Bring binoculars?!

I have a dresser in my guest room with a pile of papers and other items on it that relate to our WDW trip next year. When I see a tip here or on TGM that I think will be useful, I jot it down and add it to the pile.

I just went to put a confirmation on the pile. A little post it note with the words "bring binoculars" written on it caught my eye. I remember writing the note, I remember thinking "what a great idea!". I just can't, for the life of me, remember why I need to bring binoculars.

So, do you use binoculars on your trip? If so, what do you use them for?

I'm bringing them for our stay at AKL; we've never been there and I don't know how far out some of the animals are. Figure, better safe than sorry!

I always take mine to WDW. My wife and I look at stuff from our balcony or take them when we're strolling the resort. Disney is a big property, and catching a blown up view of something off in the distance is great. We've used them on the monorail to check out different things that have puzzled or inrerested us. We have certain days we just slum the property, shop but not a park day, and thats when we take them along. Always have them at the resort pool, never know what might peak your interest.

I wished that I had them when we were going around the tree of life looking at all the animals on it. There were some that we couldn't figure out what they were and thought binoculars would have helped. We also wanted them on the Kilmanjaro Safari to look at the animals.

I always bring my binocculars. For one thing, I'm a birdwatcher so I'm used to watching for birds. Also, if we're at OKW, I like to watch the golfers. Staying at BCV, they make people-watching easier. Mostly for birds and wildlife though.
