We love any kind of funny hat at WDW. It's a reminder not to take ourselves too seriously and enjoy our vacation.

Dorky, yes. But fun, not too impractical, and bring joy to the couple as well as people around them....so I think its great. We did keep running into one bridal couple a few years ago that didn't bring me much joy....just the look of them reminded me far too much of me and my first husband on our honeymoon - and everytime I saw them I wanted to yell "run, Honey, run now!!!! He'll spend all your money and sleep with your girlfriends!!" But I resisted the urge and I hope they are still happily wed and my projections of self onto them were nonsense.

Now people wear much stupidier things at Disney - inappropriate shoes, women who I doubt need it wearing more makeup than Tammy Faye Baker (but who knows, perhaps they have a horrible skin condition under that plaster), people who bothered to do extensive things with their hair to then spend the day in 98 degree heat with 98% humidity and a few sudden showers.

I saw quite a few on our recent trip. Mostly at epcot. Some of these couples didn't look much older than 16. I got the impression from one couple, after overhearing a bit of their conversation, they were wearing them to get free stuff and some booze. Don't think they were married.

now that is bad or desperate! get the ears police ...uhoh here come the "morals" issue

I completely agree with you. I think they are hideous. The buttons are ok and some of the shirts (if they're tastefully done). I just think the ears look so dorky. We were watching a wedding show about WDW and there was a couple wearing them on the show and my DFi looks at me and says "Please God say we are not wearing those" (We're planning on getting married at WDW). I should've messed with him and told him yes, they were mandatory.

I'm with you!!!! With all of the anniversaries that do not get celebrated, I am energized when I see people who are carefree enough to enjoy their special day. Too bad if the fashion police think they look dorkey!!!!

We see those wedding ears all the time and always assumed they were couples on their honeymoon. DH and I have celebrated our anniversaries at WDW a couple times. I'd love to wear them too, but there's no way on earth DH would even consider it. I have a hard time getting him to wear the ankle socks with the b&w Mickey head! He won't even wear a DIS lime green ribbon - the things we wives put up with!

No way! I have seen many couples wearing them, and I think it's very sweet. You are entitled to your opinon but no, they don't look ridiculous. People are supposed to enjoy their honeymoon, correct?

My DH and I refused to wear the ears on our honeymoon. We are in are early 30's and felt strange wearing them. So...He made lanyards!!! Really cute! It was a picture of Mickey and Miney in their wedding attire and said Eric and Michelle, Wedding date 9-13-03 and honeymoon at Disney ....

We still got ALL the perks!

Dh and I are going on our honeymoon in less than two weeks. He begged me to not make him wear the wedding ears and I caved. I WILL force him to wear our Bride/groom ball caps, at least for a little bit, but he's ok with that.

I personally don't mind the wedding ears, though I think the tulle would annoy me everentually. I think it's cute when couples where it. I saw an older couple in there 60's or 70's wearing them once...adorable!

Nope...not just an Ohio thing...Manhattanite checking in to say...extremely dorky!! I'm all for having a good time, and we would never rain on anyone's parade, but those honeymoon ears are pretty lame. We always chuckle under our breath when we see anyone wearing them, but would never make anyone feel uncomfortable...to each his own, I guess.

In a word,... Tacky! I guess you can take the obligatory picture or two or three,... but after that,... put them in a safe place and bring them out again on your 25th anniversary.

They are cute for newly weds but I would not wear them for an anniversary. I saw a number of couples wearing them on a recent trip and just assumed they were all newly weds not celebrating an anniversary!

My fiancee's aunt just bought us the bride and groom ears. We're getting married in 2007, but we want to have the ears at the reception so that we can get a few pictures with them on. Also, we're going to buy the Mickey gloves and as our guests are leaving, we'll have the ears and gloves on, waving goodbye to everyone, as we'll be leaving for our WDW honeymoon a few days later.

If the couple who is celebrating their anniversary are happy wearing the ears, so be it. I hope they have a good time.

I think people wearing all black, wearing those thick black rim glasses look like dorks personally.
But like me, I bet they don't care too much what others think.

My honest feeling is that anyone that has that strong an objection to something so sweet and innocent must have real issues, perhaps jealousy. Why would seeing people happy and in love cause you to have any reaction but to smile. People have different tastes, I have 2 sisters that live in horror of the clothes that me and my other sister wear, but we're both happy and comfortable and have yet to be pelted in the streets with tomatos for violating the "rules of fashion". Besides, who says those who dictate fashion,(the magazines) are right, personally I think they often look like idots, I'm pretty sure that I look like most of america, not them. Sorry for going off topic, but this issue pushes my buttons big time. Live and Let Live!
