Breaking NEWS PHOTO SESSIONS!!!!!! :-)

We did this back in May as a big family, and i'm hoping to do this in August with DH for our anniversary. I haven't skimmed all the pages, so have they added any resorts lately? I was thinking the BC would be best for us since we'll be at the BW. Is it still only offered at GF, Poly, WL, BC, and AKL?

The discount for preordering the CD is over from what they told me when I asked about it. For DVC you get 20% off the 199.95 or whatever package it is. This includes the shoot and photos. There's an option with an 8x10, a few 4x6's and 5x7's one with 7-5x7's and i don't remember what the third package is. All of the photos are put on a CD with high resolution and you get the rights to the photos to make whatever copies you would like. I did order a single print from our in-park photos and get 20% off that as well.

I called DVC member services on 1/25 and was given a code for the photopass CD for $50.00 discount. It is not a preorder, but a discount code for after you upload your pics. This is in effect a substitute for the preorder recieved by other resort guests. I was also told that as a DVC member I would get 20% off the resort shoot making it $79.99, close to the preorder price. Call Member Services and see what they can do for you.

FINALLY!!! Here are my pics!! I'm really happy with how everything turned out considering how tired the kids were.

Doing research on the photo sessions & just came across this thread!

I love your pics...they are great! I'm glad you mentioned that your kids were tired...I'm worried about my son because he will be 2 1/2 at the time of our photo session at the Poly or GF...I haven't decided yet. (going for Christmas so I want a mix of beach photos & Christmas decor photos!) I'm worried that my son will be too tired (even though I'm going to book in the morning, his nap time is completely random...he used to nap everyday at 12 or 1...now its anytime btw 11:30 and 2pm...) I'm also worried from the reviews I read on here that the photographer won't be good with kids. I'm going to request doing all the indoor photos first because once my son goes onto the beach & sees sand & water, we'll be lucky to get him away from the sand an hour later! lol

Anyway, I just wanted to tell you that your pics were great! The kids took great pics even though you said they were tired! Your outfits were great too...I've been trying to decide for months now what we'll wear & am stressed about it more than anything else about our trip! I was leaning towards a light blue & now I think I definitely will go with that! Thanks for sharing! Great pics!

I wonder if thats what I got in the mail also??? I got a coupon that said 20% off a photo session (in the fine print it stated that it excludes the photo cd, prints, etc). They sent it in a booklet that said "since you recently visited, here are some planning tips...etc" (we went last year). Is that the current price? the 199?

What if you aren't a DVC member? Any discounts? I got the 20% off in the mail (just because we visited last year & Disney Destinations sent us a "visit us again" booklet) but if the regular price is $199, thats still pretty expensive...still over $150 and I was planning for it to be $75-90.

Hi all...
I'm slightly confused...
We might be interested in this for our honeymoon at ALK.
Do we just call the regular reservation line? How far in advance can we book? Is it true that you CANNOT add photopass park pics on if you buy the cd?
Thanks

Hello heatherandnick...you are able to book the Private Photo Sessions 30 days prior to your trip. You can call the reservation number (407) 824-1700 to schedule your session. I believe this number is only for photo session reservations. They say that the sessions are available from 8am-7pm (or sunset whichever is sooner). You can schedule at the Grand Floridian, Beach Club, Polynesian, Wilderness Lodge, or Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Someone else will have to back me up on this one because I'm not 100%...it seems that everyone has a different opinion on it. But I'm pretty sure you are able to add your Photopass pics from the parks onto the Private Session CD for $50 extra. I've heard people say this & I've also heard them say that sometimes the photographer will give you a Photopass card with your entire session on it (so you are able to go back into your photos later & add borders or enhancements to them).

So, lets say you are on vacation for 7 days...on the 3rd day of your trip, you have the private photo session...you can give the photographer your photopass cards from the parks up to this point...then they will add those photos to your CD for you. I was told this is free...BUT if you come back on day 7 and want day 4, 5, 6 and 7's photopass pics added to the CD, they charge you $50 extra. Can someone please confirm this is true? I'm confused as well & don't want to give out false info. I've done tons and tons of research on this, but it seems like everyone has a different price & procedure for the CDs!

When we walked way from our resort photo session, we had our CD with photos taken that day in hand. So there would be no way to add later trip photos without burning a new CD.

With regular in-park Photopass photos, you order your CD after the trip, or I suppose you could take one home from the parks the last day of your trip.

Our photographer added our session photos to our Photopass account, so we got the resort session CD that day, and then the photos were also available on our Photopass account so we could add borders, etc., and came on the CD we ordered after the trip. So we received the resort session photos two ways.

Thank you for clarifying that to me! Very helpful!

I'm hoping they still do that...I've heard so many different things about it. It seems to me it just depends on the CM you get for a photographer. I know that you get the CD right there & then, but I'm hoping our photographer will also add them to PhotoPass...did you have to ask or did they just do it? I figure if they don't do it automatically I will just ask...the worst they can say is "no" right? I would love to have the pics on the CD & PhotoPass so I can add the borders to them, especially because we are going for Christmas & I'd like to add the holiday borders or characters to the photos.

Thanks again for the info!

I don't know why it would be a hassle for them -- seemed to me like he scanned a PhotoPass card and handed it to us without our asking for them.

If you're at the Poly, ask for Tom. He was our photog and he was GREAT!

I had 2 photopass sessions a few years ago ('07 and '08) but things have changed. Can someone please tell me the current costs for:

1) Regular Photopass CD (~$150?)

2) Photopass Session + CD (~$50 + ~$100?)

Is there a discount to combine #1 and #2 together?

I am a DVC Member so I will also call 30 days prior to my trip to see if I can get the extra discount mentioned by a PP.

Finally, if we have a group of 6 adults and 4 kids, will one 20-30 minute session really be enough time to get all the assorted photos (kids only, adults only, 3 individual families, full group, etc).

It seemed to me that the 20 minutes went extremely quickly when it was just the 3 of us.... For those who did this with a large group, would it be better to purchase an additional time slot ($50?) but still get all the photos on one CD?

Many Thanks!

Marshay, we were a group of 10 and purchased an additional half-hour for our session at the Poly. It worked out well. If we'd have only booked the one session we would only have had time for one or two settings, but with the longer session we had photos at 5-6 places.

no, adding the second "half hour" (not quite) was less than the first booked hour. Sorry, I don't think we have a receipt, and it's probably changed by now anyway.

Thanks! I'll just give them a call closer to our travel. If it's not t-o-o much more for the 2nd time slot, that would make the most sense for our group of 10 (3 families).

alright, so am I reading this correct? If you purchase the photopass CD, the photoshoot is not longer included. If you want to do the photoshoot, it is $150 alone. Then if you want the photopass CD from pics from the park, ect, that is another $150? If you did the photoshoot and also got all your other photopass pics it would be $300?:confused3:scared1:

PLEASE HELP!!! What are the prices?

If you preorder the CD you get a discount off of the photoshoot. If you decide not to preorder the CD then you would have to pay full price. Hope that helps :thumbsup2

If you get the resort photopass CD, they include a photopass card in the box. When you get home, you can just add the code from that photopass card along with your others from the park when you order the Parks Photopass CD. The resort pictures will then be on the same CD as your parks pictures. The photopass photographer doesn't "add them" to your photopass.
