Bridging from 10 day ticket to AP;for me no value

Don't use the term bridging. That means nothing to ticket CMs. Just say you would like to know the price to upgrade your current ticket to an annual pass.

While that's fine in many cases, there HAVE been reported cases when the guest was quoted the wrong price, the guest
asked specifically THEN about "price bridging" and the CM then recalculated.
(There should not really be a situation when just mentioning "price bridging" would cause
the CM to "stop" doing the bridging.)

That's why I said that it might help, or it might not.
Totally depends on the particular CM(s) you happen to get.

True. Is there an actual written policy on what the worth should be or is it up to the CM every time?

The experienced ticketing CMs that I've talked to say that there is training offered in regard to proper upgrade
procedures. There are additional "memos" that are sent out when there are changes made.
The wild card is (again) the particular CM who may misunderstand the procedure, or will have missed the new "memo,"
or any other reason that an employee (mostly in semi-isolation) can make procedural errors.

If the guest doesn't know what price to expect, the guest is at the mercy of the CM.

Value is in the eye of the beholder. With an AP you get dining discounts, merchandise discounts, free parking ($20/day), free Memory Maker ($150), room discounts (maybe), and you can go as often as you want without buying new tickets in a 12 month period. The question comes down to what you value.

I guess part of the fear is that I've read the threads recently where someone will say that an inexperienced CM will make copious notes in the system so even if they're wrong about the calculations and you leave to find another place to do it, those people then pull up a crap ton of notes about your trying to do this before and then leaving.

I sometimes have irrational fears.

I'd say that to "fear" this is be overly concerned.
In the case of "copious notes," the CM making those notes is actually creating a trail of their own incompetence.
The notes, if the incorrect procedure was attempted, will be a permanent record of incrimination of not of the guest, but of the belligerent CM.
Disney brass can actually read that the CM did the wrong thing.

I had a further issue in that the CM at Epcot that took my money and still screwed up the transaction so the MB wouldn't work and necessitated a third trip to Guest Relations. The CM that took my money also didn't give my daughter the card that goes with the AP. We went the next day to HS and a very nice CM heard my story and said she couldn't give me the card but could give it to my daughter, with showing an ID. The CM did come back with 2 anytime FP's, which are good on anything but the 2 Pandora rides. I brought the daughter in later and got her card. Today, after being asked several times by daughter and son, I checked on upgrading to 3 AP's that include the water parks. The CM at Epcot had told me $127.00 per AP. On the phone this morning, a CM told me $95.86, then put me on hold for 45 minutes before I accidentally hung up. At AK, the CM at Guest Relations told me $127.00. I told her that earlier, on the phone, a CM told me $95.86. She went somewhere to check and came back and told me that mine and my son's 13 month AP's would cost $90.00 apiece, and my daughter's would cost $95.86. I can't complain about the price but have no idea how they came up with it. That does complete any upgrades for this trip. However, I'll have to do it again at Christmas with the last two unused tickets that I have.

You got lucky if they gave you a 13 mo AP. That promotion ended in early Jan for new AP. It was extends until Sept 30th only for current AP who are up for renewal by that time.

Let me clarify. I had 2 10 day passes bought through Undercover Tourist 18 months ago. My intention was to use them on scheduled trip which is now. When Disney offered the 13 month promotion, I wanted to use the 2 existing tickets to upgrade but Disney said that had to be done in person, not over the phone. When they extended the offer from January 3 to October 1, I wasn't sure if that included everyone or just renews. With 3 calls to Cast Members, I got 2 answers that it extended to everyone and 1 answer that it extended only to renews. I CM actually sent me an email, stating that all persons were eligible through October 1, which I made a copy of and brought with me when I bought my daughter an AP with one of my unused 10 day tickets. I did, in fact, purchase 2 13 month AP's on December 24, not wanting to take a chance on what I was told by a CM. When I bought my daughters AP, they did not honor the email that I brought with me and I really didn't expect them to honor it.
