressed pot Kona coffee - good stuff!! :thumbsup2

Have a good day! :goodvibes

Will you be a "write-in", or will it read "Brenda-Grimmie's DD"?

I haven't decided yet - my campaign manager and I are still in the early stages of strategic planning. And I haven't had my coffee yet. ;)

I'm strong like bull...can I carry Brenda's Booze Bag around for you? Surely, there must be a job opening like this.

You and Crystal can coordinate security and bar patrol - how does that sound? Dessert is included!

OMG!! I have to have a copy of those paddles for DS's cruise magnet. He hates feet and I aim to please him with an 8 x 10-matte finish-copy.

Paddles? Are you telling me that my size 7s are too big? :confused3

And...you're going to put my feet on a sheet of magnetic paper and slap it on your son's cabin door come October?

Well, this way at least part of me will be on the cruise ... :rotfl2:

Oh my, I just made it through all 30 pages. 30 pages!!!!! I am impressed - and I'm not easily impressed. Wow! A blue car...

OK, where was I? What can I say - you're going back which means a double dose of trippies :woohoo: I thought I was sensible making sure I have a trip 'in hand' - always be planning the next trip before you return from the current trip - but you have got it perfected. Not only have you a trip (well, 2 actually) in hand but you manage to overlap your trippies too, so you are either writing, tripping or planning - and most of the time all 3 :rotfl:

Really, I am only jealous that you have 30 pages of responses and I have a measly 4 replies on my pre-trippy :sad2: I am ready to admit defeat and stick around here to wait for news of your latest adventure - hope you have a ball :thumbsup2
