Breaking Blt News!

Thats great that they gave you the DP's!!!!!!!!:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Were you within 7 months of check in day at GC? I was told you couldn't do it more than 7 months.

Enjoy your trip!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Thanks very much!

This is all so exciting! i am going to WDW for 2 days in January for my 40th b day, just to force my DH to finally buy DVC. i hope we can get the 5 off and the matching developer points. Perhaps it will finally give me the excuse to get my kids out to Disneyland!

Are they still doing the Disney Visa referral incentive as well? I think by us going 1/10 and 1/11 we will be able to get in before any price increases I have skimmed over that are rumored.

We had a trip to Las Vegas planned for DH birthday in February.
I added on 3 nights at Grand Cali at the front of the trip. 114 points--had to use 14 of my HH points. I could of had a standard view for 96 points.
I just found out they have a Madiera Spa--there goes my "savings"!

I wasn't able to reach my guide yesterday about the developers points and didn't receive a call back from her today. However, I'm happy to hear that someone was able to get them! That gives me some hope.

When I called Quality Assurance yesterday to make a general inquiry, they told me I'd have to speak directly with my guide. I wonder if they're receiving a lot of calls on this.

The official word is that if you bought BLT before the developer points incentive and your contract hasn't closed, then you can get them.

Will they give the $5/pt. price break if you buy 2 add-ons for 25pts. each & 1 for 50pts?

QA told me that they considered my contract to have closed on 10/27 :(

Still no call back from my guide today. Maybe she doesn't want to give me bad news :confused3

So Minnie Moo, which incentives did you receive from your bought?

Moo - We're in the same prediciment. We were scheduled to close on 11/8/08 but we closed early, right before the developer points came out. I'm waiting to hear from my guide too. This was our 1st purchase of DVC so we just got the $5 off points since we signed when we were at WDW.

Same here. I bought on 10/5 and the estimated closing was 11/14. I called my guide about getting developer points and pointed out that the contract estimated my closing for 11/14. She informed me that the contract closed early (10/29). And she pointed out the the developer points didn't start until 11/6 so there was nothing they could do. :confused3

My guide called me back this afternoon. She said that because I had called in on Wednesday and she wasn't able to return my call right away, based on my closing date (which she said was yesterday :confused3 although QA told me it was 10/27), she was able to convince her management to be able to give me the developer points :dance3:

Now I need to figure out the booking details for the developer points since I'm such a newbie.

My paperwork was dated 10/13 and I believe I mailed it on 10/14. I received the $5/point incentive. I called early to be able to purchase BLT when it originally became available to non-DVC members. However, I have to say that I felt pretty pressured to buy in because it sounded like the $5/point deal might go away if I didn't purchase soon.

Good luck to the others who are in the same boat!

Those who "closed" within days of this offer, please trust me and be persisitent.. We got some pixie dust yesterday :goodvibes

does anyone know, if you get these DP's after the fact is it anywhere on the DVC system? do you get something in writing? or does MS only see it?

I'll keep my fingers crossed and hopefully we'll get some pixie dust like Renysmom. I talked to my guide yesterday and he said the entire benefit team was in NY and wouldn't be back until tomorrow. He has Sun and Mon off so he said he would call me on Tuesday.

Thanks for the hope!

In writing...Don't want to leave anything to a verbal agreement...Contract spells out exact terms of use..when they expire, where they can be used etc..

Too valuable to leave "on the table"...matching dp's are great!

Good Luck!:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

As non-DVC member I toured BLT models in late September. I was told by my guide that I was eligible for $5 off per point and the tile. He made a follow up call in mid-October and stated that the incentives were the same. On October 23rd, I called to purchase and he withdrew the tile offer stating it was only for current members. I asked about any new or upcoming incentives, his answer was "none". I purchased 220 points in two contracts (160 and 60) and paid cash all up front. I received the paperwork the next day followed by a reminder letter to send in the paperwork within seven days. I mailed it in and received confirmation.

When I found out about the DP's I called my guide and he wasn't in. I called Quality Assurance yesterday and spoke with a nice guy who stated that I closed on my contracts (unnoticed to me) November 10th and he said that deed was not yet recorded. He thought it wasn't going to be a problem getting the DP's for the 160 contract, but would check on the 60. He called and left me a message stating to call back Monday.

I called Quality Assurance again today and was told by another person that my deed in fact was recorded and that my contracts were closed. She stated that her manager would be in on Monday and they might have an answer then. I asked about calling my guide and she told me that he would just direct me to Quality Assurance. So my response was: "I'll just keep calling you until I get what I want." She laughed.

We got DPs with our BLT purchase...I called yesterday to make reservations, and they're in the system.

Question for you. Are you a founding member too? Cause it looks like you closed 3 days before us, so I'm thinking of calling in for these DPs too. It can't hurt to try! But I'm wondering if cause we're founding members we wouldn't/couldn't get the DPs?

TIA for your help!
