I listened to the Disneyland Podcast this morning and wanted to mention my own experience in getting stuck in "it's a small world" there on February 9, 2012.
We were stuck in the Africa room for a good 30-40 minutes. The lights came on. The music was turned OFF (thank goodness), but the animation was still on, so you could hear the clickety clack noise from the dolls. The entire time, the boats drifted backwards and forwards. I don't recall anyone coming to check on us.
I believe this was after the incident with the man who sued Disneyland, so they might have learned how to switch the music off by then.
