Bricks between Disneyland & DCA

When DH got me our brick for Christmas, he gave me a stepping stone (that looks just like the DLR one!!) and wrapped it up. I have a priceless picture of me unwrapping that and looking very puzzled. I'm wondering if he is proposing garden work?? Then he said, "open this one next" and it was the replica! Second photo: Huge grin!!

I think half the fun for him in getting the brick was figuring out how to surprise me with it!

Did he make the stepping stone?

We got our brick either the first or second year that they were selling them. It's located almost directly in the center between Disneyland and CA. It has the year inside the mouse ears so that I had room for all of our names.
We always go check on our brick when we're there!

Been so long now, I don't remember if there was an option of either the acrylic or the wood replica....but ours sits in the kitchen window and the sun shines through it. Reminds me of sunny California even on a chilly day.

I have a question. I ordered my husband a brick on 2/25; I have not recieved the paper work yet. How long after ordering the brick did it take for you to recieve the paper work? Should I be calling Disney and asking what the problem is?

I've just received a reply from DL to my email enquiring about the bricks. I am so going to order one this weekend!

Okay, I called. Paper work is delievered 4-6wks after you order the brick . That is a long time. Then the replica isn't delievered until 10-12 after the paperwork, so it won't be here until after DH's birthday. So instead of giving him the replica for his birthday (or before our trip) I just might take a detour to find our "brick" If I can wait that long. I want to tell him.

The brick isn't usually placed until about 6 months after you order it. Mine was ordered end of November/beginning of December and it won't be placed until May.

Just wanted to let everyone know: I just placed my order for my hubbys birthday brick (Yeah! Cheers!) and the gal on the phone really discourged me from buying the wood replica... she said she gets all kinds of calls from people saying they dont like them since you can barely see the words. Just FYI... I did go with the acrylic since she was so against the wood. ... and I did get a date, I just didnt get to decide on a date! I picked the mouse ears logo and it comes with the current year.
My hubby will love his birthday gift this year!
And if he is snooping on my DIS-ing... well he has spoiled his own surprise.

He just likes to play tricks on me! The look on my face is priceless. Thank goodness MIL remembered to take a picture because DH seems incapable of picking up a camera... we have whole vacations where there is not one single picture of me!

Do they give you directions on how to find your stone? That esplanade is massive! I couldn't imagine trying to find the stone with out some sort of direction...

My paperwork came and it actually had the wrong logo... I asked for the mouse ears with the year, but it came with the mickey hands/heart... it's cute with the heart, but I think I like having the year. I will call DL today regarding this. I also didnt wait until hubby's Bday which is June. I showed him the paperwork since we are going to DL in a few weeks, and want to show the family where the brick will be installed! Oh well. I'll buy him another Pirates jersey for his bday!

For all those asking now ... I emailed Disney and here's the info I got from them. If your order it by Apr 30th, it will be put in place in Aug. The # to call is here also.

replica of your brick for your home or office. Replicas retail for
$35.00 each and are available in wooden or acrylic finish.

I remember when we were looking into this 3 years ago that there was a date of how long the bricks are guaranteed to be there. Does anyone know this information?

With the renovation of the DCA entrance, I wonder if they'll rip up all the bricks?

Not sure if this has been answered yet, but my paperwork says it was guaranteed to be there for 10 years, and they are still selling more. I think most of the Grand Cali work is far away from the walkway between the two parks.

I love my brick! It has myself, my husband and my two daughters on it. I wish I could have fit my dogs and cat!
