bride and groom ears- your honest opinion

I think that it's awesome to see a couple of adults get so "in" to the Disney spirit. If it's not your thing - that's fine, but don't rain on their parade. Something tells me that if they are "Disney hat wearing kind of people" that a little ribbing from their friends probably won't wilt their ears too much. ;)

I am just not a fan. If someone else wants to wear them then go for it but I think they are silly.

I saw a couple with a button similar to the birthday button.

So people could still tell them congrats, but is wasn't as far out there as wearing the ears.

I'd probably wear the ears for a little while. Get a couple of good photos and then pack them away!!

I think they are great! :bride:
My bf and I don't even have the exact wedding date set yet, shooting for 9/06 and we already have the ears! He was so excited about them (as we know we are honeymooning in WDW) that he even wants to wear them on the plane :rotfl2:

Hey Disney Wirlie Girlie! When did you put your post up? I just finished writing the same exact thing about you guys, look above! How funny!

:wizard: :pug:

Posted mine right before you, Spectro! Haha, I was first! :rotfl2:

By the way -

One should not judge another, until they have walked a mile in their ears. Or at least from the castle to Splash Mountain.

The top hat ears will be on my head when the time comes... and the time is wedding/honeymoon... if you did a whole "renewing your vows" thing for an anniversary, then maybe... but for regular anniversary trips? Nah.

If you can't be dorky at WDW, what are our options?

I'm terrified when people pay attention to me, so I would never wear them, but I do think they are great. And I think people should wear them for honeymoons, anniversaries, etc. Anniversaries are just as important to celebrate, if not more so. Some of my close friends didn't make it to their first anniversary - so DH and I celebrated ours with special meaning.

We'll be wearing our "dorky" ears in less than 2 weeks. It's something I've dreamed about since I was little. Heck my mom even bought me the bride ears when I was a teen to put away for when I took my honeymoon, unfortunately those ears didn't age so well and I ended up getting the headband to wear. Even DH2B is excited to wear them (which I never would have believed) and wants to wear them on the plane. We're not wearing them to get anything extra, except maybe a congrats or two. We are so happy to be getting married and spending our honeymoon at WDW that we want the world to know. Oh and if it wasn't our honeymoon I'd be one of those "dorks" wearing the mickey hat with my name embroidered on it (actually get one every trip). Now if I could just stop being surprised when a CM knows my name when I have that hat on.

I say wear them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wedding.. Anniversary.. what ever MAKE YOU happy!!!!!!!!!!! Life is way too short not to be happy at Dinsey World!

I don't have a problem with anyone who chooses to wear them, but I do think they are super dorky looking. Me and my DH got married on DCL, honeymooned at WDW.

My IL's bought us the hats on the ship. We put them on in the cabin. Took one picture, and stuck them in our suitcase. Same with our bride/groom pins (although those weren't that bad)

There is no way me or my DH would have walked around with those on! Go for it if it's your thing, but it wasn' ours!

I still disagree with wearing them for other then your honeymoon. People have stated here that you do get special treatment from the CMs while wearing these because they believe you're on your honeymoon. Since it's not your honeymoon then you would be abusing the system.

Personally I'd also never wear an "It's my birthday." pin unless it was the day of my birthday. I'd never tell the waitress that it's my birthday, hoping for something special, unless it actually was really my birthday. Wearing the hats for other then your honeymoon is similar.

Good for you    My DH refused to wear the top hat (he said it didn't fit) but he wore a groom (tux) baseball. I wore my bride ears for most of my bridal shower (it was one of the first gifts I opened), on the plane to WDW, and during my entire honeymoom (except at Universal...too many fast rides to loose them on.) I wanted everyone to know I was on my honeymoon. Where else can you wear mouse ears, a nemo hat, bride ears or birthday cake hat and still blend into a crowd?? Have a wonderful wedding and honeymoon and wear your ears with pride :cool1:

when we were on our last trip to WDW i was suprised at the amount of couples wearing the wedding ears. what struck mr about them was not that they may have looked a bit "dorky" but they seemed so very young!!!!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

honestly we decided that if our finances ever permitted it we would renew our vows at WDW and would proudly wear our ears in celebration of our rewnewal.

On our last trip in June, it was very close to our anniversary and even though we had to come home 2 days before the actual date, I wanted to get the ears to show it. DW would have nothing to do with it. She said I could buy it but she wouldn't put it on for any reason. DS was trying to cheer us on but she still wouldn't do it. I was disappointed but I got over it pretty quick. I know they are dorky looking but just once, I wanted to do something that no one that knows me would ever expect. I will say this. If there is anyway humanly possible, I am going to arrange going back to the World for our 20th Anniversary and at that time, I don't care what she says. We are getting the ears. I may be the only 40 year old to wear them but Mickey is a big part of our lives so we must show our respect.

wear them in good health! if my hubby wanted to wear them i would but lets not mention them to him shall we?... just in case :)

Have you looked at the average guest at WDW? Wearing bride/groom ears doesn't even BEGIN to make you look even moderately dorky in comparison!

(And, yes, I'd wear 'em in a heartbeat on my anniversary. I don't think DW would join me, but I suppose that's as good a reason as any to get a mistress. ;))

WDW is dorky, period. That's a big part of the fun!

I love seeing people in bride and groom ears--believe it or not, we see just a few people wearing them on each trip, so it seems very special. Wedding, honeymoon, anniversary--it's cool (in a dorky-cool way, of course! :earsgirl: ).

I like when I see it. It reminds me of when I had my honeymoon at Disney. I don't know why that would annoy anyone.

I think they look dorky, but hey, if that's what makes you happy then by all means wear them.
