Bring back the old buns!

I got so sick of my "healthy" fake wheat bun falling apart! I hate having to eat a hamburger with a fork! I really wish they would bring back the white buns.

Does anyone know who to contact about this? We didn't complain when we were there. We didn't want to waste any park time complaining, but I'd like to let someone know that we were not happy.

Go to the Disney website and send an email. I got a response in a couple of weeks (be patient) and was given a person's phone number to call during normal business hours. This was when the Casey's buns were changed and I was afraid everything would be changed. Unfortunately, I was right.

I have been saying for months now that the buns are absolutely horrible. I've posted many things, included bad reviews in my trip reports, and ask for a white bun at every place (denied - they ONLY have that wheat crap). I refuse to eat another Disney World burger or hot dog until we have a choice of buns. I'm not asking for the buns to be taken away entirely, just give us a choice. Kids get a choice with their meals, why can't we? Fries, apple slices, grapes, or milk, soft drink.

You are so not alone with this feeling but stand back and wait for all the responses that say the buns are not that bad or the buns are healthier for you. It's a hot dog! It's not supposed to be healthy for you!

Sorry - I rant on this all the time.

Before we went on our trip the end of May I had read about how bad the new buns were. Well our first day there we ate hamburgers at Cosmic Ray's and the buns are terrible!!! In past trips we would have eaten cs hamburgers a couple of times but we avoided them this time because the buns are so bad. A agree that we should be given the choice. We won't eat cs burgers again till we are either given the choice or they change them.

I don't mind the new buns. However, if more people stop eating CS and Disney finds out it's because of the buns then they'll likely change.

If their sales don't decrease I doubt they'll make a change anytime soon.

I'm really nervous about this for our Aug trip. My DS always get burgers. My DD gets pizza alot and I have heard that is changed too!!

Back when Caseys changed, I also sent an e-mail via the WDW website. After a few weeks I got an e-mail from them asking for my phone number. A representative called me and explained that this would be the way things would be. Only a handful of people were complaining compared to the thousands eating there each day.

The last thing people want to do is take a trip to guest relations to complain about a bun. Unfortnately, as long as people find this an inconvenience, they will not know people are dissatisfied.

I haven't been in at least 5 years so I haven't tasted the new buns. However I hope I will like them on my future trip because that's one of my favorite things to get is a cheeseburger at Disney. My mom will be disappointed to hear about this too. Why not give a choice then just making it the new bun?

We were there in October and again a couple of weeks ago ... had both hot dogs and hamburgers on both trips and frankly didn't know that anything about the buns was different until I got back and visited this site ... everything seemed fine to us.

I honestly do not care, but I can chime in and say the quality is consitently going down.

I agree with Tricia, stop spending money on the things you do not like and they will change what they are doing.

So true, nothing is as good as it used to be. Boy, do I miss Disney of the 90's! :hyper:

I was going to post about this, but since I haven't been here in a while, didn't know if the "buns" were old news or not.
Anyhoo....I'm really confused about these complaints.:confused3 Yes, I know everyone has a right to their opinion, and this is mine. I had read about the new buns before our trip in June. When we finally arrived, not one member of my family noticed a difference in taste or texture. The color was not quite so "white" and you could see small brown "dots". Otherwise, there just wasn't a difference.

So, for those of you that haven't been in awhile, really...there's nothing to worry about. The buns are good. Mine were as soft as they've always been...never fell apart once. We had buns from Casey's, Cosmic Ray's, etc....all good. :goodvibes

We were just there 2 weeks ago. While the buns taste fine, they almost always fell apart on us. I ate 2 hamburgers with a fork and knife, and DS ate a couple of hot dogs the same way. DH was completely frustrated. He isn't a DISer, so he didn't know about all the complaints here on the boards. About halfway thru our trip he dropped his falling-apart-burger into his tray and said that he would just like to have one bun on this trip that didn't disintegrate as he was trying to eat it. We really found it to be a problem.

I think the point here shouldn't be whether the buns are good or bad. That is a personal preference. The issue should be that we are not given a choice. I hate wheat bread and I can tell the difference and DH, myself and our kids hated the buns at Disney. Now we will no longer eat burgers or hot dogs there. I cannot understand why we aren't given a choice?

I would guess we aren't given a choice because we were never given a choice. In the past it was always white. Now it's always wheat. Disney seems to always offer one type of bun.

LOL from everything I am reading makes me think I just might stash a package of white burger buns in my baggalini!

oh, DH is not going to be happy if his burger is on a wheat bun.....

I agree! It really wasn't the taste of the buns. It was the fact that they were dry and fell apart and it made the burgers hard to eat.

The good news is that the burgers at the TS restaurants still have the good rolls. So when we went to B&C and the SciFi we had some really good cheeseburgers. They made up for it. From now on we will just eat other food for our cs. There is plenty of good cs food that isn't burgers.

So, I'm not up on the latest news. Are the new buns whole wheat? Is there any nutrition information anywhere?

Normally, I'd applaud having whole wheat buns, but I need to watch (minimize) my fiber intake vacation...
