Bridging Military Salute Tickets?

We qualify and plan to use the military salute tickets for an upcoming trip. Our problem is that I would love to add a 5th day, but we simply cannot justify buying a 5 day ticket for $320 when we can get the 4 day hopper for $200. Does anyone know the likelihood that once the tickets are activated and used that we could add a 5th day for the $10 price difference?

It is very unlikely, unfortunately. All military priced tickets need to be purchased on an active military base.

Where did you pay $200 for the military salute voucher/ticket? The base here (Patrick AFB) sells the vouchers for $175, we bought them last week. I'm not sure about bridging for an extra day. Hopefully someone can let you know.

Boo Bear... you can buy them at SOG and I believe at Guest Services at Disney but you have to pay the tax if purchased at GS.

You can't add days to the military tickets.

And to address later posts - the ticket booths at Disney can and do sell military tickets, as well as upgrade them to annual passes. They can also be upgraded to add the park hopper or water park fun & more options if they don't already have both. But adding individual days is a no-go.

In my research on this, it appears that you would need to purchase the 1-day military discount ticket if you wanted to add a day to the 4-day salute tickets. If you want to do 6 or 7 days, it is actually cheaper to buy two 4-day salute tickets and not use a couple days.

Yes, that is absolutely the best strategy! It's what we have done before. Unfortunately, the Army is only giving us a few days and we don't have more than 5 days.

I think I will write a letter and tell them they need an option to add days, even if it were $25/day, I'd pay it. As it stands, they've sent us to Sea World, so we'll now be paying for food and parking over there...

Thank you!!

I haven't seen or heard about 2016 release either! I knew they extended this years until December. I'll have to call and ask! :)

Okay, I'm going to try to clear up some confusion here, before it turns into a wild fire...

Hi, everybody. I'm a travel agent for an on-base ITT ticket and travel office, where I've worked for 5 years. I share this so you will know that what I am about to say is from a reputable source:

THE WALT DISNEY DISNEY WORLD MILITARY SALUTE PROGRAM HAS NOT BEEN RENEWED FOR 2016.

The current ticket promotion runs through Dec. 20, 2015. It offers 3 options: All are 4-Day tickets. The first two options (Option 1: 4-Day Park Hopper, and Option 2: 4-Day Base w/ WP Fun Options) are $177 each. The third option (Option 3: 4-Day Hopper w/ WP Fun) tickets are $207 each.

As stated correctly above, there is no way to add days to these tickets. For 5 days of admission, your best bet is to purchase an additional 1-Day ticket from your ITT or LTS office. For 6-8 days worth, you are better off using a second 4-Day military ticket, if you have enough remaining in your allotment for this year's promotion to do so. The current allotment has been extended to 12 tickets per military service member.

The "Disney tips for Military families" website mentioned earlier is only ESTIMATING that next year's tickets will be $195 each for option 1 & 2. This is only their estimate, not hard and fast fact.

Current speculation from those of us who work in this field is that the announcement regarding 2016's military tickets will most likely happen sometime in mid to late October 2015. Again, this is only speculation.

I hope this helps. Semper Fi.

"Bridging" means that you get the full gate value for a ticket that you purchased at a discount. The problem here is, military tickets don't have a "gate" price. They're a completely separate type of ticket with their own special rules and requirements. So, no, you won't be able to bridge. I do believe, however, that they can be upgraded to annual passes.

This is correct. Military Salute tickets can be upgraded to an annual pass, but days cannot be added to them.
