DS gets Friday off, teachers work on report cards. Next Friday is Veterans day. After that his only full week of school. Because After that is the day after Thanksgiving, when the US goes shopping.

Has anyone had an anaheim pepper? Are the spicy?

 Everyone must have missed this question! I can sort of answer it. Supposedly they have small amount of heat, but are not anywhere near the jalapeno. I can't remember where they are on the scoville scale, but according to Wikipedia the normal ones are 1,000-2,500. A jalapeno is 3,500-8,000 as is a "new Anaheim pepper". the Habanero or Scotch Bonnet is 100,000. Bell peppers are zero.

That's a lot of holiday season!

We're about 7 weeks before Christmas. I'm thinking about putting my decorations up either this weekend or next.

Have you ever had one? I was told that what I had were Anaheims but it was crazy hot. I could eat jalepenos alone no problem. But these you tasted over the strir fry not problem. I did cut the seeds and white part out so it was just the skin.

Is there a look alike pepper?

Perhaps you got the New Mexico Anaheim that I read about. I have not had them as we are not spicy people at all the most I've bought is the green pepper which is zero. I've considered the Poblano, buy never found them at the grocery store.

I think you are right Alison then it could have the heat of a medium level Jalepeno.

I had to look that kind up, it say often used for Chile Relleno. Which is funny because that's what I was told to do with my "Anaheims". I've had Chile Relleno many times and never thought the pepper was hot at all, more like a green bell pepper.

I'm off to sleep. Have a good night everyone.

So maybe they had the "other" Anaheim chile selling for a regular one. We stay away from anything spicy, just not good. I use crushed red pepper when we're looking for spicy.

I've got to go to bed, there was a problem with Fran's IV, the connection to her hand was leaking so the nurse has to come tomorrow and reinsert the thing. Ugh must be up between 8AM and whatever. At least I have an hour and a half massage tomorrow!

Oh I hope the IV gets sorted. I suppose with the morphine she wouldn't feel it too much but I hate hand IV. Not that arm is much more fun....but I bruise nastily.

Hope the results came back ok and Fran gets better soon.

Yes I keep getting the...but at least you're getting paid. Yes pay is nice. Just such chaos. One consultant says this. We pass that change info onto the const. company and they say no. Meanwhile I start changing. So change back. Then discover while fixing that something else is wrong. And around we go...

So cricket huh? Ugh... Stoopid game invented by those pommy people. :lmao:
When I started dating DBF and actually while he was out here first time??? The ashes were on and we we losing. So his mates started to try and prod me with....just don't mention the ashes. Sigh. They can keep that teeny brown cup.
I much prefer that massive silver Stanley Cup!! Now THAT'S a cup....

With the ball sports I grade them. Real football (sometimes called soccer) comes first. rugby Union is tolerable. League and AFL are just bizarre.
Baseball like cricket takes waaaaaaay too long for anything to happen. It may not take up to 5 days. But it still has too much standing around flapping time.
DBF loves NFL. Meh...better than baseball and rugby. But it's all relative.

Can you do ice hockey at any schools now that you have the specific rink in the ice centre at docklands?
