DH is traveling to Breckenridge for business next month and would like me to go along. Has anyone been there and what were your thoughts? Thanks.

Definately go! The mountains in Colorado are gorgous. My inlaws have a condo in Vail and i've spent alot of time in Keystone. We stayed in Breckenridge for a weekend once too.... they are all pretty close together. You get to shop at the outlet mall, you can take the ski lifts to the top to eat or if you are athletic you can bike down the mountain. You can even drive 60 miles to Central City/Blackhawk which is a gambling town with lots of casinos.. small and quaint and fun. There is lots and lots you can do in the mountains of Colorado. Have a great time!

:thumbsup2 very beautiful area. I have a very good friend in Denver and have been to Brechenridge twice, in the winter though, but have told DH we should go back to that area in the summer, when the kids are older.

You may want to take precautions for altitude sickness though....on my last visit I had the worst headache ever, but nothing a few OTC medicines didn't clear up. The next time we go back, I would definetly try to be more preventative. HAVE FUN!!!!!

I live two hours away from Breckenridge, and it's one of my favorite places.

In May, the weather is still very unpredictable. Bring a heavy jacket just in case it snows, and be sure to dress in layers because it could get bright and sunny before you know it.

Have fun!!

Beautiful! The mountains there are so different from the east coast. My Dad lives in Vail and we visit as often as we can because it is such a great area! Do take a coat, we were stuck in a late snow two years ago on Memorial Day weekend!

Please tell me what there is for me to do while he is in a conference? I have high blood pressure and asthma how will the altitude affect this if at all? Thanks, I am really leaning towards going. I have never been to Colorado.

I found this article for you:

It may be wise to talk to your doctor...my asthma was o.k., but in reading this article my case could have been prevented...we flew (very dry on the plane ride-dehydration) in from Maui (ocean level) and the next day went up to the mountains and rode snow mobiles....not very smart. But I still had lots of fun :thumbsup2
